Took my old subaru in for brakes and tires and it rides and drives better than it ever has. I didn't compare prices with other shops but I'm sure they're competitive. They used good quality parts and I like going to locally owned businesses.

Honest people. Great customer service. This will be my new go-to place in Lawrence. Auto shops with their level of fairness and honestly are hard to come by.

I needed a part put back on my fiat and they had it reattached for a very reasonable price within 20 minutes! They were very friendly and helpful and even allow you to schedule appointments via text - which is super appreciated!I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who needs car repairs done!Service: Auto maintenance

Scheduling was easy, service took a reasonable amount of time, and the cost was more than fair. Had them do an oil change and initial chassis inspection of a used Class C RV, which most shops don't want to touch, and they didn't bat an eye about it. My grandfather took his Chevy Impala here and requested for me to write a review for him. He was exceptionally pleased with the service at Garber from the women who runs the front desk, to the mechanics taking the time to explain in detail the problem, and how they repaired it. Garber offered great communication and collectively make a good team. My grandfather said he would come back again and would recommend Garber Automotive to those in need of a good mechanic shop!

The receptionist was pleasant and friendly and very detailed with my repair request. She's awesome!! Work on my 1979 280zx Datsun was done in a very timely manner and pleased overall with the work done. Knowledgeable technician's and attentive to my repair need's. We've used Garber Automotive two dozen vehicles (three kids and lots of new cars too) over the past 20 years with never any problems. Service was always top tier and fairly priced. I pretty much took any non-warranty work for the newer vehicles as well as all the older out of warranty vehicles to Garber Automotive except for any specialized work that they wanted me to take to a different shop, like front end alignment before they had their own setup.Services: Transmission, Electrical repair, Heating system repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Brakes, Ductless heating & A/C services, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

I'm extremely happy with Garber! I took my truck here to get fixed after a bad experience at another mechanic. The other mechanic couldn't figure out what was wrong with my truck when I brought it in but wanted to charge an astronomical amount to replace the struts and shocks (which they claimed were all completely shot). I politely told them to F off and contacted Garber about putting the quick struts and shocks on that I purchased elsewhere. They were extremely friendly and helpful and told me to bring the truck in.After I brought it in, I got a call the next day asking why I wanted to replace the shocks and struts because they didn't see anything wrong with them. I told them what the other shop said and they said they didn't see any problems that would warrant them to be replaced right away. They did inform me that the FL hub bearing was completely shot (which I specifically asked the other shop twice if they checked cause that made sense for the issue I was having) and offered to get the part and fix that. They were extremely fast and thorough and their prices were really, really fair!They have so much integrity and that's highly respectable, especially since it would have been so easy to take a few hundred from me. Even though they're completely across town from where we live, they'll be the only shop our family takes our vehicles to.

Our tow truck driver actually recommended Garber s. What a great recommendation! We had several issues with the vehicle. They understood our circumstances and worked with us to get the vehicle repaired as quickly as possible. Great customer service! Great work! We will definitely go back to them and recommend them without question! Great experience! Thank you!

I'm not a native but rather a transplant living here for work purposes, so I don't know the area or people well. However, I highly recommend Garber Automotive to anyone who has any type of car issue. They are upfront, professional, honest and priced reasonably. They have a very friendly staff who treats you with respect, in that they talk at you and explain the issue. They also have a comfortable waiting area. I own a 2015 Dodge Ram Bighorn pickup and the work they have done for me as been above and beyond. The team at Garber Automotive are amazing.It was hard finding a place in Lawrence I could trust to take care of my car, especially after dealing with the terrible quality of service provided by Briggs and another outfit in town.Taking my car to Garber was the best decision by far. They always take good care of you and the service is prompty. I recently had to have an alternator changed, they had the part received and installed in a couple of hours.Highly recommended.

I'm not an automotive guy. I could build you a computer, fix your Wifi router, etc, but change your oil? Helpless. Like a lot of us, I'm completely at the mercy of my mechanic to give me sound advice, be honest, and not overcharge or do unnecessary repairs to my vehicle.When you find a place like Garber, who gives you an estimate for service and repair, and then informs you that "Hey, we thought we would need to replace both widgets, but only one was broken... you owe us $600 less that we estimated"... when that happens, you know you are now their customer for life.Just be prepared for a wait to get their services, because lots of people in Lawrence already know what I found out - that Garber is simply the best.

You will not find a better shop for your vehicle repair needs anywhere. Service was amazing. Fast, honest and accurate diagnosis and turn around on the repairs I needed for my pick up. I ve used Garber for years now and I can honestly say I have never had an issue or bad experience. Paige is always happy and helpful and Micah is down right awesome. Don t waste your time going anywhere else.

Major props and a big thank you to Garber Auto! My son has my old Volvo at KU, and it wouldn't start or even shift out of park. I call the Volvo dealership here in OP and they tell me to put it on a flatbed and bring it to them so they can "check it out and determine what's wrong." I don't know how many hundreds of dollars that would've cost. I called Garber and provided the same info. They told me the battery is likely almost completely dead. The guy pretty much told me I could just do it myself and save the time and cost. He was right! When professional service really is needed, I'll definitely bring it to Garber.

Do not recommend bringing your car here. They told me they couldn t read my check engine light because of a blown fuse. I took it somewhere else telling them this expecting them to fix the fuse, to be told there is nothing wrong with my fuses and there was really no reason they should not have been able to read the code, aside from them not knowing how to or doing it wrong.

I hardly ever go online just to write positive reviews but for Gerber I will make an exception. They told me it would take 4 day's and cost $400 to fix my car (the cables that opened the hood were broken, and they needed to order new ones). I got a call THE NEXT DAY the part had come in and they had already fixed it, and it cost $100 less than predicted! You guys are amazing, far better than any of the dealerships in town!! Will definitely be back.

I have had my vehicles worked on by Garber Automotive ever since they opened. Unfortunately, their quality of work has diminished to unacceptable. I had them put in a radiator and hoses and they couldn't even tighten the hose clamps all the way. The car has been leaking fluid ever since the work got done. So I took it back to them and couldn't get somebody to look at until four days later I could of scheduled an appointment. Now they have so much business they could care less about their quality of work or when they get it done.

Everyone was very nice. Unfortunately, when I got my oil changed they were going to charge me 40 extra dollars for the oil my car required. I felt this was unfair, since I could pick the same oil up from Wal-Mart for 5 bucks a quart. They charged me 280$ for only transmission and oil change.. I expected a better price for the services. They did good work on my vehicle as far as I can tell and the staff were kind and welcoming.

I had to have the alternator replaced on my Ford Focus. Due to an odd configuration, the axle needed to be removed and while they were removing it, they stripped a bolt and had to replace the axle. Garber did this at no extra cost, despite the fact that it took two extra hours. Because of the honesty of Garber, I am now a loyal customer! They will be getting all of my business from oil changes on up. Thank you Garber Automotive!

I won't take my car anywhere else! I love that they have a rewards program for oil changes (buy 5 get your next one free) and Paige is always so helpful and keeps me company while I'm waiting. They always get me in and out quickly. I really can't say enough good things about this place

Had some issues with my transmission and he fixed some parts but it still didn t solve my issue. However he was nice enough to credit me some money to repair the whole transmission. However when I called to see if he was still willing to credit me I never got a call back after calling numerous times.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I had my vehicle towed there. They said they couldn't get to it until the following Thursday, so I was pleasantly surprised when they called me with a diagnosis one day early. Made an appointment in advance and they replaced my timing belt/water pump within one day. They noticed another belt was about worn out and replaced that for me too for my safety. First time here and am pleased with the hassle free process that it was. Not too bad of a price as well for a repair that I was dreading because it is always an expensive one.

Amazing service!!! I have had them work on 3 of my cars and they have been honest every time and very well priced. I usually don t have time to fix it myself so I have them figure out what I already know and fix it. I do not trust anyone else with my vehicles. Will definitely keep going back.

There are plenty of shops in Lawrence but I'll ONLY go to Garber because of the owner's (Micah Garber) very honest and friendly approach with his customers and how it is obviously being adopted by every person that works at the shop. I know for a fact that my vehicles will be diagnosed right and they will try to keep the expenses in mind.

Finding a good shop is hard. Finding a honest mechanic is even harder. Here is a LFK secret. Garber is both. Quick turn around. Full estimate about what my car really needed. Micah runs a honest shop. This is the only place I take my cars in LFK and I have lived here 20 years.
