Very Helpful and Honest Shop! Dale was Awesome! I was heading out of town when I started having car problems. He was able to work me in, fix my issue and get me on my way quickly! Highly recommend this Repair Shop!

Dale was incredibly kind to my husband and I in our situation, got us right in and the willingness to help was 10/10 You can definitely tell that this place cares about you as a person and not your money like other places! Dale was very helpful and informative! My car was looked at quickly and the problem was found. Since I had a recent oil change, Dale told me to take it back to the place, and I did. It ended up being a seal leak. I got it fixed it with no charge. Tried to give Dale some money for helping me figure things out but he wouldn t accept it. Great guy. Thank you, sir! Will definitely be back soon to get new brakes. Y all do business with this man!Service: Vehicle Inspection

Dale was an excellent and honest mechanic. His quotes are accurate and the service is timely. They make scheduling very easy. I can't recommend Dale's enough. As a young female I always dread going into get work done on my car, but this shop is owned and operated by truly good hearted and qualified people. And if you're lucky and they aren't too busy you might get to see pictures of Dale's adorable alpacas!

Dale is the most honest and nicest gentleman I've ever met. I have taken my car there several times. And if something does not need to be done or shouldn't be done, he is straight up and will say so. Most mechanics will tell you the opposite and do unnecessary work just for the money. The last time I went to Dale, I was going through a really rough patch in my life. Living in a domestic violence shelter etc etc. I took my car in to get diagnosed, and the cost was $250, and he ended up not charging me a dlme. Dale, I cannot express how much that meant to me. I'm trying so hard to get back up on my feet. And seems like every time I take one step forward I get stuck three steps back. It's so good to know that there are decent humans still left on this Earth.

Just had an oil change and asked they check the brakes. They fixed front rotors but said the back did not need it. Most places would charge for everything. Love the honesty and willingness to take care of the car as if it were his own. Thank you!

FAIR, HONEST, HIGHLY SKILLED.Dale is an extremely knowledgeable mechanic. He does quality work as if working on his own car. So many shops will work to maximize the amount of work your car "needs". Dale is as honest as they come. He does not try to talk you into work that doesn't need to be done. It seems that people have caught on to this shop and so he has a busy schedule. I waited a month to get my car in because I had no intention to take it to any other shop.Services: Steering & suspension repair, A/C installation & repair

This is a long overdue review. Dale and his team have helped me out over the past few years servicing my truck. When people bring their cars into mechanics they are understandably intimidated- but here there is no need. Dale will always put everything into layman s terms and treat you with the utmost kindness in the process. The quality of work is unmatched and along with the years of experience you just simply can t get this anywhere else. We went to celebrate mother's day to the restaurant next door and on our way out my mom's car would not turn on we had the cables to run power but weren't sure how to connect them. I went over to Dale's and Dale was there, I asked him If he could show us how to do it and he didn't even hesitate. He stopped what he was doing walked over to the car and connected the cables for us. He also showed us how to do it in case it happened again. He was so kind and patient. He helped us just because he wanted to help. Will definitely be coming back in the future. Great first experience with Dale.

We were really impressed with this shop, but that opinion quickly changed. We bumped our mirror and asked them to look at it to see if they felt it was functioning properly. During the inspection the mechanic stuck his fingers behind the mirror and made it worse. When we spoke with Dale about the situation he was not cooperative and not willing to take any responsibility or compromise to remedy the situation.

Had to have my car taken in for a diagnostic due to sudden engine failure and they gave me an answer quickly, with a reasonable fee. Unfortunately the car was a loss, but Dale gave me really valuable advice about what to look for in a new vehicle, and answered all the questions I had. Very personable and professional service, highly appreciated!

Most experienced & knowledgeable auto mechanic I've ever met. Dale runs a quality business: efficient, reasonably priced, & honest. Dale himself is so kind & patient when explaining what my car needs. I take my car there for maintenance & repair & wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

Dale is the only person we will take our cars too! He is trustworthy and honest! My husband took his car in this week for sale to look at it and dale told him we need a new transmission and to take it to the dealership. When my husband picked it up dale said their was no charge. He conducts his business with honesty and integrity.

I ve used Dale s before and they were great, except for today. I called today to see if they had availability the following week to take a look at my car that was having ignition problems. Whoever was on the phone was not helpful at all and hung up on me while I was trying to describe the problem.Quite unprofessional. My wife and I have taken 3 different cars to Dale's Automotive over the years. We have had GREAT, FANTASTIC, and CURTEOUS service over the years. The last time I went in to Dale's I asked for an oil change on my 2015 Toyota Corolla. I got grossly overcharged for a cabin air filter (which I didn't specifically ask for) and oil change to the tune of $150+. Dale then stood by this pricing after chatting with him over the phone. I asked him to give me an itemized list, which he did over the phone.That was the last time I went to Dale's Automotive.Dale, I'm happy to have a phone conversation about this, but we've already discussed this twice over the phone.

We've been using Dale's for years. He has NEVER done any work on our cars without first determining what needs to be done and then calling with the cost to get our authorization. His prices are more than fair, his work is excellent and he stands behind it completely. He does not nickle and dime. He will explain what and why and give you options if there are any. It is so rare to find his level of expertise and fairness that we have never considered going anyplace else. We've been lots of other places in the past and we know great when we see it.

Best auto repair in the KC metro. I will not take my car anywhere else. Dale and his amazing crew go above and beyond to provide quality service. They are down to earth and not at all sales driven like so many places are. Yes, like some reviews mention, they will price and recommend parts direct from the manufacturer when necessary for durability and reliability. I ve never had any issues arise after getting my cars fixed and serviced here. They are truly the BEST AROUND!

I was in the area, not from here, and my car started acting up. He went on a test drive with me so I could point out when the car acted up. He then told me what the issue was and how to prevent it. Great shop, found my drivability issue in a day or less, when the other three shops I took it to had my vehicle for 3-7 days each. Chris was very polite and patient while I tried to explain my issue and asked questions that led them in the right direction. Both dale and Chris educated me on things I can do myself to prevent issues and took time to explain and even show me why it failed and what it does, with every penny and more. Cant say enough about the place, clearly intelligent people that take pride in their work and taking care of the customer. Would love to have them as my mechanic if I lived in kc still.

I had Dale take a look at my vehicle, the check engine light had been coming on with the check gas cap message. I had taken my car to a local dealer 3 times who swore to me, it was my gas cap! I was so frustrated, I was ready to purchase a new vehicle. Dale checked out my car and replaced the purge valve, due to its common failure rate. If you want someone to check your vehicle out, who listens, is not condensing to women and takes the time to review your car's repair history (Yes I took my records to Dale, per his request). Dale's Auto Repair is the place to start. Thank you so much!

Well I want to say this is probably the most professional and nice experience I ve ever had with an automotive place. I asked him if he could help me fix my windshield wipers looks like there was tons of people in there getting stuff . He came right out and fix it for no charge and then recommended me a place to get new blades. Such a great experience will be back for other services that he offersService: Auto glass repair

If you want an honest mechanic, look no further. AAA recommended him to us when we wanted an honest, objective opinion about the repairs our dealer recommended on my wife's Honda CRV, including a $400 axle replacement that they said we needed right now! My wife was scared to even back her car out of the driveway! Dale and his mechanic inspected our car and gave us an honest, objective opinion on what repairs were really needed. And guess what, the axle replacement is not an emergency as the dealer warned. You can trust Dale! We will be taking our car there, instead of to the dealer for future service!

My 1999 Trans Am's Master and Slave Cylinders went out on the transmission and he took my car in the same day. He was honest and forthwright with the options I had for the car and didn't even charge me a diagnostic fee to look at the car. He had my whole car repaired for a very reasonable price considering he had to rip out the entire transmission to do the work.Once all the repairs were complete he took the time to explain what he had done and gave me tips to maintain the car to avoid such problems in the future. Even after I had paid him for the work he spent time talking to me about whatever and didn't try to rush me out the door. He's a very honest and good mechanic and I will never take my car anywhere else so long as he is in business.As someone whose worked in the service industry I know there are a long line of dishonest and not so good service workers out there in both the automotive and other industries. Don't be fooled by his somewhat messy shop and lack of 'state of the art omg that's so shiny' equipment. Dale knows his cars and will get you taken care of in quick order. No one likes to get their car repaired but Dale makes the process as painless and easy as possible.

A few years ago, my car broke down in Lawrence. I got it towed to Firestone and they fixed it, but it broke down again months later in Overland Park. Again, I went to Firestone and went through their hoops.I finally decided to get away from corporate and talk to Dale. He uses higher quality parts for an affordable rate and isn't going for speed when fixing your car. If he fixes your car, you know you're getting it done right. I have had no recurring issues since going to Dale.I know nothing of cars and that's an understatement. I got my car when I was just learning how to drive and had no comprehension of car care and that adds up. But Dale's passion and knowledge of automotives was enough to make me change my habits.

Dale has repeatedly taken care of all the cars in my family over the last twenty years. He has always been trustworthy, knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and an all-around good guy in an industry that can be a bit daunting. I feel like I've really lucked out not having to worry about my car care needs thanks to Dale.

My wife's car started running really bad and I usually fix my own cars. After I did a complete tune up, it still ran bad and I decided to take it to a shop. This bothered me greatly since I had worked for an auto parts company a few years ago and know what goes on in these mechanic shops from the inside. I have delivered and sold parts to shops in Olathe, Lenexa, and OP. Then I remembered Dale and the fact that he only uses the high end, high quality parts so I took it to him. Other shops might be cheaper only because they use the cheap crappy parts that half of are defective and the other half wear out in a few months. I know this from first hand experience selling parts to them. I have enough horror stories to write a book about it. A shop uses crappy parts, charges you 50 bucks cheaper than anyone else and you think you got a good deal. The cheap part goes bad, you take your car back and they replace the bad part for free but tack on a processing fee or something. They get the new part free under warranty and file what is called a labor claim against the supplier and get paid to do the job again. Its a process that creates twice as much work for the shop at the customer's expense. Dale doesn't play that game! I got to know Dale by selling parts to him and he always insisted on the top end ones. Long story short, we took the car to him in the morning and picked it up later that day completely fixed with two new solenoids that I would have never figured out. He is the only guy I trust out of over 100 shops in the area!
