I've been going to the Tires Plus on University for years now, and I've never had a problem. Always loved this location. Staff is super nice and keeps you informed with whatever they're working. Very good communication! I got a quote for some things that needed worked on with my car, and when I called later on too ask about the total cost so I knew exactly how much to bring, Deb, ended up helping me save money! She saved me a lot of financial stress, so big shout out to her.

Dear Gene,Thank you for your speedy service in addressing my flat tire issue on January 22, 2023. I was two hours into a 8 hour drive, your shop was busy but you took on the job efficiently. I was back on the road in a timely manner.

Look for a better shop. The people were nice, but lied to my face. I went to get a tire repaired, there was a nail dead center on a tire with a 5+ tread. They said it was irreparable and wanted me to buy a new tire. They refused to fix it. Common recommendations are to replace tires below a 4 tread. They also said 3 of my 4 tires were at a 5 tread and one at a 7 and this would ruin my AWD vehicle. They then wanted me to purchase 3 new tires w a 9 tread. Which is a direct contradiction as that would still have me with tires with a 2 tread difference which was already the case. They were pushing their credit card very hard as well. I was very disappointed to have to make an appointment for a tire repair and then left with a refusal because I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars unnecessarily. I went to a different place and had it fixed for free on the spot.

Tires Plus has been servicing my vehicles for around 12 years now. Oil changes, winter checks as well as some new tires. Service has been great at my WDM location. Always able to answer any questions I may have and always apply current discounts and coupons. Very happy with their services.

Recommended installer from Tirerack - would not recommend.Appointment was easy to set, car was in shop within 15 minutes of appointment and 4 tires mounted/balanced within 60 minutes.Finally washed car today and they scuffed the clear coat on 3 wheels (machined/clear). It's been 2 weeks so my guess is they'll deny the damage. Also the valve stems don t look new.Few days after install I developed a noise in rear of car and they asked me to drop it of so they could take a look at tires. Correctly diagnosed as rear wheel bearing but I wasn't told when I dropped the vehicle that if the issue wasn't related to their install I would be charged - $20 diagnosis is more than fair but it's the principle of disclosing charges up front.

Was told it would cost over $1000 to get my air conditioning fixed. Found the part online for $60 went to another shop and they charged me $80 dollars total. Charged me an additional $100 to have my car hoisted up for 5 minutes for them to say we can t fix it. Would not recommend.Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

We stopped in shortly before they closed concerned about a potential issue and even though they were busy with prior customers, they took the time to review our issue and make sure there was no safety concern. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. An asset to the neighborhood.

I took my daughter s vehicle in for an oil change and tuneup/ inspection. I also replaced three tires. The actual work is acceptable but the lack of customer service and consideration is concerning. The man who I dealt with when I dropped it off was nice and checked it in efficiently. But I got frustrated because it took much longer than they had said. A few hours turned into all day- closing. Which is fine if communicated properly, which it was not. I called once to check on the status and the person I spoke basically said we are busy and that was that. So obviously that made me upset. He didn t ask what kind of oil either, just assumed not synthetic because of the low miles. But actually that was the kind it uses. When it came to replacing tires, it was fine. BUT they used the wheel key (lock) to remove and replace the tires. It was in the center console, or guess what they wouldn t have got them off. So 100% the wheel key was in the vehicle prior to installation. When I realized it was missing- less than 24 hours later the man on the phone put me on hold for literally two seconds to check and then said they didn t have it. BULL!!!! I should not have to try to hunt down MY OWN wheel key that you used to replace tires I PAID for. No help, no concern, nothing. That is what makes me the most mad! The manufacturer of this vehicle is no longer operating. So it s not as simple as calling that manufacturer up and ordering a new one. So frustrating. I will not be taking any our vehicles back. Do not recommend.***UPDATE***So I went back over a month ago and asked to speak to the manager. He was not there. The man I spoke to said that they would look for her tire lock key. He didn t find it. Then he said that they would get a tool to take them off and just put regular nuts on. I called a week later to follow up and they never got the tool/ haven t got it yet. The next week the same excuse. And the week after that and the week after that and yet the week after that. So literally they DID NOTHING TO MAKE THEIR MISTAKE RIGHT. I should not have to pay out of pocket for a new wheel lock key or deal with any of it. It is their mistake.DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NEVER RETURN/ GIVE THEM ANYMORE BUSINESS. I have been going to Tires Plus for years and they have always done a great job with my vehicle and are helpful explaining issues with me. Today was just 10/10, I had a small concern with my bill and they corrected right away. Then, the plastic around my key bizarrely crumbled and the fob and parts were all disassembled, and the mechanics were able to put it all back together. I feel so grateful!Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Oil change

Tried to get air at a few gas stations but they were out of order with the cold and one tire store that shutdown their tire check station for the day. I called Tires Plus and they were happy to fill up my tires and they got me taken care of very quickly. Thanks!

Thank you to the mechanic with the scruffy beard who overheard my convo with the front desk staff on Sat 1/22/22 regarding a flat tire. That morning I had discovered a flat tire on my car. I was able to get it inflated again and made my way to the shop. I told the front staff that the previous weekend I had a similar issue with another tire and it turned out to be a quick fix involving the valve stem and I thought this was probably the same issue. However, the front staff said they wouldn't be able to have it looked at until Tuesday due to their booked schedule. This kind mechanic, though, said he would take a quick look at the tire. In less than 2 minutes he had the issue fixed allowing me to continue on with my day and enjoy the rest of the weekend. As a single person with only one car he changed the entire way that my weekend and start of the week could've gone had he not taken the time to look at it. Thank you sir! [The mechanic deserves 5+ stars but I'm only giving 3 since the front staff was less than impressive on their greeting/acknowledgement of a customer and response to the issue].

I needed an appointment asap and after calling many places (like 10) they made time for me the same day I called. Looked my car over, fixed the issues quickly, and I had my car back after the work day. Super thankful they were speedy, honest, and helpful! Eternally greatful I'm not waiting until next week for my repairs.

Th car dealer let me down after I specifically asked them to look at my tire that seemed flat this morning. I took my car to Tires Plus later the same day and they got my tire fixed up and I was good to go a few hours later!! I had been there once before for something small and simple, but both times the employees I interacted with were so nice and respectful! I will definitely go back to them and I will definitely recommend other people I know to go to them as well! Great service!!

I will not be returning to this location nor will I be recommending it to anyone. The service was terrible. The techs put a part on my new tires that was not suppose to be used on the new tires, and years later I had issues with the tires due to the part they put on. They refused to do anything about it and wanted to charge me $180 per tire for the part... After going rounds with them they were still rude. Even when I decided to purchase new tires they continued to be rude and have attitude. It took them over 3 hours to install 2 tires. And while I was waiting for my car, I would listen to the employees talk to other customers. Ive never heard people talk down to customers or make them feel stupid like that before! Horrible people skills! Even the manager is rude and unhelpful. I highly recommend going to a different location.

I made the appointment yesterday for alignment on my car for today, my mom dropped it off, and waited 45minutes to be consider even tho she couldn't communicate when the drop off, Tire Plus knew from yesterday what was needed, and could of call me and didn't .. I told her then to ask for the key and walk away. I think they should of been more professional on letting her know if she was going to be helped or not, and if it was going to take longer like 45min even tho an appointment was done.**********They don't deserve a 1 STAR********

I have been going to Tires Plus for years. Most of the time to this Tires Plus. Apparently they went under new management in 2018. I filled out the online form to get 4 new tires on our van. I drop it off on the scheduled day at 6:30 am before they opened (appointment set for noon). I show up at 4 pm and say I am there to pick up the van. Long story made short, the manager said they did not do anything with the van because they were not sure what to do. I have filled out the online service form several times before and never had an issue with past management. I asked the manager if they had my correct email and phone number, they did. I asked why they did not call if they had a question. His response, "I guess I could have done that." Needless to say they lost the sale and a customer that has been going there for decades.

I called in, was told 'hopefully' would have tired plugged/repaired within an hour. I offered, I would also hope that 1 and a half hours would do the trick. No comment one way or another - so I drop the tire off. When getting there, I'm also given fluffy communication (no commitment, pro-active communication) regarding when it'll be done, but again when I offer that I'll be back in 2 hours, I'm not told that WON'T work. So, I arrive back in 2.5 hours to hear they haven't gotten to it yet, and didn't bother to call. BAD, BAD business. I do not trust this was in fact a first in, first out type of arrangement, and instead suspect this was a combination of them up-selling, taking higher margin work, and very poor communication and expectation setting on the part of the desk/office staff.This was the University WDM location. Very disappointed. Wasted quite a bit of my time.

Went in to have my tires checked, my steering wheel started violently shaking at 40 mph. Asked if they could just check them since we bought the tires there, our mother just passed we were having the visitation at 4 that day, then the funeral tomorrow. Of coarse, the tires started acting up while going back and forth to the hospital the week before.Was told, no they couldn't look at them I had to get an appointment for 4 to 5 hours later to even have them looked at. I couldn't do that, guess I have to drive the van an hour away acting like this.My husband tried to get something looked at a month or so back, was told he had to make an appointment.After buying two vehicles tires there and then trying to get service, and being turned away both times, we will never be going to your stores ever again.Evidently you are very busy, so you won't miss our business, but in a very hard time in our life we didn't need this on top of everything else.The man in the office wouldn't even get up to talk to me at first, his back was to me and he started to ask questions, I couldn't tell if he was talking to me or not. He told me he only had one man working today, must have been the same thing when my husband came in a month ago. The store we went to was in Des Moines Ia, on University.Vikki Burgett

All three gentlemen I met were nice, provided excellent service and were very knowledgeable. I called at lunch time about a flat and they had it done for me to pick up by the end of the day. The cost was reasonable as well. I've always gone to a dealership, but I think I'll be switching to them for maintenence work!

I had a flat tire on a sunday 30 miles away from home and needed to get it fixed. I called 4 other places in the area and was told that they were too busy, but one of those places asked if I had tried Tires plus, so I did.When I called they said we are busy but we will get you fixed up. When I got there it was 30 minutes before closing time. They looked at my tire and it was unrepairable and they didn't have one in stock. But the manager gladly made some phone calls and found one at another tires plus store, went and got it and put it on my car. He and his staff stayed late on a Sunday night and took care of me. For anyone in the customer service business, this the way that you gain and keep customers. Go the 2nd mile generally will cost you nothing and gain you much more.Thank you for going the extra mile for me!

I can't explain my experience but they have made me spend over $1,000 and supposively with warranty of 60,000 miles and with road hazard warranty. Every time, I would go for a basic check up for tire pressure or a nail etc, they would never check my tires properly. I would always end up at another location but wanted to take advantage of the warranty. All I can say is that, when someone spends money for new of everything, treat them well. I am done with them and their service. All I am saying is this is my experience and yours may be better or worse but this is mine.

I can't say much about the quality of work done at this location. I had a friend have a tire replaced there an it worked out fine. However, I was about to use their services but found that the workers (including the managers) need some work on their people skills. I realize these are mechanics, but it is still a business. The two men I met and spoke to were not friendly and acted as though I was a nuisance. They also had long awkward pauses on the phone (strange). Took my car elsewhere.

Grant Willey is the WORST MANAGER OF ANY TIRES PLUS I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. Grant literally tried to break my car when I brought it in with a concern... burning up the motor on the window control.I came in for an oil change and wipers... they never bothered to call. Instead of receiving an apology, Grant ARGUED with me multiple times. He tried to point fingers at everyone but himself for the crappy service. THEN, when I asked for his manager's name and number as I will no longer do business while he is at that location, he literally tried to say he didn't want my business. That is FINE buddy. That's just fine... you tried to break my car, took 19 hours for an oil change and throw all of your coworkers and Assistant Manager under the bus. I won't return and have told anyone I've recommended them to of my experience.
