Brought my car in for rear brakes a year ago- I traveled to Minnesota and had an issue with my brakes 10 months later..Tom was able to utilize a parts warranty program to allow me to fix my brakes in Minnesota at a local shop and helped to cover the costs of the repair.Tom and his team (Colleen & Carissa) did everything possible to make it right and stand by their work. I highly recommend Tom's Auto.

I was having an issue with my car today; Toms auto got me in same day pretty close to closing and were completely happy to help. I ve been using Toms Auto repair for almost two years and they are always able to take care of my car quickly and at a fair price. Absolutely recommend them!

Highly recommend! The transfer case went out on our 2015 Duramax while traveling, and the entire team at Tom's Automobile Repair was there to make our experience a better one. They even provided us with a loaner vehicle. We are so thankful for their kindness, professionalism, expertise, and communication throughout the process.

Please read full post as I have added to it after the owner's response to this post. Thank you and wish you luck in finding a reputable garage.Don't expect a quote even if you know exactly what the problem is. Even though my car can only be towed there, they refused to give me an estimate over the phone until they could have it in their hands. It is just a water pump and timing belt that has to be done at the same time because the pump runs off of the timing belt. Very simple to quote. This is the second time I have had problems getting a straight answer even when I want an exact job done. Last time I wanted a part replaced, but they wouldn't do it until they charged me for a diagnostic that I didn't need because I already know the problem. They are friendly enough, but I don't trust anyone that can't give some kind of estimate when the issue is obvious.UPDATE AFTER YOUR WEAK RESPONSE>Even your response is bad business and condescending. Revealing a customer's personal history is a nice touch to prove my point about shady business practices and trust. Nice job.Your wife is the one who refused to give me a quote for an exact part that I wanted replaced and had already been diagnosed elsewhere. That was the first time. In person. This time I needed to have an idea of cost to see if I wanted to put the amount of money into this car now or possibly not at all. You don't need to diagnose anything as I can plainly see the water coming from my water pump and do not want anything else done. You just want to be the one to get ahold of my car instead of another garage instead of doing exactly and only what the customer wants. As far as the Interlock device you installed, your own associate Brad and your wife both told me upon me learning that your charge an extra $35 a month to monitor it, which was never disclosed before install, that you know that company is being banned in several states for their shady business practices, yet you still install them. You should have told me up front that you charge an extra fee to monitor the device at the time of install and knowingly mislead your customers about it to this day. I only called you for a quote today because Brad said other garages probably won't work on it because of that device.I have lived in Olathe for 47 years. No wonder I had never heard of your business before the whole Interlock thing. Which I have for waiting for a ride in my car with the a/c running on a hot evening because I wasn't going to drive after drinking. In Kansas it doesn't matter if you are not driving and someone thinks it's weird your waiting in a parking lot with the car running for an extended time. If you have a remote key fob and your car is running, you can still get a DUI because you are "in control" of that vehicle and could potentially move it. It didn't matter that I had proof that in text that my friend would get me once he was done at the V.A. which is why I was waiting there so long.Just FYI so for anyone who has waited for a ride in their car. Evidently, legally they can do the same thing if you had been drinking and sit in your own driveway with the car running.Anyway, I just thought I would share details since Tom took it upon himself to out my personal information. I have screen shots of all this to use appropriately.

They put in 5W-20 oil for a car that requires 0W-20. This is horrible for start up wear, especially with engines that run cold. I noticed a drop in power, fuel economy, and I found bearing material in the next oil change. Engine response and mpg immediately improved when I put in the RIGHT oil. They also torqued the drain plug and filter like crazy. If you want things done right, pay a professional, not these folks. Even I can do a better job than them, and I break things more often than I fix them!Edit: That's a lot of words to confirm you didn't put in 0w20. No wonder you have a help wanted sign if this is how you respond to a complaint.

Wouldn't recommend. Car got broken into, took it to Tom's Auto where insurance payed for everything except my deductible.Toms auto then marked up the costs of parts and passed that on to me where I had to pay more than what I was supposed to. Been a loyal customer for over 7 years and this is how they do me.Just totally dead wrong.dont bring your car here. Overpriced and just out to get your money.Pitiful.Post edit: these guys love to deflect it looks like. But the TRUTH is the fact that they take parts and mark it up past MSRP to pad their own pockets. What's sad is I was a customer for 7 years so I can only imagine what they're doing to the first timers. Tom and his team can say whatever they like here but that's the absolute truth.

Highly recommend Tom's. 1st time customer. While my alignment was out, still had a little pull to the left and brought it back. They listed a couple things it could be. Did a diagnostic and despite the tires appearing to be good, they recommended replacement. Tom gave me a quote on a brand I never heard of, did my research and found favorable ratings and the price was competitive. Drove it down 35 for several miles, no pull and it ran straight and true, Thanks Tom! You don't always consider a shop like this for tires, but I will now.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment

I can t recommend this place enough. I was on my way to work and heard a noise coming from my car. I searched for the nearest auto repair place and found Tom s. My issue was an engine splash guard hanging off the bottom of my car! I d dealt with that stupid thing too many times and just needed it removed. I spoke with the receptionist and explained the situation, hoping I didn t sound crazy since I was a walk-in and in a time crunch. The woman I spoke with was so sweet and kind and immediately asked the owner, Tom, if they would be able to help me. He immediately said yes and that it would be about 15-20 minutes. I was incredibly grateful!!! I had an important presentation that morning and couldn t believe they would be able to help me in such a short amount of time. But there were so many other things I noticed while there:-They had a beautiful waiting room off to the side with comfortable furniture, TV, reading material, etc-I brought my makeup inside to do it while I waited and Tom offered me to use a mirror that was on a wall so I didn t have to fumble with my things-Tom s wife arrived and greeted me warmly! She was incredibly friendly and kind-The bathroom!! It was so clean and they had a diaper changing station! I ve never ever seen that in a car shop! They also had boutique-y hand soap so you didn t have to use the heavy duty stuff the mechanics use-The outside was manicured beautifully with cute garden decorations. Not the usual cigarette butts and trash you find other places!-The receptionist and Tom s wife chatted with me while I waited. They were funny and sweet and treated me like they had known me for years-Their mechanic removed the piece for me and also completed a thorough inspection with notes. They gave me a print-out of other things I need fixed and the cost. Incredibly reasonable prices!Going into a repair shop can be super intimidating, especially as a woman. But they didn t miss a beat in their customer service and I felt so comfortable. Tom was a sweetheart, his wife was darling, and the receptionist was warm and kind. You can really tell they think of their customers and provide an easy experience.I will 100% be using Tom s Auto in the future! I ve already messaged everyone in my department at work to recommend Tom s!

I took my car in for an oil change. It is a very small car (Mercedes SLK 55 AMG) It has memory seats on the driver side. We have owned the car for years now and the car is babied. The only drivers are my son, my wife (very infrequent) & I. We are both tall and rarely move the seat. When we went to pick it up after the oil change was done, and my wife had to drive it back home, (she is only 5'3"} and had to move the seat. She noticed the memory seat unit was not the same as it was when she drove it the week before. In fact, the memory seat unit was now recessed into the side of the seat and does not work as it did BEFORE the oil change was done. I took it in to Tom and he saw that the unit was broke. But when I called back to make sure his shop was to pay for damages, as usual in this industry, he sided with his employee and refused to pay for the repair. Needless to say, I will be paying out of pocket for THEIR mess up. Unfortunately, if they would have done the right thing and fixed my car, I would still be a customer. But nope, they decided to upset the customer, keep the money in their pocket and forgo any and all future business and referrals. Their loss. And I truly thought I had found the 1 and only honest auto repair place. I was wrong.Service: General repairs & maintenance

If I could leave less than one star I would. They quoted $3300.00 in repair and maintenance for my wife s car. She was in shock to receive the estimate but had been going to them for 2 years so trusted that the work needed to be done. When she got home and we discussed the estimate, I began to look up the cost of parts and called around to other shops for quotes. No one I spoke with could come anywhere near the quote Toms gave for the exact same work. When I called to discuss the quote with Steve (service advisor) at Tom s, he was unwilling to make any adjustment to the quote, insisting it was a fair price. He wasn t willing to consider any alternative other than the high quote which didn t feel right to us.Took the car to another shop. They fixed the main issue (a coolant leak) for a fraction of the price. Front brakes were far cheaper (using high quality parts with a warranty). The supposed leak in the power steering line that Toms said would require over $700.00 to fix didn t exist.-Tom s quote of $3300.00 to fix issues not found in the car.-Other shop fixed the actual issue and maintenance for a grand total of $755.00.Go elsewhere, you ll thank your future self.

If I could give more than 5 starts I absolutely would! Tom and his team go above and beyond the call for servicing vehicles. Took my 7 Series BMW for oil change, and the team was better than any dealership service I have received. They are HONEST, detailed, professional, knowledgable, experienced and they take the time to go through the services performed and there is no overcharging! They offer a clean and comfy waiting area with phone chargers for every phone, WiFi, coffee and water. The ladies who run the officer are warm, engaging, hospitable, and so dang sweet!WOW!!!If you are looking for a business with "back-in-the-good-ol-days when folks cared about providing quality service - - Tom's Auto Repair is THE PLACE!Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Honest, friendly, family owned service! Greeted with a warm welcome when I came in the door, Tom is very kind! Tim worked on my van and did a great, thorough job. I had him change my oil and do a general look over to make sure my van was doing well. I walked in without an appointment and they were able to fit me in no problem! Comfortable waiting room with TV to help keep your kiddos entertained, my two year old was very pleased. I will be returning here so long as I am in the area! Thank you Tom and team!

Called and spoke to Tom himself, he was able to get me in the next day for a wheel bearing replacement. They kept me in the loop throughout the day and verified that I wanted the service done. Highly recommend, will be taking my wife's car in as well.

I went to Tom's based on the reviews I had read on google, and was very impressed with them. Tom went out of his way to do a custom exhaust job on my newly purchased BMW. He was extremely accommodating, and went out of his way to make sure I was happy with their work. It's obvious he takes pride in his work and cares about his customers. I would recommend him to anyone. Honest, fair, and very reasonably priced.

Tom's is outstanding. I live in Wichita, but have meetings in Kansas City frequently. I was having an issue with the undercover on my car and needed to get to a meeting - they got me rolling quickly and were beyond kind. I recommend them without any reservations and appreciate their help. Great people.

I had an issue come up regarding my CC that accidentally fell in the tiny slit next to emergency brake. I called three dealerships that were booked and needed my card. I googled shops near my office and I see why this business has 5 star reviews. Tom Got me right in and out even though they were busy. Upbeat, pleasant and professional. I'll be going back! Tom's so nice along with the other's!

I went into Tom's because I saw they had a 5 star rating and I see why. I spoke to Tom and Steve regarding my repairs. They did the work faster than expected and my bill was lower than the original estimate. I felt they were professional and honest, which is hard to find these days. I will be bringing my car back if I have any car issues in the future.

BEWARE: I took my car here for the ac fan making a loud noise. I had just moved down the street and was glad to see a car repair shop so close to me. They quoted me a $951 repair job for the blower replacement. I called my regular mechanic shop (who was backed up for two weeks) and they repaired it for $450. I don't know whether this place just didn't want my business or what, but they sure won't be getting any in the future. It's sad to see a place try to take advantage of people like this.
