Excellent service! Assisted my daughter with same day quick repair of rental car when Hertz could not send anyone. Speedy service allowed her to continue on her way and make a flight in Kansas City. Thank you thank you thank you to Mike s automotive repair.

My son and I were on the way from SC to CO where he is stationed, and we re making the 3 day trip in his truck we were driving back. After a 14 hr drive, we stopped just before Russell KY, to catch a couple hrs of sleep. Woke up to find we had about 5lbs of oil pressure (that s what it read), and still had over 500 miles to get to our destination. We stopped in Russell and got turned away and pretty much told good luck driving the 29 miles to Hays. With no choice we hit the road and prayed. Made it to Walmart, grabbed a quick oil change, but had a feeling to try and find real help before hitting the road. God was listening and sent us to Mike s shop. His wife was unbelievably empathetic yo our situation, and told us to come right over. Mike took us right in, and his wife dropped us off at a local place to grab some food while we waited. Within 1 1/2 hrs he had us fixed up with an OEM part (oil pressure sending unit) and back on the road. He even cut his bill some to help. Cannot thank them enough for the kindness and sipped that they helped us. HIGHLY recommend !!!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Mike and Candy are amazing. We had a serious mechanical issue while driving through town and they prioritized us and got us taken care of and back on the road within a couple of hours. Couldn t have asked for better service!

Best repair shop in Hays ks.Very Friendly I would recommend if you need your vehicle fixed that you most definitely take it to MIKES AUTOMOTIVE AND REPAIR! THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE AND HONEST! I PROMISE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Mike's Automotive is AWSOME! I was headed to Colorado when I had a wheel bearing/hub go out. In and out within 2.5 hours and that's with them taking a lunch break. Bill was extremely reasonable and fair. Do not hesitate to call for service.

Our daughter and some friends were driving back to Virginia from Colorado when their truck broke down near Hays. The tow truck driver recommended Mike s garage and said that he dropped everything for people traveling to work on their cars. Not only did Mike get to the truck first thing in the morning and diagnose the issue, but he was great at communicating with us back here in Virginia, and his secretary Sandy even drove to the girls hotel to pick them up and give them a ride back to the garage to pick up the truck! Cannot recommend this place enough!! So thankful for Mike and Sandy making a stressful situation as easy as it possibly could be!Thank you!!!Sean and Michele Comer

My car broke down while I was traveling from Colorado to Kansas City. Lewis Towing towed my car here and I am so glad they did. Mike is amazing. I broke down on Sunday evening but he looked at it first thing Monday morning and had it ready to go that afternoon! I needed a mechanic for my son s car. I called Mike s and dropped the car off same day. They called a couple hours later with the issue & a great price! Service was completed within the timeframe they provided! Car is fixed & running great! We will definitely give Mike s a call for any future issues with our vehicles! As we travelled through Hays, my engine started having issues and we were referred to Mike's Auto repair shop. He not only found the time in his busy day to take a look, he fixed my car in record time. My girlfriend and I could finish travelling to Denver in that same day. It is a great place, great people, highly recommend! Thank you Mike!

My son was driving his VW GTI 2007 from Montreal and the last day of driving to Denver the car started to misfire. His girlfriend was clever enough to ask references from people at the highway service area. It was Mike's shop in Hays that came out. Well, my son had a very good experience as expected. Mike (I assume) found a little time window to have a look at the problem and did the repair on the spot. It was the first time my son had to deal with a repair shop as I always took care of his car (officially mine). I must say that I appreciate a lot that it was a good experience for him. Mike's Auto was incredibly helpful. I had a big trip that I was supposed to take my car on in 2 days, but my radiator cooling fan stopped working and my car was over heating. In October 2020, on the way to Colorado to visit family our RangeRover completely shut down with an alternator failure. As all of the lights on the dashboard went dark we dialed Mikes from I-70. They instantly began looking for the part we needed. Hays Kansas is not big, it also isn't close to much. Before arriving at Mike's we lost ALL power. We arrived by Tow Truck (Black Dog towing shout out!). Caitlin @ Mike's presented two choices of where, and how, to obtain the parts (Rover parts are notoriously hard to find). Caitlin not only secured parts for immediate shipping, she gave us - and our pup - a ride to the rental car office. We were able to make our check in time in Fort Collins. Our parts arrived ON TIME. Mike installed them immediately and we had the SUV back faster than we ever experienced in Indianapolis. The repair bill was lower than we would have paid at our local mechanic, we offered to split the difference with Mike, he declined. He said fair was fair. We have now put another 6,000 miles on the truck and it runs perfectly. Anywhere around Hays with an auto repair need? We had AC issues in the heatwave while driving thru KS. Everyone else told us there was no way. Not Mike he took the time to fix us on the spot! Great guy! Had us fixed and on our way in under 3 hrs! Thanks Mike's Automotive! Y'all are the best!

I cannot express how grateful I am for this garage. Was heading from Colorado to Ohio when my brakes decided to make that wonderful sound. Called them and they were able to change all four brakes and rotate my tires within an hour and I was back on the road. Would recommend them to anyone. It s times like this I wish I had friends in Kansas thank you so much Mike.Service: Brakes

I've used Mike's a couple times, and each time has been great. He just recently fixed a coolant leak on my Volkswagen, where he had to take a bunch of things apart and order a new part, and he still had my car back to me in two days after finding the problem. The prices are very reasonable, and everyone is very friendly and helpful in explaining everything.

I had a terrible vibration while driving on I-70 such that my car needed to be towed to a shop to be looked at. After reading reviews I decided on Mike's. I soon learned why they have so many 5-star reviews. Mike diagnosed my problem as a cut tire (on inside where it could not be seen) that was causing an imbalance and the source of the vibration. Caitlyn was awesome and even took our wheel to get the tire swapped out. I cannot say enough about Mike's as people and shops like this are few and far between these days. Mike is an excellent mechanic and very personable.Our BMW 740i broke down on an Easter weekend while we were traveling back to Michigan. Mike and his staff treated us like family: Mike not only got my car in first thing Monday morning, but his driver took me back to my hotel, and later picked me up and took me back to get my car! And Mike replaced the water pump in just a few hours.

Took my car in for a squeal and a check engine light. I was clear on the fact that I had already replaced the O2 sensor and wanted to figure out why that light was still on. I took the car in and missed a call while I was in class. Called back as soon as I was done and the lady informed me that the mechanic had replaced the O2 sensor. I was confused and asked how much that would be and she said $490. I was completely shocked and asked why they replaced it when it was under warranty she let me know that in order to further diagnose the issue they needed to??? I then told her that I would not pay that since 1. they never called me to let me know they were doing this and 2. It s covered under warranty. Why would I pay for the same part twice? She then told me it would be $290 since they had to remove and reinstall my old one as well as the price for installing and removing the new one. By this point I was pretty frustrated and also refused to pay that because again I never asked for them to do all of that? In the end I paid for the diagnosis that showed a faulty sensor. I got it replaced by my mechanic back home at no cost. I was more than glad to pay Mike s for the diagnostic which is what I dropped it off for, not for expansive repairs to be done without my approval.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Won t ever refer this establishment to any one unless you want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for just a simple Oil Change & a Tire Rotation. A Dealership doesn t charge the amount this Shop did. Lesson learned.

We are traveling throughout Kansas and the back hatch was stuck on locked. We called Mike and he got us in right away!! Fixed within 2 minutes and sent us on our way. He is amazing!!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Mike is very honest and calm. He got me back on the road with a new transmission after my van broke down en route to Denver. During the process he fixed a vacuum seal leak, which was causing my van to idle high.Hayley is the receptionist. She s very knowledgeable and gracefully facilitated the complicated scheduling while we were waiting for the transmission to arrive. She was very kind and reassuring every time I called for an update-which was often!During this experience I was out of state, as I had to leave my van behind to make it to a job on time. When I flew in from Denver to pick up my van, Hayley even offered me a ride!Mikes auto was a breath of fresh air after having my van towed from a not-so-savory smaller shop in town.Thanks guys for making me feel taken care of in a stressful situation!

When you see a automotive shop with all 5 star reviews, you know that they are doing things right.Mike's is a customer of ours, and from a vendor perspective, you wont find a better shop to do business with.Mike has years of experience in the automotive repair industry and is a wealth of knowledge.It is a pleasure to work with Mike and his staff. The quality of their work and the commitment to their customers is apparent in everything that they do.

Amazing experience, Mike was able to get the parts ordered quickly and get me back on the road in just a couple days and Sandy was kind enough to give me a ride to my hotel! Can t recommend them enough!

Great folks! Was looking for someone that worked on Honda s and they advertised so on there web page. I ve made an appointment with them twice and they were super helpful with transportation when I had to drop my car off. I had brakes+rotor and a timing belt service done in separate intervals and both times my car was done the same day. Will definitely come back for any maintenance. Mike was my mechanic for my son's car. We had a difficult time finding a mechanic we could trust to give us the right information. Mike's staff was so professional and friendly. Mike and his team did an awesome job with my son's car. I would not take my son's car any place else to get repairs. Super mechanic!!

Had car trouble on a long car trip...found this nice little shop. Mike found the problem right away and fixed it. We were back on the road quickly. His shop is clean and organized. Mike and his wife are very hospitable and sweet. Would definitely recommend!! Thank you!!
