Saw all 5s in the reviews here and decided to try it out. Only reason to get uncomfortable me giving it a 5 is will need to keep competing with others for their time! Serious - very knowledgeable, go to the root of problem and have not tried over-selling anything. Inspected the vehicle and thoroughly shared away. Took time to explain things. Just had to wait in line for appointment but that's what you get when their service is so good. Very happy to have found a great mechanic in Derby. Both Mr. Doug the mechanic and helper Tiffany served me very well.

Doug in Derby was recommended to me by someone who was aware of my 5 month nightmare experience with another shop in Wichita. After that 5 months, my car still sounded like a truck with exhaust fumes inside. Now, I will recommend Doug to others...fast and excellent exhaust system work, fair rates, no exhaust fumes, & and my car sounds like a car. Doug is the best! He has been taking care of me and my mom for years. I would not go anywhere else. If it doesn't need fixed, Doug will tell you. He's honest, the price is fair, and the work is excellent! But above that, he communicates, he's thoughtful, and it's truly the little things that count . A friend of mine had an ongoing problem with his car. He went to several mechanics with no solution. We got together last week for breakfast, and I asked him how his car was going. He told me he took it somewhere and they found a very simple problem that was easy and inexpensive to repair. This is the shop.

Knowledgeable, friendly, fair pricing. Didn't try to add-on unnecessary repairs or "mansplain" services that needed done to try to take advantage of my being a girl.That may sound silly, but it's a big issue and very frustrating when you should be able to trust your mechanic. Every time I look for a new mechanic in a new town, I have this problem and even experienced with local places in Derby that have very high reviews.Doug, on the other hand, is doing his job because he loves it and because he's there to provide a service not be a salesman. He's a straight shooter and won't sugarcoat anything, but he's trustworthy and does great work. Those qualities are already more valuable than saving a few bucks. Obviously car repairs are expensive, so it's a major bonus that he has the most affordable prices around of anyone that does the same quality of work.

Very dependable service. Work is completed in a timely fashion. Very trustworthy, I do not hesitate to send others his way. Will not do unnecessary repairs like some mechanics will do. And he is well versed on all vehicle makes / models. I've now used Doug for years, and I know if a repair is done on my work trucks or my personal vehicles, it needed to be done. And you always get an estimate up front which is great.I highly recommend Service Automotive.

Doug is the only person we trust to work on our vehicles. He is a very honest and trustworthy mechanic. He has saved us tons of money just by being honest and not doing things that aren't necessary. Mechanics can rob you blind by telling you various sensors or similar parts need to be replaced when they don't and you would never know the difference. Instead of replacing things that aren't really broke yet, Doug will do money saving things like clean the sensors and it always fixes our problems! I highly recommend him.

Many years ago, my truck was having trouble. Midas told me it would cost hundreds to fix the problem. Out of sheer desperation, I stopped in to Service Automotive on my way home and had the owner (Doug) evaluate the problem. It turned out to be a small leak in a air line and was a $5 fix. I've been sending all my vehicles to Doug ever since. No dishonesty, no inflated prices and he stands behind every thing he does. An exceptional shop and an exceptional person.

I use Doug and his service expertise at every and I mean every turn before I head to the dealership. You will not find a more genuine and trustworthy person. I am now at the point I don't even ask what the cost is because I know he will be fair. Great communicator.

Doug was fantastic! Gave me an initial quote of $120 which I told him I was fine to pay. Then he called me after he fixed my Infiniti & only charged me $80 bucks, stating the job was easier than most cars. In today's society, who does that? Furthermore, my wife just got out of surgery & I had to reschedule last minute. He fit me in the next day & was fast, effective & even showed concern for my wife. This mechanic is the real deal! Lucky for him, I work with hundreds of people I'm sending his way & already have the family scheduling too!

Doug really knows what he's doing.Very honest, and always has time to answer all your questions and concerns.Example: My AC went out. It looked like a hose was wet and leaking. I took it to a local meineke store and was told it would be $1500 for troubleshooting the problem and repairs would be on top of that. So I took it to service automotive and 3 hours later Doug called and said "all fixed, it was the leaky hose." Cost was $260. Easy, confident in his diagnosis and 5 years later my AC is still ice cold.

Started using Doug a few years ago. Have never seen a more honest guy. I have had several makes of cars serviced here he is always fair on price and has never tried to over sell.

The Mechanic/Owner is a personal friend of mine. I have gone to him for many years. I send people to him all the time. This means women because he is knowledgeable, professional, fair and will do you right! So ladies if you're interested in a good Mechanic/Owner, who will do the right thing, Doug Lowe is the person. You can even tell him, "Johnny Fetterolf sent me!" Seriously!

It is the best place to take your car to get work done, the owner is very very honest in both labor and his opinion and knowledge of what has to be done, you can be very comfortable knowing that what he tells you is the truth and his workmanship is superb I recommend this place very strongly
