I had never been to Iowa and now I want to move to Spencer!! The entire staff from front to back was amazing. Clean and professional. Ms Jackie at the front desk has made my two week stay top shelf. Super clean rooms and a very impressive breakfast. Thank you all for being so amazing!!Food & drinks: Sports Page great bar food and NO. It was never an Applebee's. Always sports page, always good. Added plus, they have Budweiser zero(NA)

5 stars all around. My crew and I have stayed here for near a month so far and are still here. Rooms; are always clean and very modern. Location; puts you 25 minutes from an amusement park, axe throwing, free concerts, beach areas on a lake, a casino, camp grounds and 2 restaurants in particular. Check out 1)Kings steakhouse, the owner is awesome you might find her behind the bar. 2)La plaza for Cadillac margaritas and great food, talk to Sylvia. Service; here is phenomenal. Truly outstanding. Great breakfast and amazing staff. Special thanks to 4 people for going above and beyond.. Lianne, Grant, Jackie and Audrey. Honestly, the staff from the general manager throughout is above and beyond reproach. Thank y'all for making our lives of working on the road much easier.

First time staying at this hotel in Spencer but it won't be the last. The negative is that the price for a room seems awfully expensive for the area. Everything else is a positive, the hotel is extremely clean and laid out well with all amenities, the rooms are large and wonderful, the complimentary breakfast was very good with a multitude of both hot and cold items, and the staff is very friendly. This will certainly be our choice on our next visit.

Great staff here and lots of convenient amenities,Very pretty sunsets from our room also.Many close by businesses including a really fun axe throwing bar with really awesome staff,The hotel has a fairly nice breakfast with an automated pancake maker which was kinda cool.Rooms were nice and spacious and modernFood & drinks: Nice morning breakfast and coffee barNoteworthy details: Nice breakfast in the morning, other services were also nice, they served warm cookies sometimes

Really enjoyed our night here. We were visiting family in the area so only stayed one night; checked in after 9pm and desk personnel was very friendly and helpful. Our room was perfectly clean. We had a king for my husband & I and a sleeper sofa for the two teens with us. All the bed linens were clean, pure white and comfortable. The linen for the sofa bed were neatly in linen bags in the closet. The room felt very spacious and had great roll blinds for the windows (1 is blackout and 2nd is glare for sunny days/mornings). We all slept great. The hotel as a whole was very clean, quiet atmosphere, and well maintained. Breakfast was updated regularly and a good variety of hot/cold items: eggs, biscuit & gravy, sausage, oatmeal, 3 cold cereals, bagels/English muffins/toast/muffins, made to order pancakes, yogurt (Greek and yoplait original), milk, juice, coffee, hot tea, cocoa. Highly recommend. Only improvements I could recommend would a hot tub in pool area and a milk alternative at breakfast (almond/oat milk).

Room was visibly clean but it also smelled clean so that was really comforting. Breakfast was good and was actually 15 minutes from closing so I figured they wouldn't bring out anything else. Nope they brought out fresh sausage and cinnamon rolls at 8:45 (ends at 9). Seemingly happy workers were actually at the front desk everytime I came through the doors. So you know the place watches who comes and goes so that is also, comforting! Good job! 5 stars all day!

I always stay at IHG Hotels because they NEVER Disappoint! Cleanliness is of uttermost priority to this hotel chain.I'm a Diamond member and I travel often throughout the year; my standards are high. I had horrible experiences at other hotel chains prior. Once I stayed at a couple IHG hotels I knew that they live up to my high standards. Super thankful for this hotel chain and their high standards for employees and hotel cleanliness. I won't find a rude employee or a dirty room when staying at a Holiday Inn Express!

Stayed at this location this year and last. Very clean and spacious room (King Suite upgrade below) Really like the new room design and renovated look. the only downside is the pool is small and the rooms are pricier than other similar quality Holiday Inns. if you are staying on Mondays and Wednesday nights they have a rather loud Casey s truck that runs overnight if you are a light sleeper. luckily they put me in the opposite corner and it helped.

Business stay, and I got to say, pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel is. Clean, quiet room. Larger mini-fridge than usual. Small microwave. Functional storage space, desk, wardrobe. Could use a better or maybe larger chair and footrest than the swivel chair shown in picture. For an overnight or even short week stay, really a good spot. Close to various stores and food places.

We were an hour away and in dire need of a nice, clean pet-friendly hotel after being turned away where we already had reservations (and that did not have a clear pet policy). Audrey at the front desk did an amazing job of pulling our anxiety down from the atmosphere and getting our party the two rooms we needed. Very clean and friendly atmosphere.

An extremely nice and new hotel. Everything is in very great condition. We were in town for a wedding and the staff was very accommodating on our difficult timing needs.The hot breakfast buffet was great as well.Would definitely stay again if we're ever in the area! A+++

Very nice rooms. Great breakfast. Eggs, sausage, Biscuits, gravy, pancakes, bagels, fruit, cereal and cold stuff. Something for everyone. Pool water was cold, but hotel had towels and noodles to play with. Workout room was good too. Enough space not to crowd with others. Nice staff. Small enough it felt homey.

This location is new being built around 2015. It still seems very new still... The rooms are very clean and smell good. The carpet and linens are very clean. The staff were very nice. I believe this to be the nicest hotel in town if that is what you are looking for. My bed was very comfortable, noticeably so.

We recently stayed here during a big winter storm. We had to check in late on Saturday night, and they were able to get us a room that worked perfectly for our group. The hotel is very nice and well-kept, with a good breakfast.We ended up having to stay an additional night (Sunday), but the room rate went up. When I asked the front desk they told me they could not do anything about the rates. I felt they were taking advantage of the bad weather.

Good location and very new facility. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, more so than other HIE properties that I ve stayed at. Breakfast was the standard complimentary content, which is both good (predictable) and bad (same ol ). The hotel was completely full both nights I was there, yet room was QUIET! That s important to me when on the road, and this hotel was a pleasant surprise. I ll return to this hotel if I m in the area again. (Please like this review if you found it useful. Thank you!)

Very nice customer service stayed here with my kids and enjoyed free breakfast, free WiFi, free pool area to ourselves. Great experience I definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a place that is completely comfortable and affordable. & As for the staff keep up the great work you all do an amazing job & make people feel safe and comfortable. Shout-out to the manager at least I believe so she was very nice and always a smile on her face & NANCY my kids enjoyed her company in the hallways they came home talking about her she is a hard worker and very nice beautiful person!!!! Thank you Holiday inn Express & staff you guys are the best!!!

Amazing modern rooms, luxurious king bed and bathroom. Main lobby, lounge, and breakfast dining area was surprisingly open, modern, and relaxing. Friendly and attentive staff as well. All of this was gladly welcomed after being on the road travelling. Drive to and from Okoboji (East and West) was a quick 25 minutes away even with heavy traffic. Definitely would stay again.

Clean!! Newer building. Breakfast was better than usual. Ample parking, quite area. Only real problem was parents that can't control their kids in the hall at 6:30. Would give five stars except for the price. Could have been jacked up because of the fair.

Great service. It is 3 years old and looks brand new. Super clean. The regular rooms are about double the size of a regular motel room. Workers are so friendly and very helpful. A very pleasant stay. Would recommend and will definitely stay there again.

The perfect hotel for me as my work takes me right across the street. Also a great location if your plans take you to Spirit Lake and Lake Okoboji!Rooms: The rooms are always clean, roomy, and well kept.Nearby activities: Spirit Lake is just down the highway, and if you have traveled out to Spencer and don't at least go to the lake, then you are missing out!
