The manager that worked on 03/06/24 at 10pm is the most dishonest and outright thief of a man. I was traveling from Wisconsin to California. Because my friend had a stroke and lost functionality of her left side. So I am driving there to help her. So at approximately like 940pm I pull over and go on Expedia to book a room. I notice that one is 33 miles ahead and book it. I then put it in my maps and think I'm tripping but it wasn't 33 miles ahead. It was 33 miles north of me. I immediately called the motel and explain to the manager that I mistakenly booked a room there. The more I explained the thicker his accent got. By the end of the he said OK OK ME CANCEL RRESERRVATION. I said thank you very much sir..I then went to the Motel 6 that was actually at we are in Altoona. Called Expedia and they said that they refused to offer a refund..NOW COULD SOME1 TELL ME WHAT LOW, PETTY, UNETHICAL, DECIEITEFUL, LOW DIGNITY HAVING PERSON 9R BUSINESS WOULD DO SUCH A THING? THAT MANAGER THAT WENT FROM SPEAKING ENGLISH TO NOT KNOWING THE LANG UP AGE WHEN IT C AS KE TO STEALING MY MONEY ST MOTEL 6.. MY AY GOD TAKE IT FROM H III N 1,000 FOLD.. REMEMBER MR THIEF..WHEN YOU'RE SHORT $70,000.00 FOR AN EMERGENCY .. REMEMBER THE 70.00 U TOOK FROM ME AND WATCH TIK TOK CAUSE MY VIDEO ABOUT YOU AND MOTEL 6 WENT VIRAL 365,913 VIEWS IN ONE DAY!!

I dont check out for another 2 days but i didnt write a review when i was here 2 years ago and i just have to say, the owners take care of this place! i usually dont use motel 6 because most are dirty but this one will more than likely be the best one you go to. At night you do have to use the phone in the lobby to get someone to come down but they do come and they ve all been so nice! Theres a wendys and perkins right beside it. Only problem i have is the GPS tells you to take a left instead of a right but you ll see a big sign! so just ignore your gps once you get to the light lol. Rooms are clean, floors dont turn your feet black (probably one of my fav things about this place), direct tv, and coffee in the morning. Also beds are comfortable!Rooms: amazing and cleanWalkability: lots of stores/food in walking distance

Affordable and No Sec Deposit with card. Find out they're family owned and ran pretty well. Clean room love the bed my back loves slightly firm and comfy, the clerks I've spoken with are great ladies. And they petty complaints I see on here are just silly. As an out of towner thank you for the hospitality. And keep up the kind services thank you motel 6 Marshalltown

I do not remember the name of the hotel clerk who was staffed at the hotel counter the stormy evening of Wednesday July 12, 2017, but she was fantastic, most courteous personable attendant. Very efficient in getting us checked in. Even opened hotel door so we can get our bags into building. We noticed refrigerator in room was not working and she immediately checked on it and quickly assigned us to another room. I want to praise her with more than 5 stars as she was beyond excellent. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, quiet, with refrigerator and microwave, all worked very well for us. Very modern bathroom beyond expectations, though a hair dryer would be a nice addition. I was totally satisfied with the accommodations. If I am in the area again, will definitely stay here again.

Very basic budget accommodations, but not a bargain price. Paid over $100.00 a night, so expected better for the price.The bed is rock hard, and cold laminate floors (no carpeting). We had to ask housekeeping to finish cleaning our room. Dead bugs on floor and used bar of soap and wrapper in bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful.

It's a Motel 6 folks. Shower was hot, bed and pillows were comfortable, decent tv, fridge and microwave, price was right. Towels and provided toiletries aren't great, but again it's a budget hotel.One thing, I booked straight through Motel 6 website as no other sites listed cheaper. It was preset for 2 guests, but I was solo and when I changed it I saved over $20 for two night stay (Sunday and Monday).Every hotel needs to be graded on a scale. There are multiple options in the vacinity. The few times I have stayed in this town, Motel 6 has been cheapest or close to it. If you don't expect frills this is the spot.

You get what you pay for, Weed smell throughout. The beds are comfy but some outdated things that need updated. Also a lot of light gets in past the curtains so even with them shut during the day it's bright. It worked for what we needed it for though.

My first night was horrible the second was a war with the roaches mite I say quarter size. But sense then I have been moved and have not had one bad moment sense have dealt with some amazing staff members and living through quiet atmosphere. I m glad I gave them another chance... place do be needing a renovation tho haha.. been coming here sense it was super 8 and I swear it s only getting worse it needs little things done to make it look nice. Don t get me wrong has gorgeous work out room and lobby but rooms need work.

I ve been to a few of the motel 6 chains in my travels. This one is by far on the top of my acceptable ones. Most of them stink and their beds are horrible. I m very glad to say this had neither problem.I m not going to say, if I had to stay here for more than 3 days I d still love it but for a short stay Absofrigginlutely. It s just because it s so small and doesn t have breakfast I m also very grateful for the kind owners/operators here. Shaun and Alex are super kind and very helpful.I ve stayed at 3 hotels in this town before this one. I ve switched up so much because the people at the super 8, Baymont, & comfort inn are incredibly rude I will NOT go back.I even had enough points to stay for free but I d rather pay for kindness. Their loss!!

This is quite possibly the best Motel 6 that I have ever stayed in. The staff was friendly and helpful, and was able to accommodate my request for a ground level room. The room was clean and well furnished with a microwave and a refrigerator. Add the fact that they accept dogs, makes this the best place to stay in the area.

BEWARE! Do not stay here, we walked in our room that was supposed to be 2 queen size beds that were more like thin mattresses on cots. The whole room was filthy, we pulled down the comforter that had stains on it and the sheets and pillows also had stains on it. We left immediately, and left the key in the room. We called back to let them know we were not staying there and they said we were not even booked there. Then I called back again after I confirmed phone number and address and no one would answer for 1/2 hour! I called guest services at corporate Motel 6 who in turn called the location and said the location would call me back. He said he did not find any stains and took pictures, he was so rude to me and said he would not refund us our money. I said even though we r not there! He said no, because we did not come to talk to him. We were so grossed out we just left. I told him we would escalate this and how upset I was because it was unclean and unsafe to sleep in. He didn t care. I called back corporate guest service who said they would update my complaint and the location would call me back within 2 days. I said he already was mean to me and nothing would be resolved because he said would not refund us. Corporate said they would have to wait until the 2 days were up for him to call me again. I m so mad right now! We are not even staying there and getting charged, not to mention the manager disrespectful and mean! Do not stay there, we did not take pictures and that is our biggest mistake. So disgusting.

Not a place for family stays, place was not really clean and it stinks because of smoking and non smoking rooms are close together. There are no dressers in the rooms and rooms are small. During My stay a cockroach was found in my bathroom. When I brought the situation to the front desk, there was no concern or any immediate need to address the problem. I checked out to find another room. After I left, I forgot an item and had to return for it. When I went back into the room, the cockroach was still dead on the floor near the toilet where I had stepped on it. I will never return nor do I recommend people stay here.This motel does not deserve any stars but I have to give one to post a review .

Seemed to be a newer Motel 6 with interior entrance doors rather than the typical room doors exiting to the parking lot. The king bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in ever. (Better than my bed at home.) The staff was very friendly (Roxie and Sean).

Worst hotel I have set foot in. As soon as you walk in it stinks like cigarettes when it's supposed to be non-smoking. There were a bunch of flies and cockaroches in our room. The covers had burn marks and the sheets seemed to have signs of bedbugs. The carpet was filthy and had a bad oder. Ended up leaving because it was unbearable to stay they night. If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst experience of my life. Do not recommend this place to anyone!

No outlets by bed. TV remote had duct tape on the back. Had window unit to heat and cool the room without digital control. No stopper in bathtub. Phone did not work.

We realized the location was 40 miles east of our travel route too late to cancel, so we stayed there anyway even though it was way out of our way.Glad we did, excellent clean room with everything thing we needed.Only problem was the ice machine being empty when we were ready to leave.

Nice rooms, good size. Great location, far enough from the highway to be peaceful. Friendly desk clerkFood & drinks: There is a Perkins right next door.

I checked into this place as we travel and do visit alot of Motel 6 but do NOT believe the picture you see on this local website. Looks nothing like this. And further more, Motel 6 do not charge a fee for pets but this guy said I had to pay 20 dollars a pet....seriously???? This appears to be another extended stay motel in Marshalltown.

Slamming doors 24/7, loud bangs that even move the walls and make you think someone is falling through the ceiling, and hearing loud conversations and children of employees running through the halls, and room cleaning only twice a week. If that's what you're looking for, you'll love it here.Be prepared for them to charge you whatever they want and raise the price when they want or lie about prices. I was told it would be 5$ extra a day for me to stay with my husband, it's even posted on the door, which would have been 35$, but when he paid the bill for the week they charged him an extra 100$. The only reason I put one star is because I had to to write a review

Great customer service and awesome staff! The manager Pat and the cleaning staff ladies were great! Towels were always fresh and smelled great! Coffee every morning was a good thing to wake up to daily :)
