I was very disappointed.... for a room supposed to be luxury I really regretted it to the point where I'm not sure I'll go back one day.... the room smelled bad (I had to buy a deodorant and an automatic diffuser just to be able to spend the night) as did the sheets and the sofa, the dust (although it was winter was all over the furniture.... other things: bed that makes noise, worn toilet towels, no breakfast,heater not really work......Rooms: the room smelled bad (I had to buy a deodorant and an automatic diffuser just to be able to spend the night) as did the sheets and the sofa, the dust (although it was winter was all over the furniture.... other things: bed that makes noise, worn toilet towels, no breakfast...

Exceptional! This is what a roadside motel was meant to be. We travel across the US all the time. We always try to find the small motels. On this trip from NY to WA, this motel has been the best. We have stayed in 13 motels this trip and this motel has hands down been the best. The owner should be proud. We will be back.Rooms: Very clean and well decorated. Every need was met. Comfy and charming.

The original room we had, we liked, and the bed was very comfortable, however there was an issue we were not comfortable with. We brought our concern to the staff, which happened to be the owner. He immediately responded to our concern and provided us with a new room. Before our checkout day, there were already people working on our previous room to correct the concern we had. The owner and staff are there to make your stay in Spencer the best as can be. The only reason I took one star off is because our second room's bed was not as comfortable as our first room, five stars had it been.

The front desk people were super polite and informative. We were never offered cookies and the coffee is from a machine for $1.50, but it was delicious. Our room was pretty clean but the bathroom wall and door could have been cleaned better. Decor is from past decades and quirky, but clean. Our bedding had some ink stains, smoker burn holes, but it was clean. Price for a 3 bed room was great! All in all, I would stay here again. Quick drive into Boji which is why we were in the area.

Great location for Spencer Iowa for a short stay ,Bring your own linen they do not give out clean bed linen if you have Revsavation for the entire week . you will have to keep the same sheets everyday until you check outI'm fromCobb County Georgia. that's a little odd to me.you have to ask daily for Towels .So bring your own soap all and any cleaning supplies. and amenities like coffee sugar the..THEY DO HAVE A REFRIGERATOR AN MICROWAVE , IRONThe young ladies who clean are very nice.but I noticed they use the same towels that seem to be used for other rooms to clean each room with very concerning to me .I sanitize my own room. but other than that .Good little last minute spot to stay.Would I recommend it .it served the purpose.it had a bed, shower, Sink toilet;We endured it.Take Care.

The young lady at the desk was very friendly. The room was clean, nicely decorated and updated. The bed and linens were comfortable. We had a huge flat-screen t.v. refrigerator, microwave and newer cooling unit which was very quiet. We were able to get a ground level room with parking right outside the door. No noise issues. This room was the lowest in town, we could not ask for moreGreat place to stay. We will be back!

Adorable motel! Friendly staff. Bathroom was a little dirty. Overall it's a great place to stay with very affordable prices! Pet friendly. The decor is up to date. Beds are comfortable. Air conditioning worked fantastic! Laundry facilities. I've, and soda machine. The only thing missing was an outdoor pool. I would definitely stay here again if passing through.

I just had my 1st stay at the South T this Saturday, January 27, 2018 for the Winter Games.I am beyond impressed!!!!! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The lobby was very welcoming. It smelled amazing, looked cozy, and had yummy cookies waiting for me on a cold day.I found it very easy to park close to our room and when I opened the door, it felt like home. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, well kept, very spacious, and newly remodeled. The rooms have new everything! My room looked more like a hotel room I'd find for 4x the price and less customer service.ANYONE reading this review should definitely put it on their "must" list for places to stay when you're in the area.It ended up snowing over night and I'd forgotten a scraper/brush to clear off my vehicle. I was brushing snow off with my arm when the owner came out to clear it for me! I am just nothing but impressed with my entire experience. This is place is truly a gem and I would go out of my way to stay at the South T again and again!I will absolutely be back! Thank you South T!!!!-Niki L-

My wife and I have been here twice while visiting family. Both times we found the rooms to be clean with no insects. Staff was helpful and friendly. Most of the other tenants seemed to be long term construction workers who were friendly. No problems with excessive noise at night or early mornings. Worth the price.

Just an overnight stop as we were passing through. We needed a pet friendly room and they had it. South T comes in a little cheaper than the big corporate brands near by and I prefer to give my money to someone that owns their own place instead of runs on corporate investor racket. They have attempted to upgrade their rooms which mine was a touch on the small side but ok. The bed was comfortable and there was new furniture. The front desk was very helpful and pleasant.

Nice place. Quaint looking. Room was clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Chairs to sit outside. Grills and tables to use. A place to stay at for a couple of days while exploring the area. Only issue I had was covering on some of the baseboards had the covering coming off. Had to set a/c at 64 to get the room cooled off. Will definitely return.

I love this hotel. The staff is so friendly and the maids are super nice. They always remember to give me extra towels. They are VERY clean and the rooms are updated and nice. I love how each room has a desk w/ lamp. It's very convenient since I am an online student. I recommend that everyone stay here!

Very clean with a modern atmosphere! Room was excellent!!! The owners definitely care about their guest here! The rate was affordable as well. I do wish that the curtains were wider and darker, just to keep the light out better. Other than that, my stay was perfect!!! I highly recommend this place and will stay again when I'm in this area!!!

First room was dirty and not cleaned from the previous night, second room the door wouldn't close, the third room had no light but did have a comfortable bed and was fine otherwise. Not sure after the headache of changing rooms 3 times I would stay again but the room I did eventually get was Decent.

The cockroach occupancy was higher then the human occupants. There was mold on the shower curtain, the shower was cold and what looked like a booger smeared on the wall. Although it looked like there was recent updates to the rooms furnishing you still couldn't over look the cockroaches and overall lack of cleanliness. I do not recommend this motel. The old saying rings true here... You get what you pay for. Cheap price, critter infested motel. Per your response. I did stay there June 30, 2018 room 45. It's a little hard to voice my concern as the office was closed when I checked out and had to leave the key in the mailbox outside the office door.

Extremely pleasant! Very clean and nice room, and staff is super friendly! Stay so far has been just a short time, however I look forward to my extended stay at this motel. Fair prices and overall a great place to stay.

It seems kind of low grade because so many construction workers stay here, but it's honestly very safe (the lights outside are left on at night so no funny business is happening). Once, the lock on the door to my door broke at 4AM when I was trying to get back in and the hotel owner came out and temporarily fixed it. The next day, he made sure a locksmith came out to repair it and got me a new key! The rooms have all been recently renovated and the maids all do their duties extremely well. I love this motel.

Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Modern and nice decor with a mattress that was super comfortable. Best night of sleep I've had in a long time. Great value for your money. This will be our go-to place when we are in the area in the future.

I stayed here for several nights in early December with my dogs. Very nice, very clean room with good decor and a microwave and mini-fridge. Parking spot right outside my door. Large grassy area to take dogs out. Would definitely stay here again.

Came up there about a week ago, the Wife & I (she is pretty picky about motels). The motel was clean and the staff were GREAT! I would definitely recommend this place. Easy to find and lots if well lit parking spaces . Wish I could have stayed another night but the Wife got a bad bug bite while were were out in the boat fishing so we had to go home a say early, but I definitely want to come back.

A small hotel which is family owned. The staff was friendly. The rooms are very clean. The furnishings, although a bit dated, were very functional. Plenty of outlets to accommodate my oxygen concentrator, our two CPAPs, both cell phone chargers, and even one to charge my portable oxygenator. We were in a king suite. It was a regular room just that much larger than normal and had a loveseat. This actually was perfect for our needs. Pets are allowed for a charge of $15/night. At the front desk, there was coffee, people cookies and puppy cookies! It is close to restaurants. We plan on visiting the area when the weather is warmer and will definitely be booking a room with them.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and modern and suited all our needs for the night. This was a great budget-friendly hotel and we will definitely stay here again.

Hands down the BEST motel/hotel accommodations in town. Right on the edge of town and easily accessible to many restaurants/stores. I really like the little beach motel set-up and the remodeled rooms are super cozy and very nicely done. The staff is always very kind and accommodating too. I'd live there if they let me! South T will always be my first choice during my stays in Spencer. I don't think you'll find this great of quality at these prices anywhere else.

Great Motel! I've stayed in Spencer a few times and there isn't a better place to stay in Spencer than here. Appears to have been recently renovated. Very clean. Front desk staff is awesome. One of the owners, I believe her name was Illa, even invited me to try some authentic Indian food once and it was fantastic! I would recommend this motel to anyone and I'll certainly be back.

Just want to give a shout-out to the South T Motel in Spencer Iowa! My brother was going to be in town for a few weeks for work and needed an affordable place to stay.
