I have been going to A-1 Auto Repair, 815 Railroad Avenue, Leavenworth, Ks, for over 15 years. They are honest, friendly and know how to fix your car correctly. I have referred several of my friends and co-workers to this business. It is a very reputable business.

I had just used their service when my 08 jeep jku needed a starter while my son was off for 2 days. I really appreciated the fact that they accepted CarShield warranty, was able to start the work within the next day, worked quickly and kept me informed even though I live in North Carolina. I am forever thankful to Rob and the crew for everything. I told my son we need to keep this shop on our contact list since he has 2 more years at Fort Leavenworth.

My Nissan Versa was experiencing a grinding noise and vibration from the right rear tire. A-One quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad hub and spindle and burned-out bearings. They quoted me a very reasonable price and had the car repaired in a single day. They also provided a military discount on the labor. This shop is professional and up-front on repair costs. I'll be going back to them as a long-term resident for any further repairs for my family vehicles.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Took my car in because I had a water pump leaking. They told me on my PT Cruiser that if I was replacing water pump that I should also replace timing chain. I went ahead and had them do the work. Cost me $1400. My car ran hot the day after I picked it up on highway 70..which was 30 miles away from home and their shop. Before I could have the car towed, the city had it towed that day. I called to see if the shop could help me, they were very rude on the phone and said it was my fault that the car ran hot and they were not responsible. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. I ve never been treated like this in my life. I rarely take my cars to the shop and this is the main reason why. A1 is a very honest business that explains in detail what the issue is and if you can afford to skip it depending on your situation and the vehicle's condition. They do not perform services without permission and have serviced my vehicle time and time again. Just got the car back, got it right before they closed and not only is my Heater whining at anything above a 2, but my brake lights won't turn off. I gotta go to work at 1:30 a.m., this is not cool, my battery is gonna be dead in the water before I can even go to work. No one is answering their phones: I did not pay you guys $1,130 to break my car even worse. My new windshield you guys just replaced because It needed resealed, still has red tape along the tops of it. Was told not to take it off 3-4 days, and the seal is curling up.Came out at 8:30 a.m. the next morning and jumped the car to get it back to their shop, fixed the brake clips that had been accidentally jostled when they were putting paneling back on and well as fully recharging my battery. Did not charge me a thing, and picked me up to bring me back to the shop.Services: Auto glass repair, Oil change

Have been my mechanic for 14 years. I haven't lived in Leavenworth for 6 years and I still drive from Kansas city ks to have them do ALL my repairs. Great service and well equipped and knowledgeable on ALL car service needs. TEN THUMBS UP

I was told to come in on a Friday 7/2 to get my car looked when I got there they didn't remember and told me to come back on Wednesday 7/7 the next week. I did so dropping my car off at 9 am. Called back at around 2:45pm to check on progress was told nothing had been done and they probably wasn't getting in that day. I decided to get my car because I don't have that kind of time to just and nothing happen, when I got there had an employee go off on me for wanting to get my car because they did nothing in 6 hours. He told me I would never understand anything because I am not a mechanic and that I only gave them 2 hours to work on it. The employees couldn't remember talking to people or was rude total unprofessional would not recommend and will never use them or try to use them again

Friendly, but don t know what they are doing! They seem like honest, straightforward, good people, but their work is the worst I ve seen.I took a older van there to have leaks repaired. I spent over $1500 and it was still leaking all over my driveway. They flushed the transmission, which they should have known better not to do on an old van and within a month the transmission completely went out. It s okay, only out about $5000.Later, I took my Honda Pilot to have the rack and pinion replaced because I was leaking power steering. Here I am about 4 months later leaking power steering like crazy. It s okay just out another $1000.

My family has been using them for 10 years and we were loyal customers up until now. My husband brought his car in to get the AC fixed a year ago, paying $800 to get it done. He only had three times where the AC worked before it stopped working completely. While they fixed the fan, they did not complete a thorough diagnostic to where they could have found the true source of the AC issue. When they finally identified the problem a year later they refused to take ownership of this huge miss identifying it as bad luck and instead said they would have to charge another $800 to get it fixed when it should have been fixed the first time. We will no longer be coming to this auto shop and will make sure to tell our family with 6 cars to go somewhere else. I m sad that this is how they conduct business with loyal customers who drive many miles to Leavenworth just to use their services.

Ron and his guys are the BEST. Though I don't live in Leavenworth anymore I will never take my car anywhere else, even for something as minor as an oil change. They have done great work on my car(s) for the past 7+ years, on jobs ranging from simple oil changes and tire rotations to major automotive repair work. They are honest and upfront with you throughout the whole process, and their communication is top-notch. They consistently go above and beyond the job description in their workmanship, and I always feel as if I receive my money's worth and then some dealing with Ron & A1. Absolutely recommend this place to others.

The WORST experience with a repair shop. Brought car and parts in Dec 2nd bright and early, that afternoon i was told it was started and should be done the next day. The 3rd evening time i called and asked progress and they said they haven't even touched it, and it wouldn't be touched until the next week. I picked up my car and brought it back the next week. Asked, again, for balance, alignment, check fluids, install resistors, fix rattle, install trunk lid.. after another full day, the installed resistors for $400 And changed my BRAND NEW oil and filter when I didnt ask for an oil change. Ridiculous! Also apparently they don't even do alignments but didn't bother saying anything because the only thing the guy at the desk can say is "Copy"Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment

Super helpful service. Ron and his crew can figure out any odd problem! I have taken many German cars to him that we can not figure out and he always does. Honest and reasonable. I could not be happier. I recommend lots of people here!

Revised - They came out the next morning, jumped my daughters car, took it back to the shop and found the problems causing the lights to drain the battery. They repaired the problem and were able to explain to my daughter and answer her questions.They "fixed" my daughters heater, let her drive the car home... all the while the brake lights are on - will not turn off... Wont answer phone, battery will be dead by morning, and now I will have to pay to tow it somewhere that can fix the mess they made.

They work hard to make sure your car runs right. Trustworthy and dependable... I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. I appreciate the 10% military discount as well. If you're looking for auto repairsA-One is place to go!!

Only place in town that had the size tire that we needed as a replacement. Quick and gracious about the whole procedure. Save the old tire for us so we could get the refund.

I have an engine replaced in my 2000 Subaru Impreza. The pricing was very fair. They did the job in a reasonable time. I was also very impressed with how much they worked with me in fixing problems that came up while doing the job. I will be going back for future mechanical problems.

Not what it used to be as a new generation takes over. Last time they had my vehicle they kept it a week before telling us they couldn't do the repairs. Marked they had done an oil change and didn't.We like Ken's downtown.

They were very attentive and had little issue in finding the problem. I am still not sure how my bill added up to what it was but they did come back and forth and tell me what they were finding out at it happened.

Ron is a fair, honest technician. He has a ton of scan tool equipment and can figure out pretty much any problem that comes up, real decent pricing and won't try to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need.

Repair took a bit but was interrupted by a weekend and getting parts for my car wasn't easy. Very timely diagnostic of the problem and repair once diagnosed. Fair priced.

Best Place in Town. Techs know what they are doing and always make sure the customer is satisfied. Recommend this shop 10 out of 10. Great people great work and great prices
