Firstly, Nate and Jorge are great and super easy to work with, very responsive. I got a recommendation from a friend and I called and got a reasonable appointment date based on their popularity. I asked if I could tow my car there ahead of a blizzard just to insure it was there for my scheduled appointment in a couple days and they said due to those circumstances, that was no problem and they would see if there was any chance they could get to it earlier. Asked for a ballpark quote and was given an idea but was told obviously that was dependent on the circumstances. I went into this knowing exactly what the problem was, but based on past experiences I expected a call in a few days telling me the usual "yeah, it's the problem you expected but also this and this are these issues that we insist you get done fixed as well, also there's a unicorn hoping around in your air filter poking holes in it and we'll need to get a unicorn specialist in and and unicorn bait in order to lure him out". Instead i got a call in less that 24 hours from when i dropped it off, it's fixed! It was exactly what i had diagnosed as the problem at home but couldn't do myself. Wow, honest auto shop with no crazy upsell? Fantastic. Invoice showed the part price and labor and it was on the lowest end of my quote. I even had to insist when I paid in cash for them to round up the price instead of rounding down like they had offered due to lack small change on hand, that's how happy I was.Bottom line: HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone, especially those who might feel uncomfortable they may get taken advantage of by other places for lack of knowledge. Seems they just identify the problem and fix it without any frills so they can move on to getting the next customer's car on the road.Disclaimer: Although I did get my car in an extremely fast turn around time, it was a pretty simple fix and they happened to have time to squeeze me in ahead of schedule. If you speak with them they are clear with you that the are a very popular place and it could take a bit for your appointment, repair costs and timelines are based on lots of different variables. But I at least feel confident they aren't pulling your leg about it and are trying to get you in and out as soon as possible and providing a fair price based on parts and labor.

February 20th: I was told by several other local auto repair shops that my "alternator" was "okay" and it was charging "just fine". I took my 2003 Dodge Dakota to Nate's Auto Repair today to have him check out the "Check Gauges" red light. The battery charging needle was buried all the way in the "negative". Nate put a meter on the alternator and in about 3 minutes told me the alternator was non-working & needed to be replaced. He referred me to an "auto salvage" shop & he had the exact alternator that fit my truck. I brought it back to Nate's and one of his technicians replaced it with the "used" one and it is working 100%. He saved me SOOOO much money. So, if anyone needs ANYTHING done to their vehicle, they should go to Nate's Auto Repair on Commerical in Waterloo, Iowa.The below review was done several months ago......I took my vehicle to Nate s Auto Repair today to get one minor maintenance job completed. It took Nate about 10 minutes to diagnose the issue. The longest time to complete the repair was waiting for the part to arrive. After the part did arrive, it took only another 10 minutes to complete the job. I have taken my vehicle to other auto repair businesses in the past, but they over-charged me and did repairs that I didn t really even need. Nate also did some other minor maintenance on my vehicle as a gesture of appreciation for being his customer. I would highly/strongly recommend Nat e Auto Repair to anyone in/or around the Cedar Valley, or anyone relocating to this are to take their vehicles to Nate s Auto Repair now and in the future.(Special "thanks" to my granddaughter's father to referring me to Nate's Auto Repair").Service: General repairs & maintenance

He does a great job, and his prices are very fair. Sometimes, it takes him a bit to get to the vehicle, but he is always worth the wait. I trust him and am always recommending his shop to people.

Get a quote before you let them work on your vehicle. They charged me $250 for labor alone on 8 spark plugs and an ignition coil. Left there feeling terrible.

Nate's Auto Repair was recommended to me by a neighbor. I contacted them via Facebook about taking a look at my Jeep. They responded quickly and were able to get me in within a couple of days. Drop off the evening before was easy and they called me the next morning to tell me what the issue was and give me an estimate. Lucky for me, it was a relatively simple fix and I was able to pick up the same day. Throughout everything, Nate was courteous and informative. I had been going to another local shop for years, but started having bad experiences with them after a change in ownership. I felt good about the whole experience with Nate and will not hesitate to bring my vehicle back to him whenever I have issues. I am happy to have found a good, honest shop again. Thank you!

I would really like to thank the guys at this shop. I Was coming through Iowa from Minnesota headed to Illinois when I heard something snap. I pulled over called triple A and the guy Keenan recommended these guys to me. When I say they were heaven sent believe it. They called me a tow truck and had the problem fixed within an hour and a half and had me back on the road. I am so grateful. Thanks you all. You made this experience so stress free.

Really did a great job. My car had a noise coming through the steering wheel and I took it to many shops. But only this place was able to figure out and fix my car(it was the bearings and front axle making the noise). Great fast service. Including amazing communication from the owner even. They fixed my car in a timely manner and was up front about everything before fixing it. Amazing customer service!! I needed some work done on my vehicle that was a bit of a mystery and he did everything he could think of to fix it. I'm sure he may have gotten annoyed with me and all the calling I was doing but he never showed it and was very calm, helpful, and still answered all my calls. When I got to the shop to pick it up very straight forward, welcoming, and told me to let him know if I have any more issues and he would help me out. Just a very nice guy and I will continue to go to Nate's Auto for my car needs. That's how you run a business when you deal with a lot of people. Thank you Nate!!!
