Went in a week ago to get an oil change and they told me my rear brakes needed fixed so I made a new appointment for that. Now suddenly my serpetine belt is torn and my tires that they marked as having 8/32 tread a week ago suddenly have 3/32 tread. I am also starting to wonder if they caused the brake issue as they werent squeaking before I took it in for the oil change but wete after. Also charged me $40 more than I was quoted with no explanation.

I would avoid going to meineke at all costs. They will rip you off any chance they get. And every inspection I got from there after getting my oil changed there was always something new wrong with my car apparently that would cost thousands of dollars to replace. I needed a new radiator and they wanted to charge almost $2,000 for that. Got it done somewhere else for $700. What a joke!

I had a crankshaft sensor replaced, I spent 1235 dollars. Right after they said it was done I took it for a drive and the same problem was still going on. Super frustrating after spending all that money and not being fixed. Not only that it was a giant inconvenience. I had to be late to work because I could not use my car. Also one mechanic was smoking half way in and out of my driver seat. They completely denied it regardless of me standing right next to the mechanic while he was doing it. Also when they finally fixed my car right I went and checked my engine bay because my ac was smelling weirdly bad and I found a smoked cigarette in my engine bay. You guys are charging like 200 a hour for labor is absolute garbage. I felt so uneasy about my car being there. I will never be going back again.

These people will rip you off! Blaine at the front desk will lie to you about anything to get your money! They took a whole entire 8 hours to do a tire change and alignment. And not to mention they skipped doing the alignment the first day and tried short me on the work done to my vehicle! I waste close to $500 on tires I did not need and an alignment they didn't even do at first! And they also left my car smelling like cigarettes!!Terrible experience!

I took my car here after an accident for a diagnosis. Not only did they fail to give me any reasonable option for making my car drivable, my car sounds significantly worse after the diagnosis! Almost like they intentionally made it worse! And they charged me for it!!UPDATE: Harris Auto Repair on 23rd is making my car drivable for less than a quarter of the price quoted by Meineke and they didn t charge me for an estimate! Thank you Harris!

I was having a brake issue on my jeep. I called them as I was driving down Iowa. They said they would squeeze me in for an inspection. I had worn through my brake pads and was on bare metal. A few month back I had gone to another place and said I hear things and my car rides rough. They sold me new tire no mention of brakes. Meinieke got me all fixed up. My regular quick change oil place told me to go there over the other brake places in town. I feel the pricing was fair and the service was fast.

My alternator went out and I replaced it myself. It still wasn't charging the battery . I had the alternator bench tested and it was good . I told meineke this when I asked them to diagnose the issue . Next day I get an estimate for replacing the alternator and belt for over $700. It was $70 for "diagnostic ". I took it to local shop and it turns out the belt was loose . I hadn't tightened the tensioner enough when I replaced the alternator. $50 he charged me . Either meineke didn't bother to check the most basic cause for the issue or they did and thought rather than just tightening the belt , they'd rip me off instead .

My new place of business! They are on your side. Jeremy went above and beyond to help me with my issues with a car I bought from CarHop. He listened to my concerns and made sure he had each and everyone on the service order. I received full report of the findings of the inspections along with pictures. You sign up for notifications and you get a full report from the mechanic of what is going on with your car. They are amazing! I recommend you to try their services.

They did what I hoped they would not. Thought I knew nothing about my vehicle and tried to tell me I needed all my rotors , pads and brake lines done. They are new as of June so I knew they were wrong. The picture he showed me of the one rotor was not even bad. For some reason he thought I wouldn't know what a rotor is supposed to look like??? Anyway they tried to charge me for all 4 rotors, pads and lines....top priced expensive kit of course..They wanted well over 1400 for it all. Even tried to scare me by giving me a bottle of brake fluid because it was too dangerous to drive??!!. I went in for an oil change? NEVER AGAIN.

I went into Meineke to have some things done because of my handicap. They changed my headlights. They really had compassion. I had a wonderful experience. I know I have sent other people to them and they always had good things to say. I will use them for any future issues.

We were traveling from out of state thru Kansas City, Kansas on our way to Colorado to Elk hunt, when our truck began having issues with our brakes. We googled locations for Meineke. My wife likes the tv commercial and called Lawrence Kansas the closest location. Dale listened and was very reassuring that they would do everything possible to get us taken care of and back on the road to Colorado. They worked us in when we arrived about 3:30 pm. After receiving an estimate to make necessary repairs on all 4 brake shoes, rotors, and flushing the following morning at 6:30, we were shuttled to our hotel and picked up when our truck was ready by Steve Oneill a great fellow who performed the initial inspection. We were more than satisfied with the professionalism and customer service Dale and Steve gave weary travelers far from home.Service: Auto brake repair

I dropped my car off Saturday morning, prepared to stay with it, and was told it would be a while, so I left. I proceeded to hear nothing from them until Monday morning when they had an estimate. Besides the very costly fixes I needed, I was quoted eleven hours of work.I called Monday night and was told it would be ready by noon on Tuesday.I called at 12:30 on Tuesday and was told "Maybe by the afternoon".Tuesday night, I called again and was told "Hopefully by tomorrow."Wednesday morning, my dad called and was told, "It should be done today." It took my dad saying he would drive seven hours from Colorado to talk to them in person, and magically it was "The car will be done by tonight". So, my 11 hours of work took a total of three business days (not including the two days my car sat in their parking lot). To top it all off, when I finally got my car back, there was bird poop dead in the middle of the driver's side window. I would choose literally any other place in Lawrence than here.Never. Again.

Absolutely the worst place ever to take your car. I have a 2019 equinox that has a transmission problem they said that they test drove it and that's crazy because I had 107 miles till empty when I dropped it off two days later when I pick it up there's still 104 miles until empty you tell me where they test drove my car!!!!

Went in because I kept having to top off my radiator coolant. They performed a pressure test and the radiator failed. They quoted me somewhere around $900 to have it replaced. Turns out, my reservoir cap had bad threading and wasn't producing a proper seal. Ended up just needing a new cap. It was an $18 fix. They either don't know what they are doing or know exactly what they are doing. Either way, I'm not going back. Buyer beware! As an edit, I was topping off my reservoir every 2 weeks or so. It's been a month and I haven't had to touch it.

The manager was very pleasant and honest with us. He even took us out and showed us the problems, which by the way, we're less extensive (and significantly cheaper) than 2 other shops had told us. We've driven the car for a week now, it drives the best it's driven since we've owned it. I had to wait there to get the work done and the lobby was a little small, but it was clean and comfortable. Fresh coffee at 8 am, I'll take 2. Overall it was a good experience. I would have given 5 stars, but the bathroom was a little dirtier than I'd like. I did see an employee clean it about lunchtime.

Had to have a full front brake job on a truck, back drum brakes are shot. Guys did a great job getting the vehicle in and out, same kind of quote I found everywhere else online. Super quick fix and I was able to get to work faster than I anticipated. Only issue I have is that when I left I noticed the brake pedal dropped almost to the floor, stopped but very squishy. Went home, came back to the shop and told them about the issue. Had plenty of excuses, blah, blah, blah, it's fine it'll correct itself. I work in Olathe. Appreciate the work in a timely manner, but I have an 11 year old that my SO drives to school in the morning. I'll make sure to get a proper jack/jack stands and replace all the needed parts myself next time. Still 5/5 stars to the young man helping me through the payment process. Dude has the patience of a monk.

Solid guys, great explanations, great repairs, exceptional customer service, and good price.I went in because of a rubbing/grinding coming from my rear passenger tire. I figured it was a bad bearing. After they had taken it apart, they found a bigger issue than originally anticipated, and realized it would cost more in parts than they originally quoted me. They called me, explained the situation while describing the pictures they took, and even were able to bring the cost back close to my original estimate. These guys have always done right by me, and take the time to do the job right. They are quick and efficient, and probably the best price for a mechanic in town that can do the job quickly to boot.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Auto maintenance

I went in for an oil change a while back and after I left I ended up with an oil leak. Meineke said my oil filter assembly needed changed at a cost of $1,900. The oil leak killed my alternator which I repaired at Meineke for 1,300. I then took my jaguar to a European specialist to look at the leak. They informed me that during the oil changed Meineke failed to put in the o-ring which caused the oil leak. The cleaning and o-ring replacement cost me 714. I m going to need new belts as well due to the leak which I have an estimate at $740. All of this has been due to Meineke s negligence with my vehicle. So as of now before the belts I have paid over $2000 just because they failed to do an oil change correctly. I m in the process of contacting an attorney due to this and I have expert analysis stating it was due to the o-rings and Meineke failing to make sure the items were installed correctly. I have tried contacting them with no reply. I do not recommend this business.Service: Oil change

I went there after purchasing a Groupon that gave me a discount on 3 oil change and tires rotated. The second time I went in I asked if they would check one tire that had a slow leak. They told me they couldn t find a leak. When my husband had to air the tire up later it was in the same location as the leaking tire had been. When I went in yesterday for my last oil change and tire rotation on the Groupon I told them I didn t think the tires had been rotated the time before they told me they were sure they had. After they had finished servicing my car and I paid I went out to my car to find the tires still not rotated. I went back in and was told I m sure they were to which I responded I marked the tires before I came and they are still in the same spot. They then told me they would get right on it. They took my car back and pretty soon they came out and asked for the key to my lug nuts. I totally forgot that I had locking lug nuts and even though I waited in the waiting area nobody had ever asked for my key. After they rotated my tires the guy brought me my keys and I told him I didn t think my tires had been rotated any of the 3 times I had brought my car in because nobody had ever asked for the lug nut key before and he responded Probably not. We get busy and sometimes forget. If a business tells me they are doing something I expect them to do it. Not forget. Especially not 3 times in a row. I won t be buying any more Groupons for them. They have lost my business. Because they didn t rotate my tires appropriately I will need to buy new tires sooner than if they had done their job!

I absolutely love this location! And the new GM Byron is amazing! He is super helpful, very very polite and kind, and just makes it feel like a homey atmosphere when bringing your car to be serviced. Thank you so much to Bryon Polley and Meineke in Lawrence! We are proud to bring our Mountaineer to you guys for whatever service is needed

They intentionally caused my brake caliper to leak. They showed me the leak in the shop but when I get home no leak evidence anywhere from where the vehicle sits. They run the price up on you and assume you don t know anything about vehicles.

I went in yesterday to have my starter looked at. After trying to start my car several times and it working I was told there wasn t anything that appeared to be wrong. Despite me asking for a diagnostic test or trying to explain what was going on several times I wasn t being listened to. They offered to change my starter even though they didn t know what was wrong (it hadn t even been taken to the bay). The part they had quoted me to replace was also $600 cheaper at several local stores I had called. After finally doing a test it ended up being my ignition which they couldn t work on. I wouldn t be leaving such a low review if this was my first bad experience. The first time I came here for an oil change they tried to sell me a new batter that my car didn t need. The next time I went in I needed major brake work. They tried to charge me $100 for a brake cable that I ended up not needing. After all the work was completed on my car that time they had incorrectly attached my brake line causing it to leak. When I went back in to get the leak fixed I explained that my brakes had just been worked on but instead of actually looking at what was previously done I was quoted $900 to have the same work done again. The kicker? All that was wrong was my brake line hadn t been properly attached. I ve come here several times but I won t be back. I recommend looking at other places for better service and better prices.

After going to 4 different mechanics who charged me hundred of dollars to not fix my car and to do minor repairs I didn t ask for, I took my car to Meineke to get an oil change and new windshield wipers. I walked away understanding what had been happening with my car, the problem fixed for a quarter of the price I had been quoted at other places, and with a payment plan in place so I wouldn t have to pay the full cost up front. Slavi was super helpful and really thoughtful in explaining what they would be doing to my car. I can only give a 5 star rating, but 10/10 would recommend. I m loyal for life.Services: Wiper blade installation, Oil change

Fast, super professional, knowledgeable, mindful, reasonable staff and it's not a step away from the advance auto parts store on Iowa Street next to dairy queen, so you have all the parts on hand, several certified mechanics, free services next door, and accessories for my car too. Plus i can have an ice cream in the summer heat too?! YES!

I think most women know the fear of going in to get your car looked at, and the reality that you ll probably be charged more just because. Well that fear came true here!! I feel as though they charged me more because I went in alone and I don t know anything about cars. He asked me what I usually pay for my oil change and I told them I pay $50 total including tire rotation and oil change. They charged me $65 for just an oil change and charged it as the more expensive oil change rather than the $25 oil change coupon I went in with.Otherwise service was great and quick. If they had taken the time to explain the difference to me or explain why I was being charged so much more it would be a different issue, but they didn t.Service: Oil change

Went in for a quick oil change and waited for 45 mins then asked the manager how it was going and he said they needed to order a drain plug. 30 mins later I went to go look myself back there and the technicians are all just sitting, smoking, and eating. When I asked the manager a second time he said he would send a technician to drive to get the part. 30 mins later the part got here and they started on it right away . Then at the end, they told me that next time I could tell them what kind of car I was bringing in so they could start ordering the part sooner as if they would ve ordered a part without looking at the car first. Not going back here bc they just don t seem to care and didn t discount at all for the poor experience. Took more than 2 hours for an oil change and they were not busy at all.

It was good. But was very expensive. I'm sure what they did to my car was just as expensive anywhere else. Tough to live on Social Security and pay for everything these days.

As a consumer, it was a very bad experience and the next time I need service I will go elsewhere. The manager is extremely rude and yelled at me just because I did not accept a credit card. And also, they did not do the tire rotation that I asked for, delay in completing the engine service, and multiple calls, and messages from the manager asking for the second part of the payment even though the car was still in the store for service and we agreed to pay the second part only when the service was done.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Transmission replacement
