Extremely positive transaction!I found Hess and sons salvage online while looking for some obscure parts .On my first call, they answered all my questions. I had some request that they said they would need to get back to me with. They returned my call the same day with all my questions answered. This was surprising to me because what I wanted to buy was not very expensive.So , I inquired about some additional parts.They even voluntarily sent photos of one item to make sure I was ok with it before they shipped it 1/2 way across the country to me..I was going to request my order be shipped in two boxes to avoid damage.But that was not necessary as they already knew that needed to be done.I thought that the shipping cost was fair, although a little high.When I received both boxes on the same delivery, I was no longer questioning the cost of the shipping...Every item was individually wrapped beyond belief. I was extremely grateful for that as the parts are old, hard to find, and somewhat fragile.Best of all, Everything was in good shape and completely functional.Thanks for your help, and I would not hesitate to order from them again.

Jake did a great job communicating. I reached out for same week roll off dumpster rental, and he called me back promptly to coordinate. Pricing is fair and reasonable. We've rented from different places, and they've had the lowest price of any that we have used. Thanks, guys!

Working on building a scrap coal forge and went down looking for some old deep well brake drums. The guy in the office was super helpful and directed me down to the scrap yard and gave me instructions. When I got down there several people assisted me very well pointing me in directions where they knew stuff was and even climbing heaps where they thought something might be. Really friendly customer service and all around good people. Thank you

Called Hess & Sons Salvage for some parts to replace on a truck. They did not have 1 of the parts on hand and had to order it. I received a call just 2 days later and the part had come in. The part was an exact fit. When I went and picked up the part, I told them that I needed to look for a couple more parts. They printed off a map and showed me exactly where I needed to go. Very professional and quick to answer any questions!!!!

Had a great and easy experience/transaction selling scrap brass from my reloading hobby. Staff was easy to work with, their process was well refined and I was in and out fairly quickly. Would do business with again in a heartbeat.

Had a great experience at the yard. The guys who work there were pretty awesome. I got the bolts I lost while working on my Honda. The guys there really want to help a guy out. Really appreciate that

Friendly and helpful staff. One of them lived in the same town as me so they brought my part back with them. Saved me over an hour of drive time. They just went above and beyond for me as a customer. Part worked great too!

Rough around the edges, but to be expected from a salvage yard. What I can only assume to be the owner, was short on the phone, and in person, just seemed like a grumpy old man. But I was in and out quick, the picker that helped me was fast and knowledgeable. Prices seem decent.

I have been doing business with the Hess family for 20yrs. I have sold them scrap metal and purchased used auto parts from them. Treat people the way you want to be treated. I have always been patient and kind to the Hess family and they have gone above and beyond to be patient with all my needs. They have good prices on all their parts and pay top dollar for scrap. Thank you lanny, Jake and crew for all your help and professionalism.

Hess and Sons is a great place to bring your recycling. They take many different types of items from cans to cars and everything in between. The guy that runs the metals building, Matt, is very knowledgeable in metals and very helpful if you have any questions. The Hess's are nice people and easy to work with!

I m from the motor city in Detroit and this place blew all other pick and pulls out of the water!! Had exactly what I needed, very knowledgeable, friendly and great prices!! Definitely recommend 10/10 to anyone looking for used parts, projects etc.

To make a long story short we needed to get rid of one car from one car we went to two and even with those last minute changes they were able to help us still and they took both cars. The guy that helped us (Jake Hess) was super nice and helpful with us. Definitely recommend if you need help

Excellent service, and fantastic prices! They have quite a high volume yard, with tons of parts cars, and several dozen waiting for intake on my visit. Price for a pulled part was far better than the competitors, and even better when I pulled it myself.I drove 105 miles from Wichita to get my part, had my part same day, and still was cheaper than other dealers wanted just for the part! And I will take that trip again next time they have what I need!
