Mixed reviews about this shop. The owner was friendly enough. They did a last minute head gasket repair for me as my wife and I travel across country, which I greatly appreciated. His office staff was extremely helpful when there was a glitch in payment for the repair work. They cost of the repair was also well within the standard cost of head gasket repairs. $1200. This included milling of the head, valve lash adjustment, water pump and timing belt replacement, parts and labor. I honestly expected the cost to be closer to $1500.The problems:-lack of communication-high pressure for non-essential work or declined work-mechanics could use some customer service interaction lessonsLet me explain further.Atleast a daily phone call as to where they were on the job, would have been nice. Considering that my wife and I were stuck in a motel while we waited for the repairs. Also, we had discussed the replacement of the timing belt and water pump before any work had begun. I declined them both, as they had been replaced two years prior. The next day, I received a phone call from Mr. Oard asking if I was sure about the timing belt and water pump. After declining three separate times, I relented and said go for it.I went back to the shop, a few hours after this call, to retrieve a few items from in the car. The head had been removed. Three mechanics stood around my car, looking at the new head gasket. I greeted them and asked what it looked like. One of the mechanics responded, dead pan, with "It looks like an engine". The rest of the mechanics either refused to acknowledge me, or walked off with out so much as a hello. When I looked over the engine, I found my timing belt was still in the engine and had been cut. The reasons for this, as per the mechanic working on my car, was to make it easier to remove. It struck me as odd, my belt looked almost new. Why not leave it in place. I began to wonder if the cut belt and the urgent call to replace it may have been linked.

I stopped at Oard's to have vibration in the rear of my vehicle diagnosed and addressed. When I arrived the entire staff gathered around my vehicle and attempted to find the issue causing my the vibration. An hour later and after having removed the rear driveshaft, they were still at a loss. I spoke with an individual who appeared to be in charge. He walked into the garage and two minutes later observed the rear tire had a 6 inch gash in the side wall. The issue with the tire was clear as day. Baffled at how it took five mechanics and an hour and a half to find the issue I was very disappointed and underwhelmed at how well the diagnosis went. Before they replaced the tire I told the manager, to please not put the balancing weights on the outside of the rim. When the mechanic drove my vehicle out, there was a weight slammed on the outside of my chrome rim. I addressed this with the mechanic and his response was nothing less than the most unprofessional reaction one would expect from a service center. The man walked off and slammed the door of the shop... Then they charged an ungodly amount for labor and diagnosis time. I wouldn't recommend this shop to my enemies. Hands down WORST EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!!

I have used this shop 3 times. They are often very friendly and understanding. I am a female who is not technically intellectual about cars. They take the time to explain my car parts and fixings to me in my known language. The only problem I could ever view with this shop is that their labor charges are quite large.

Ryan and Jeff did such a great job. We were on our way fromore Wichita to hays and had to be towed to oards. They stayed late to wait on our ride to pick us up and called with updates on the truck. They are awesome and I would highly recommend them!

Great experience. I broke down going through Kansas. Thought I blew the head gasket. Relieved when they told me it was just a seal on one of the spark plug's. Fixed and back on the road in less then 24 hours. Thanks guys you really got me out of a bind.
