Brought my car to them because it was recommended by tow service. $3000 later I got my car back and it does not drive the same there s something wrong with it. There s vibration in the pedal and it has a weird sound when accelerating. I suggest going to a different transmission shop. We brought the car back to them and they said there is nothing wrong and they couldn t help.

Had a vehicle that decided to stop moving, contacted ATSI. A quote was sent to me very quickly, had a transmission ordered and on its way within 24hrs. Everyone kept in contact with me all the time and when they found another issue, they fixed it as part of the cost . Definitely will refer them to anyone with transmission issues. I regularly use a local garage for all of my vehicles, but ASTI price was lower and decided to go with them.

So the beginning of the year my 2018 Ford escape decided it's transmission wanted to die so I had it taken to atsi to get it diagnosed and fixed Gabby one of the managers there I believe worked hard and tirelessly helping fight and work on my warranty to get the service I needed and the coverages I needed to get my vehicle back to working condition and even fought them on getting me a rental hands down the best service and help I've ever received. I feel tbh that woman deserves a raise or recognition for her hard work and devotion

I paid over $5000 for a new transmission in February 2022. In less than two years the transmission went out again. They were bought out by another company, so they are not honoring previous customer warranties. Buyer beware.

My cars transmission went out suddenly, so I took it here. The customer service was great, they were able to take car of my car for much lower than expected, and it only took them a couple days to get my car fixed. To whom it may concern:We are from Colorado; My Son is attending the university of Kansas.while on his way about 9 miles from his apartment his car broke down. because I have no clue about any repair shops in Lawrence, I had my car towed to the first place I could find so they could diagnose the issue.2 weeks have gone by and still no word. I did some research and found this place called ASTI, I have called them numerous times and I must say if the auto service is as good as the customer service is I have no doubt I'll be one happy camper!hats off to Brittany, Amarachi, & Mariah.while I am far from getting my car repaired, the experience so far has been such a pleasant one, thanks to these 3 girls (Lady's)Thank you all.,

What a tremendous experience, I would highly recommend ATSI to anyone in need of car repair. My step-son was headed out to college and stopped in Lawrence to see some old classmates at KU. On his way to the gym the next morning his transmission went out. He drives a 2012 Subaru legacy. We called the dealer and they couldn t even see us for an appointment until over a week later and he had to report to school in 4 days. We saw ATSI and the good reviews and noticed they were not too far away so we called them and they said they could get us in same day for diagnosis! Sadly, they confirmed his cvt transmission had gone out and would need to be replaced at a cost he simply could not afford. He had scraped his Pennie s and worked so hard all year to get to college and he was devastated to say the least. This is where ATSI truly shined. They recognized his situation and discounted the cost substantially allowing him to use what little he had and borrow some from us to make it all work out. What s even better was initially they told him they couldn t repair it for over a week due to parts delays so he was in the process of looking to find a way to get all of his things to school and figure out how to get back to get the car. ATSI finished the car two days later allowing him to take off for school, arrive safely on time, and none of this would have been possible without stellar customer service and compassion. I ve worked in the auto repair industry myself and service like this is just hard to come by these days. What ATSI did and how they did it is a direct example of what all repair shops should aspire to be and a direct reflection of the character of the company and its employees. Although ATSI was always willing to get me in quickly, and the gentleman I spoke to was polite enough, I felt like I was given the run around several times. I dropped my car off for the day twice, but both times no work was able to be performed (routine flushing and replacement of transmission fluid). First they needed to order an adapter specific to my car then the machine crapped out and needed to be replaced. I was never contacted again so I'm unsure whether the new machine ever came in. I ended up taking my Kia to Anderson Kia in St. Joseph. They were finished in 2 hours and were cheaper than ATSI. I ve never had any issues there.

I can t begin to say how happy I am with the service provided at ATSI. RJ was my contact and he was very polite and thorough but here s the story.. I had a car go dead on 23rd St. I thought sure it was the transmission. I had ATSI do a Diagnostic test. Turns out it was just a loose battery cable! They still checked everything and it s all fine. Other places have been giving me estimates in the thousands (cough, cough) Big O tires in Lawrence.. but ATSI took care of me right. As a single mom I really appreciate that they didn t inflate the problem. Thank you so much RJ and ATSI. My tow guy also recommended them which says a lot.

I was referred out by Big ol Tires to have a left from let Axle Seal replaced by ATSI. Man an appointment 1 month prior. Upon arriving, I was not scheduled, the appointment had not been made. Then they proceeded to want to charge me $150 extra so they could diagnose the issue themselves. Basically not trusting Big ol tires. I called Big Ole tires about this and they were highly surprised to hear how much the diagnostic check was. So basically if you want work done, have them check first or you will be paying twice. Also be aware of a %3 surcharge for using a credit card, which is not told to you when making appointment.

Just like their website says, they make "no excuses" when it comes to covering work under warranty. They took care of our truck at NO COST to us! Great service and communication from the guys at ATSI.

I was quoted 10k at another Lawrence transmission shop to replace the transmission in my 2010 Jeep Wrangler. Duane charged a little under 5k and made sure to talk me through any issues he found. Not only that - when I got stranded with a loose coolant hose a month later, 5 hours away, Duane made sure to pay for and arrange to get my car fixed as soon as possible. The reception area does feel like you shouldn t be in there, as another person said. But the building is beautiful and Duane is superb!!Service: Transmission

They figured out my transmission leak very fast and for a reasonable price. Devon was great at explaining every step of the process and the mechanic (I believe his name was Steve) was very knowledgeable and fixed the leak with ease! We will be back for our transmission needs!

It was simply painless, nice employes,clean restrooms and waiting room with big screen TV. Very reasonable pricing and professionally run shop. Service department was also very clean for a working shop. Will definitely be returning for my service needs. All they need to do now is serve a free lunch.

Pros: way cheaper than getting it done through a dealership; very timely; fairly easy to schedule an apptCons: DO NOT go here if you're from out of town because they don't like anyone waiting in their waiting room. I was told several times that they don't 'prefer' people to be there, especially on Mondays. I drove 45 mins because I really liked the work they had previously done on my transmission. But after them making me extremely uncomfortable about needing to stay due to lack of other transportation, I'll drive to Topeka from now on to have my dealership do work.Service: Transmission

Had transmission rebuilt on a 1996 truck I just bought in 2011. A few days after rebuild it made a 1,200 mile round trip to retrieve a wrecked muscle car through the hills/mountains of southeastern Oklahoma on the Indian Nation Turnpike with no issues. In 2021 still going strong including hauling a 4,400 lb Chrysler 70 miles through the Flint Hills of Kansas and down I70 and a couple trips on that same route pulling an enclosed U-Haul trailer, loaded and empty. Sharp crisp shifts under load uphill, etc. Converter locks and unlocks confidently.Service: Transmission

Highly recommend! Lost a gear over the weekend while traveling and they had me back on the road with a new transmission by Tuesday afternoon, which is less than 2 full days of work! Super friendly, great prices, answered all of my questions, honest and kept my truck safe while it was at their shop.

Took my sons truck in to check what was wrong with transmission. Transmission had a warranty from another company wanted ATSI to look at it to tell me whats up before i contacted the people i had an warranty with. Duane found what was wrong with it same day. He never once tried to sell me a transmission until I asked him what he would charge to rebuild it. Waited a week for the company i had a warranty with to call me never got a call back. Said the hell with it. Send it to Duane he got us fixed up with a rebuilt one at a reasonable price and fast. Thanks Duane!

I have been going to ATSI for 10 years now and I have been very happy with their service. I was recommended by a friend. I am a business owner myself and understand good service. These guys have it!! Keep in mind good service isn't always perfect service. These guys make mistakes but they stand behind their work and that's what counts. I will always use them. keep up the good work Duane. These guys are amazing!! Went way out of their way to find the parts for our Mazda CX-9. They were calling dealers and parts centers all over the country. Calling us with regular updates. Car was delivered clean and drove like new!! Prices are also reasonable. My first stop now for auto needs!
