Need a great dealership where you ll feel welcomed, heard, and never pressured? This is your place to go!My husband and I came here after experiencing poor service at a nearby dealership. I wasn t too keen on car shopping anymore but I m SO glad we decided to car search here! Our salesman was Jarell, he seriously needs a raise! He was very informative, he shared his thoughts and experiences when it came to the cars, he spent as much time as we wanted looking at a car, and answered our thousands of questions without hesitation. As first time car buyers and parents we were nervous when it came to such a large purchase and safety! We have a young toddler and newborn and we were eager to find something spacious and safe! It s safe to say we found a great car and an even better dealership! We bought the Subaru Forester and are very impressed!Kyle the manager we spoke with was great as well! (Same with all other interactions between other employees)Just some extra notes we really appreciated-*has nothing to do with cars, just kindness*- Jarrell and Kyle were so great and understanding when it came to our crazy toddler, offered him snacks and toys, we also were there past dinner time and they allowed us to grab our dinner and eat while we waited to go through final paperwork!All this to say if you re looking for a car this is a place I would highly consider you checking out!

What an awesome experience! Jerry did a fantastic job finding me the perfect car. There was no pressure to up-sale, he listened to my needs, and me feel comfortable about the purchase I was making. The whole team was very friendly. This is the place you want go for your new Subaru.

What an incredible group of people. Everyone was very helpful and involved during my visit. The Manager Siam, came out and did a phenomenal job of simplifying the entire car finding process. He was extremely patient and provided clarification to every question I had, without making us feel pressured! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We went in to McCarthy, looking for a car for my wife, after visiting another Subaru dealership and having a less than ideal experience. Told them up front that we were coming in to test drive a certain type of vehicle and had no plans to purchase that day. The salesperson that we first dealt with had plans with his kids, informed us of that and made arrangements for us to speak with another salesperson. When we arrived, he greeted us and made arrangements for us to drive the vehicle, despite working with his own customers. Quick, easy and without a bunch of "Let us be in control" tactics that we had experienced at the other dealership. We drove the car and my wife loved it. Then all we had to do was pick between a couple of options. After a bit of discussion, we were ready to move forward. My wife, who was very put off at the other dealership, was comfortable. She, who wouldn't consider purchasing on the first visit to any dealership, was ready to buy. We never felt a hint of pressure or attempt to control. The whole process was relaxed and one of the more positive car buying experiences that we have encountered. One of the things that I consider very important is that the salesperson that we dealt with put the sale in the name of the salesperson that we first spoke with, who had plans with his children that evening. They work as a team, not as individuals out to take care of themselves.

Super easy to work with & had no issues with pricing. They all were so willing to ready to make sure all my needs were met in a timely manner. Siam in particular helped me a lot to make sure the vehicle was in perfect condition before making a final decision! Would recommend them & definitely ask for siam to get you in contact with the right person for your next car!

Probably one of the worst service centers/mechanics I have taken my Subaru to. I had been taking my car here for routine maintenance and it seemed good enough. Then they diagnosed my car and quoted me at over $4,000. I took it to two other independent mechanics and they confirmed that the mechanics at McCarthy Subaru misdiagnosed my car and the repair was only about $400. I then had to bring my car back here for another repair because they were the only mechanics who could fit me in last minute. They diagnosed the issue and did the repair, and then called to tell me that their original diagnosis was wrong and they had to add on another repair costing over $1500. I said no, waited and took it to an independent mechanic. Again, they were trying to push a repair that wasn t needed. I genuinely love Subaru as a company, but this dealer should not be trusted in my opinion. Just sharing my multiple bad experiences.

Awesome place to do business with. Everyone was friendly and helpful through the whole process Jerry our sales person and Siam the sales manager worked with us to ensure we got exactly what we wanted for the price we wanted. A+ Will definitely do business here again. The whole entire staff was awesome they even introduced us to the service team.

When I came in to drop my car off for service I was met by Kyle he was so friendly and informative, then Katie at the service desk dealt with all my questions and was so sweet! She even helped get me to and from work with their shuttle my drivers were Riley & Drew and we had the most pleasant conversations. I am so glad to know I can feel safe and taken care of by the staff, will definitely be doing all my business here. Thank you!!

My son recently purchased a new Subaru from McCarthy Subaru in Lawrence and the total buying experience was phenomenal to say the least. Siam was amazing. He went above and beyond in every way to make this buying experience 2nd to none. Kudos to Siam and his team for being such professionals throughout the entire process. This was the best car buying experience we have ever had. We worked with Andrew who was fantastic. We never felt pressured at any time, he took time to answer all of our questions, gave us time to discuss car options, and worked with us on the price. We ended up with a 2024 Outback Onyx XT and love it! Also a shout out to Kyle, we appreciate so much his no pressure approach and going through the finance portion was quick and easy. Would highly recommend this dealership!

Updated Review 3/8/24Last year we purchased a 2023 Forester - Sadly with only 12K miles on it we started to hear a noise coming from the front of the car. We made an appointment to have it looked at: there was something wrong with the front differential. Being a CVT setup the whole unit needed to be replaced. We brought it in on a Monday, got a loaner vehicle and Friday afternoon we had our Forester back. While not the best news on our vehicle, it was diagnosed and fixed about as quickly as one could hope for. Everything was covered 100% under warrantee. The service department was quick. efficient and treated us well. Thanks everyone.Updated 3/13/23 belowAlthough the dealership itself has changed hands over the years, I've always gotten my Subaru's from this location. McCarthy has taken the dealership to the next level it seems. I had to take my Impreza in for a service. The new facility is larger and modernized. I was taken care of quickly and my car was done way ahead of the scheduled time. Nice work guys!Update 3/13/23Well, we got another Subaru on Saturday (#16) the second one since it's been changed to McCarthy. We got a 2023 Forester Limited for my wife. We traded in our 2013 Outback. It was a great car with no issues, but after 10 years it was time for a Subaru. The new safety features now are way more advanced. We had a great sales experience but full disclosure, my son Peter is a new salesman there now. He's recently moved from another McCarthy dealership. I'm glad he's at a Subaru Dealership now for obvious reasons. I only buy Subaru :) We've had so many over the years he's extremely familiar with Subaru by default. It doesn't hurt that he's on his third one himself. I've taken a few new photos of the showroom, it looks like they have done a few nice renovations since I got my last Subaru there (2019 Impreza Sport) It's a pretty nice set up. Shout out to Grace for helping us with the finance part. Everything went smoothly all round. ~peaty

I would definitely recommend the McCarthy Subaru dealership in Lawrence, KS. Their staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly dedicated to helping customers. Jarrell was so very knowledgeable that he was able to help my sister (another satisfied Subaru customer) with a question on her 2022 Crosstrek! Spencer set me up with the particulars concerning my new car, and even took a picture of me with my car to send to relatives!Financing was a quick and easy with Kyle. I highly recommend anyone looking to buy a Subaru to go to McCarthy.

Had a great experience with McCarthy. Found the exact model we wanted online and contacted them about our trade in value. They gave us a great price on our trade, and matched another dealers price on the particular car we were looking at. Jerry made the process very easy by having everything ready when I got there, so I was able to get in and out in under an hour.

Jerry and Kyle were both so helpful. Our car broke down and the motor was done. My husband and I went in not really knowing what are options were or what we would qualify for. Jerry helped us find the perfect car for what we were needing. Kyle got us set up with a good plan so I don t have to stress again if the car ever does break down.Wonderful people! Dealership keeps getting better and better... Speedy service, They kept me advised as they performed the 60000 mile maintenence and even texted a video of my car as they walked through their inspection...even accepted a Subaru competitor's coupon discount...round trip in town shuttle allowed me to work at home rather than sit for hours in their waiting room...it was also a pleasure to visit with Riley who operated the shuttle back to the dealership.Overall, a good experience and one that I'll repeat in the future.

The best car buying experience I've ever had. We had test driven some cars already so we had a good idea of what we were looking for but Jarell went above and beyond. We went their website to look at inventory and said we'd like to be contacted. Jarrell sent us a video of him in the lot showing us cars we'd like. We set up a time to meet, test drive a couple of cars to be sure then met with Kyle for the actual purchase. They were all great. I'd much rather drive 2.5 hours to go to the Lawrence Subaru instead of our local Wichita one. Definitely a different vibe there. Not as friendly and at least at this time a better selection too

I stopped into McCarthy on a whim one evening shortly before they were set to close. I had just been to another dealer nearby and won t name names, but the experience was night and day different. Jerry took time to listen to what I needed in a car, learn my budget and payment options, and quickly found a solution that worked for both of us. They have competitive, transparent pricing and offered me a good value on my trade. I think lol. Not that there is much room to negotiate in today s crazy car market, but I didn t really feel like I needed to haggle.Everyone there made me feel valued, and the deal went through quickly and relatively painless. My experience wasn't great. I had an appointment for an oil change and it took about 3 hours, despite being told it would be about an hour. I was quoted one price for the oil change online, then I was given a slightly lower price when I got to the dealership, and then I was given a higher price than both previous price quotes at checkout. It wasn't an experience that inspired confidence or a return visit for future services.
