I had a situation to where my Jeep went into a curb and caused damage. I had to do an insurance claim regarding repairs for my vehicle. I choose Briggs Auto Body because it was a Shop my insurance does business with, they had good review stars and it was the closest to my apartment. I had my vehicle towed there. My Jeep was in the shop from October 30th 2023 until about the middle of January 2024. Just about 2 and a half months. I never once received a phone call from the repair shop nor my claims adjuster regarding my vehicle, I always had to call one of them to get an update of the status. Only phone call I got was it was finally time to pick up my car. Every time I called Briggs I was always told that they had to order another part and waiting for the part to come in, or that they couldn't give me an exact update at the moment. I promise you I heard a new part had to be ordered at least 5-7 times, or I heard at least 3 times that their alignment rack wasn't working which was needed for my vehicle. I was very patient through the process even though I was very frustrated. I finally realized that I needed to ask for Sarah when I called in, because she was would at least give me a reasonable status of my vehicle and she was very nice. She is the reason I'm at least giving this 2 stars. I just think the whole communication process was very poor on their end, and that at least to me there shouldn't of been a reason to keep my vehicle for almost 3 months. I have dealt with other body/repair shops and have never had an experience like this with anyone else.

Not how I d run an auto body shop. My back bumper was hit and left in the parking lot last fall. Not a hard fix, didn t affect drive at all. I was convinced to get it worked on instead of attempting it myself. Took me about 6 months just to get an appointment, as it was rescheduled once. All in all, they added about $1500 than what was originally estimated, mostly due to labor. Conveniently, this was about the same time my insurance company confirmed I d only have to pay the deductible. Weird. I needed my car about 10 days after I turned it in, they said they d likely be able to get it done, then didn t. Every day I d call and id had apparently just missed the technician to give me a more accurate timeline one when they would finishing. Ended up getting my car two weeks after turning it in feeling both taken for a ride and inconveniently strung out, left with higher insurance rates and likely the most overpriced back bumper this side of the Mississippi.

Nope. This is not how you run a car repair business. Why would you let somebody set an appointment weeks ahead of time, and then tell them once they got there that you were going to keep their car for three weeks?I know I don t understand everything from your side, but the way you did this to my mom today was ridiculous. You don t leave an 82-year-old little lady without a car for three weeks with cold weather coming on.If you needed information about the car in order to order parts and paint so you would be ready to work on the car the week that she brought it in, why didn t you ask for that information so you d be ready to start repairs at least this week?At the very worst, this would ve been an entire bumper replacement. One part, ordered from the manufacturer, then painted the correct color, maybe 25 clips total on the thing? 45 minutes of work after paint, maximum? Seriously. If it was insurance holding you up rather than your inability to plan ahead, why would you not give someone the option to pay you a deposit ahead of time to get the parts, so that they could get the work done more expediently, then turn that receipt into their insurance company to get reimbursed? You ve got to know that you are inconveniencing people and making their lives much more difficult by not having your act together when they expect you to.We ended up taking her car back and we re going to take it somewhere else for this likely very minor cosmetic bumper repair. If what happened today turns out to have become standard procedure in car repair, I m swear gonna learn how to do it myself, because this is absurd. I might just get her a bumper sticker and we re done.I know you ve probably got excuses as to why you said to her you were going to keep her car for three weeks, but I don t want to hear them. Figure it out. Do better!I m very glad that my generation made Karen a verb.

The most professional body shop in town, indeed. I have dealt with many shops in and out of town, but Briggs Autobody has always been this one shop that only let their customers walk out happy. The manager, Jamie, and the staff working there are professional at what they do and customer satisfaction is their priority. Personally, I have always been cautious and careful with who I let work on my vehicle, but this shop has never put me down. They give their customers all the time to explain what they want done to their vehicles, they don't take any feedback or comments offensively, and they will always do you right. I am grateful to have worked with them, and recommend everyone to work with them as well.

Brought my car in for body work 9/13. It sat in their lot without work being done. Took it home and brought it back beginning of October after they guaranteed me the part was in. I still don't have my car and it is 11/8. Terrible service, rude and condescending personnel. They have never called to give me status of my car. I continue calling and never get correct information.

Seriously, do not go here. They try to charge for excessive fees like, shop towels . Not the most affordable place and not very professional either.

Unfortunately I hit a deer driving back in my brand new truck. Briggs gave me a detailed timeline on when my truck would be done. I had some discolored panels that I pointed out after the repair and they made sure that I was happy with the end product. They went above and beyond to address a situation when they could've turned me away. I am extremely pleased now with the final product and Jamie and company for making it right and fixing it the truck in a proper manner. I would recommend them to anyone.Service: Body & Trim

Changed to 1 star. I brought my car there in May '21 due to my passenger front wheel was damaged. It took days before I knew what was happening, they changed stories and I was made to fell like an annoyance for asking for an update. Now I'm in the shop again because they never put the undershielding back on so all the wiring that wasn't tucked properly is now damaged. $200 for the tow off the highway, $400 for repairs and waiting until September before I can get a new shield due to backorder. I know the shield was there because when I had garage access I worked on the vehicle myself. I only went there because I now live in an apartment and Free State was booked, I'll never make that mistake again! $500 I gave just for me to spend another $600 due to lazy negligence. As a single father this is not an expenditure I can afford and my frustration and anger are immense and cannot fully be expressed!

This is the best autobody car shop in Lawrence. I am very happy customer with them. Fixed two cars over here. One time with car insurance and another time out-of-pocket. Definitely returning back if issues happen. They charged $160 for fixing a dent in the door about 2 inches big Within less than one hour.Always ask for Sarah Cabanas, she s so positive and amazing.

The staff here went above and beyond my expectations! I had a brand new Kia K5 that was hit while parked and was pretty nervous bringing it in due to all the sensors and electrical items was nervous that they may not have dealt with them before and usually when it s a repair through insurance it s a hassle. I m beyond impressed with the work done as my vehicle looks just like it did before it got hit which is brand new! They got my sensors recalibrated and everything taken care of with little to no effort on my end. They dealt with the insurance company directly and ensured I got everything taken care of! Sarah made sure to update me as to when my vehicle would be ready even got it done early! Thank you all for making it an easy and painless process!Service: Body & Trim

We took our vehicle to get repaired back in July, while it took a couple more days than expected our car came back looking as good as the day we bought it. I was happy with the work done.However- 6 months later we received a check from the insurance company and there was no information on where it was to go. When we called Briggs the very next morning to find out if we have a remaining balance. The gentlemen who answered the phone was very rude about there still being a balance on the account. Briggs nor the insurance company never informed us we still had a balance, and it wouldn t have been a problem if we knew. He was very pushy about paying that account balance in full even though we called them to find out if there was a balance. It would be a 5 star review if it wasn t for how rude this experience was. However- fantastic and timely work on my car and I couldn t be more happy with that!

They told my friend they couldn t fix her car after she was threatened by the enterprise employee next door. You can t threaten to physically harm someone and expect for them not to say anything back. That whole building is trash.

I couldn t be happier with the service I received from Briggs Autobody! They did an excellent job on my Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the customer service was excellent. They were very accommodating with my night-shift work schedule whenever I had to correspond with them, and really made the whole process a breeze. It took a lot of my stress away. Jamie and Isaac - you two rock! Thank you!Thank you, Briggs Autobody!

Got body work done, that went through insurance. Did not know what I needed to do for the process, since it was my first time through insurance. They walk me through it on what I needed to do and expect from the insurance company. They re really knowledgeable and upfront on what to expect with the insurance company. Took longer dealing with insurance than my truck being in the shop. When I got it back it drove and look like it was brand new.Service: Body & Trim

I was very pleased & impressed with the work they did in rebuilding my front end of my car that had $16,500 worth of damage. The staff was friendly. I loved the fact how they always gave me updates on my car as it was being fixed. Have not had any issues or problems with my car since I got it back in January 2016.Great job & a big Thank You! :)

i had body work done on the front of my car last winter. When it got hot my a/c quit working and I noticed the ambient temp showed -40. Come to find out the sensor and harness was left out of the area where they did the body work. On top of it all, there were a lot of hardware that was left loose. Not very happy with the work.Service: PaintingService: Painting

This place was absolutely astonishing. Sarah was the most professional specialist I have ever seen. They worked with the insurance company and Enterprise (which is right next door) and figured everything out. At the end they even cleaned my car inside out. I have never had any experience like this in any bodywork place before. Amazing, 10/10!

Briggs Autobody of Lawrence did an amazing job on my car! The staff was so helpful from the minute I scheduled my appointment to the minute I picked up my car. All of my questions were answered and I felt so at easy leaving my car with them. I would most definitely recommend this shop to anyone in need of autobody repair. Thanks so much for this Briggs!

These folks are exceptional! Skilled professionals who perform with courtesy. I was very anxious about my car after near-total damage from an accident and they made it perfect again! Checked it, double checked it and readily fixed a post-repair noise with no hesitation.

I wish I could give this place negative stars. By far took forever to get my car fixed. While my car was in their care it as vandalized. What kind of body shop doesn't have cameras? I had to file bankruptcy so I didn't have to deal with the issues of the car anymore. Although Jamie the store manager is really nice and understanding I was really dissatisfied with the whole experience.

The people who work at Briggs are very nice and professional , usually not a long wait time to get your vehicle in to be looked at or fir repairs to start . The estimators will check everything that happened to your vehicle even partially getting under your vehicle to check for dmg .

Frustrated that what we were told was a 6 day body shop repair turned into over 3 weeks. Wrong part ordered, told it was sent to paint when it wasn't, then pushed back further because another customer was unhappy with their paint job. Had to keep calling for updates. Would not use again for body work based on the lack of communication and delays. Car dropped off on July 25 and returned to us on August 17.

I cannot recommend Briggs auto-body enough. I've had multiple vehicles in for work and the quality is so good that I actually use Briggs for any automotive paintwork I need. They've been able to do some complicated work for me. Good, honest bodyshops are hard to come by and I am grateful for finding one of those. Jamie is great and leads a helpful, polite, and knowledgable staff. They're also efficient which is cruicial as my time is valuable. 5 stars all the way!

Briggs Autobody failed to throughly check the damages on my car and gave it back to me in worse condition than the day I dropped it off. It was clear that they just wanted it off there hands and didn't care that it was still in bad shape. This put me in a bad position with the insurance company that was liable for the damage because it didn't look good that Briggs didn't catch all the damage from the beginning. They were not helpful or concerned with my siatuation. I think it's ridiculous that I brought it in for damage from an accident and they failed to throughly diagnos my car which has cause me tons of extra issues with getting my car fixed. DO NOT USE BRIGGS!!!!
