Well the beds were so tall neither of us could get up there very easy, we had to use a chair to get up on the bed. Cable went in n out on the TV, or antenna or whatever it was. The lamp would start to charge your phone then stop, several times. A short In it. Then the toilet was the lowest toilet to the floor that I had ever ever in my life set on. So I'm handicap anyway and I can get into a normal bed onto a normal toilet but this was out of control and I don't think I would ever stay there again because I couldn't get on the bed and I couldn't get off the toilet. And there was two of us.

I was there due to my truck needing work. I came in a 3a.m. and was able to get a room in no time. I was there for 23 hours and while there all the staff while young were very present to talk to and very focused on there work. This is an older Super 8 that is independent and by far one of the nicest services I have ever seen. While it looks like the rooms are being keep up there you can tell it's an older hotel. But don't let this discouraged you from the stay. There were a few things that I can see need to be improved and worked on like cobwebs in the corner of the room and a bathroom that is in soon need of updating. The bed was comfortable and overall the place is clean.I would happily stay here again, and think that if I did the service would remain top quality.

I live locally, and have only stayed in my town's Super 8 a couple times. The service is not the worst, but there are some things that visitors might want to consider. One of them is bed height. I am only 5'2, and I had to practically launch myself onto the bed just to get under the covers. I do **not** have to do this at other hotels I've stayed at. Second is mattress firmness. I personally don't sleep well on a super-firm mattress, no matter how floofy the pillows are. So those who prefer a softer mattress and aren't 6' tall might need to reconsider this particular hotel. Also, reserving a room in person is definitely more expensive than reserving online. One thing I will say, though, is the Super 8 has fab WiFi, which is why I ended up paying for a room -- the internet at my apartment was offline due to a neighborhood outage, and I had to get some work done beyond what Perkins' hours could offer.

You get what.you pay for - Good for a hot shower and a bed. Really need to clean up the area, especially the hallway carpet. No ventilation in the bathroom, aged and/or rusty fittings and the hair dryer was missing. We don't travel with a hairdryer because it is expected it would be in the room. Ours was missing. Went to the desk to request a hairdryer and she was insistent that it was in the room. She then told me the Manager would take care of it but evidently not in time for us. Breakfast was slim.

The bathroom was one to be desired just to start, with pealing paint and mildew. There was also a foul order about the room. The AC needed to be serviced. The appliances weren t plugged in when we got there. Furthermore the front desk employees were not thrilled to be working. They d rather be on their phones. The only reason I m giving them two stars is it was a secure roof over our heads.

Young lady at front desk was very kind and friendly. Room was very clean and orderly. Except for some dust and stains on curtains, overall I had a great stay hear. Oh, and sheets and pillow cases were clean (I inspect these things). Just as important, breakfast area and lobby was clean, vacuumed and actually smelled clean! I've stayed in places that just "look" or seem clean but are not. This place by far was emacullate. Definitely recommend it. Oh, and breakfast.... dining area was very clean and orderly and the serving sizes were generously fair compared to other hotels (example: sausage patties were huge, not the miniature or small ones. The waffles, although they are minnie waffles, u can make up to 4 at one time. I think that's a great approach to portion control - no waste!)

The lady at the front desk was rude. Right When we walked in she was on her phone and stayed on her phone as we waiting for her to check our booking. She didn t give us any details about our booking just proceeded to take our card info and ask us questions. After I asked why she was doing that she caught an attitude and explained why. The room and hallways were disgusting I m never returning to this hotel. I will be letting everyone I know about my terrible experience and will not recommend this place.

We got what we paid for a damp, slightly moldy (in the bathroom), slightly smelly hotel room with some harder beds and dripping faucets. We got it based on the price since we were going to be there for just long enough to sleep but if we were staying longer than that I would ve gone someplace else.Reception lady was nice.

Do NOT stay here if possible!!! I stayed here for work & was delayed so had to extend my stay. They were more than happy to extend the room BUT failed to mention the substantial rate increase. I was made aware of this increase when I went to check out & was told "rate went up because we were sold out" Had I known about the rate change I would have happily drove to Newton instead of staying here. (better rooms for half the price & only a 20 min drive back to work) I chose to stay here because the rate was initially fair and close to where I needed to be. The rooms were somewhat clean although good luck finding a working outlet. The outlets on the lamps were busted & the floor lamp was missing the knob to turn it on so you had to crawl under the table to plug it in. I was willing to overlook all this for a "cheap" hotel but my standards go up when the price does. This is NOT a hotel I would be willing to pay $95/night for.

The one star was only because Google requires at least one, and because the desk staff was wonderful in check in. The rest of the motel? Where to start...Bed was visibly caved in the middle, like we kept rolling into each other all night in spite of continually moving apart, simply because of gravity. Room needed to be swept. Shower head was disgusting. Other guests and the general public obviously had no fetchin' up. Loud, right outside our window all hours of the day and night. Questionable signage on the grounds, but my personal favorite attribute of this stay has to be the towel rack falling off the bathroom wall in the middle of the night. Not to mention some type of roommates of the six legged variety. If you're thinking of staying here... don't. It's close to a racetrack. Literally. Very loud on a Friday night. If you're looking for a good night's sleep... you'd be time and money ahead to just find a large box. Or sleep in the car.

Only one night stay. I got a nice, comfortable and clean room. I hesitated to stay here after reading some negative reviews. Reservation was easy over the phone. Jose was very polite and even offered me no charge if after checking in I was not satisfied with the room. Front desk people also helpful. The gal even let get some orange juice before checking out after 11am. I am giving 3 stars because carpet walkways and stairs showed several dirty spots and needed more attention. Will come back assuming will receive same service.

I stayed here a year ago it was pleasant and that why I came back but after this last this past weekend not a chance the bathroom has not vents our room had no smoke alarm, the towels were torn and ragged. The toilet made a load noise when you flushed it like a screeching sound. The tub was dirty with hair in it. The pillows were very old. It was noisy couldn t even sleep in cause of someone in the hall talking on the phone in yelling. The breakfast wasn t very good not much to choose from. The place seemed very filthy and just very run down. Wasn t very impressed at all.

It's clean for the money it's hard to find a room that cheap anymore. Expect to have breakfast somewhere else. Expect the usual strange odor from the air conditioning unit. Expect a little bit of a cramped bathroom. But the sheets are clean the bed is comfortable. The Price is Right when you're just looking for a place to sleep.

Customer service is awesome. Around 11:45pm, I needed a simple glass of milk and the clerk on duty went out of his way to get me not one, but two glasses - making sure I had enough for the evening. He didn t have to do this but did so out of the kindness of his heart. Not only was he a great host, but a positive reflection to Super 8 as a whole. Thank you to the staff of the Marshalltown, Iowa Super 8. Very much appreciated.

They were doing renovations and had the carpet pulled up outside the room. Paint was peeling and gross in the bathroom. No one was at the desk when we arrived and we waited quite awhile after calling to let them know we were there.

The computers here were not programmed for the correct time or date. Checked in on Tuesday at 8:00am, 6 hours later we were getting kicked out! Owner said he would meet us in the middle and we could pay $30 to stay that night. (Even though we already paid $$55) So we went to go get the money and come back and he backed out of his offer! There are cameras everywhere pointing at the front desk. They knew what time and how long we wanted to stay...Well that night we ended up staying in our car at a gas station. Its so sad how people are these days.

Check in was slightly difficult because of language barrier. The room we booked was not available. But they got us another room. Housekeeping was amazing. Room is dated but clean. No bugs and the heat worked amazing.

Would have given this Super8 3 stars, but the beds were just plywood with sheets on them. The place was clean, plenty of towels and no weird odors. Nice dark curtains, so Mr. Sunshine won't get your day started to early. Throw a foam pad on the plywood and we might even come back to Marshalltown. Jeff

Room was ok, not the cleanest, housekeeping staff was rude. Front desk guy tried to over charge me but after a vigorous discussion decided not to. GO next door to the best Western, they place was nicer and the breakfast was 100% better

They deserve NO stars. Booked room thru Priceline, after arrival, was denied check-in,was told they just got power and computers were down. After several phone calls to Priceline, was told super 8 refused to give refund, the manager lied and said I was a no show. I won't use Priceline and I will never book a room at super 8! Guess I should of taken pictures of the super 8 sign that was destroyed to prove we were there or maybe a video of attempted check-in, who would of thought that the manager would lie about it, well lesson learned. Service was horrible, wonder how many other people super 8 refused to check in and refused refunds, some people might consider that theft.

The motel is older, but don't let that bother you. The staff are awesome. The place is very clean. Their breakfast choices were great. The price was good. As a business traveler I see a lot of motels this is one of the good ones.

Rooms were very nice, beds quite comfortable and clean. The breakfast was a little sparse, no waffles, but it wasn't terrible, also there is no pool, quick was disappointing, but overall very clean and the staff were helpful!

Room was absolutely disgusting. Smelled strongly of weed. Waffles were good though
