My friend and I booked this place along time ago. It had good reviews at the time. The day we arrived it took awhile for someone to show up at the front desk. When we got back to the room we checked for any sort of bugs and stains. Our beds had multiple stains on them. I asked them to change the bedding but asked if housekeeping did any sort of service. We had just arrived one of the workers didn t want to speak to me when I asked for new bedding. Also the hot tub is drained and the pool was dirty and it smelled musty. Extra cots where stored in the pool area. Would not recommend this place.Rooms: Not sure if other rooms are like the one we had but our room has stains on the bed. See photos.

I had family in town and convinced them all to stay here because I thought they had the best pool and hot tub. It's normally very warm and enjoyable, but it was cold and the hot tub is out of service.I bought a suite so we could have a place to hang out. I always check for bed bugs when arriving to any hotel. I didn't find any bug, but I did find a used tampon under our mattress. They came and changed the bedding and offered me a $15 discount. The jacuzzi was impossible to fill and once we figured it out we couldn't get it to drain or flush the toilet. The fireplace also didn't work. For $170 dollars I would have hoped for a better experience.

We landed here last minute after 12 hours of driving. We had originally booked a hotel in Cedar Creek, but it was horrible and we immediately left. We walked in, and the lady at the front desk did absolutely everything she could to turn our night around!! It was the best hotel experience- staff was so friendly, rooms are clean, the hotel is very quiet very pet friendly, and the breakfast was great. Would absolutely stay again!

Five star before we even stayed there. Why?? Im glad you asked! The young couple that helped us(3 Railroaders)with making sure we had a clean room for our stay. I know that's what they're supposed to do bit it wasn't that. We told them about our start time in the morning's and went above and beyond to make sure that we had a a full hot breakfast earlier to accommodate us with no questions asked. We don't find this kind of hospitality from hotels that we stay at especially for a few people like us. Thank you Baymont staff by Windham Marshalltown. You are our go-to and we recommend you to all who are in need if your service. We are grateful.

upon check, in the desk clerk took a copy of my drivers license. He said it was in case they had trouble. I felt uneasy about this. After visiting with my family they suggested this wasn't legal or appropriate. A second family member was checking in and questioned the desk clerk. He said it was to enroll me as a rewards member. I find it suspect since that's not what he told me.The room appeared clean, however it smelled like someone spilled coffee in the room. As I entered the bathroom there were coffee grounds on the floor.there are holes in the walls, paint patch work didn't match, the phone was in the way so I was going to move it and it was not attached to any cords and it looked like all the buttons had been removed. The shower head leaked and barely had water pressure.Breakfast area was not very clean.

Room was just fine but I'm going to review what sticks out to me.. Outside trash cans were overflowing (this is the morning observation from last night), no soap or paper towels in pool bathroom, morning coffee ran out at 8:00 am and wasn't refilled until 8:30 am, cigarette butts filled charcoal grill, trash in parking lot, outside areas need weeded and debris needs picked up. I suppose I'm being overly picky, but a clean look sets a standard. The breakfast was adequate but very basic. This is RAGBRAI week, I'll give them that. The staff was very nice and courteous. I'd definitely stay here again.

The manager Raj & front desk worker Roxy were amazing. I've never encountered friendlier & more helpful employees at any hotel I've stayed at. The rooms & lobby were very clean & inviting. I'll definitely stay here again when in the area.Rooms: Our room was spacious, comfortable & clean.Food & drinks: Nice breakfast with several choices. There is a gazebo with a grill for cooking out, which was very nice.Noteworthy details: The pool & hot tub were lovely. I liked the fact they had a patio accessible from the indoor pool for sunbathing.

We've always had a good experience with Baymont properties. That said, this property was no different; checking in was easy, and we were on the ground floor. Everything was clean and well lit, and it didn't feel dated. The room was clean and had fresh linens (something that I've read to check). It was nicely appointed, and the California King was comfortable for someone who likes a firmer mattress. The hot water wasn't too hot, and the pressure was good. That's a major point in any stay. We did have a small issue with the TV and Direct TV. The issue was fixed by the time we returned from dinner. Since thus was a business trip, we skipped using the pool or hot tub, and with everything in Marshalltown to do, we didn't get to use the modest exercise room with a treadmill and elliptical The location was next to the Interstate, which made it easier to find. And it's not far (less than ten minutes) from downtown. The breakfast was included and thankfully had proteins as well as the standard carbs and fresh fruit.Rooms: As I said, the room was clean and nicely appointed. The shower had good pressure and hot water. The vanity is not in the bathroom in our room, so there are no issues with a foggy mirror.Nearby activities: Everything like shopping (Walmart, Plaza 9 Theaters, Hobby Lobby) is less than 2 minutes by car. The downtown and parks are within ten minutes.

Nice room and friendly service (even though they seemed understaffed when we visited). Pretty nice pool area and fitness room for a budget hotel this size. A nice variety of options for continental breakfast; the food was fresh and well organized, and the dining area clean. Enjoyed our brief stay here!Rooms: The in-room fridge was large, clean, and cold.Noteworthy details: They had free, individually wrapped cookies at the front desk when we visited. :)

THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. They charged me $80 to have extra guests in the pool but initially said it would be $20. Then they said it was because I had guests in the room at 12am. Then they said it was because of the room being "dirty" which all the trash was in bags in a pile and all the towels were in a pile together. The room was it trashed. 2 other guests there were complaining about their customer service as well. The manager I spoke to on the phone cussed at me and it was just an absolute horrible experience. I've gone 3 years in a row for my children's birthdays and never had these issues. I will never be back.

One of my rooms didn t have a working light in the bathroom, bed stains, and leaking. Another one of my rooms didn t have a shower bar in the tub and the drain stopper wouldn t go in so couldn t take a bath. The hot tub in the morning was cold and even when turned on it didn t heat up. The free breakfast wasn t much of a breakfast. I got charged an extra $100 and not sure why. When I talked to a staff member on the phone she told me she just got there and I d need to call and talk to the manager in the morning. I and my family will NEVER stay in this hotel again.

I haven't been inside there Baymont in years. My cousin is staying here for a few days, with her large, very well behaved dog. We have week old puppies and four small yippy dogs so the quiet, very peaceful setting is perfect. It is so beautiful inside! New carpeting and wood flooring and everything was spotless!

Working away from home for extended periods can be difficult. I ve been at this Hotel for 15 nights now. It has been a great experience. The establishment is very clean and in good repair. There are a few minor things that can be expected from an older building, but overall very well maintained. They have a phenomenal staff. All of them have been kind and helpful. They seem to treat all of their guests equally. From the travelers staying one night, to the work crews staying for weeks. The pool is kept clean and heated to a comfortable temperature. This is By far the best Hotel, at this price point, that I have ever stayed in. The treatment we receive from the staff and the overall comfort outperform several 4 or 5 star hotels I ve experienced. It s nothing fancy, but a great place to rest and relax after a long day. If you ever find yourself in Marshaltown, IA, I highly recommend this Hotel.

This is the third time we've stayed here in the past few months, and I think it will be our last. The online reservation program always says the rooms are full, it may be user error, I don't know if its true or not. I have to call every time. This time, they said, "this is our last room", the price was bumped $50, then I spoke with another guest in the hotel pool area who told me they were told the exact same thing over the phone and given the same rate. I have stayed here when the price was under $90, and also paid almost $150, for the same style room. This time, the chain lock was pulled out of the wall, which I rely on having for my toddler's safety. The blow dryer was not fully attached to the wall.Breakfast was difficult. There are 3 tables and 5-10 people trying to use a miniature kitchen at the same time. At 8:30 they were out of waffle mix, fruit, coffee creamer, and cold eggs, breakfast goes until 9, they never restocked anything. We made toast and cereal and carried it to the room on stacks of plates since there wasn't a place to sit. It would have been a ton easier to transport back to the room if the milk were in individual cartons instead of gallons. When we got back to the room, the key card was not working. It was working an hour prior when I got coffee. I left my 3 kids sitting on the floor in the hallway eating their breakfast while I went downstairs to reactivate my key card. That was frustrating. Our toilet was also moved away and sat at an angle, which was wierd. At the pool, the water was freezing. There were guests with small children who left the pool area right away because it was too cold for their toddlers. There were no towels available. I mentioned that they were out, no one brought more, we had to drip up to our room. It was a very frustrating stay, so many things that left me feeling uncomfortable about staying here again. If I had known about some of these things, I would have honestly stayed somewhere else. We are not usually complainers.

No elevator to the second floor. Beautiful inside, but the breakfast area is very small, with only three tables. The food was good, though, and there was a good variety. Seems to be in a safe, quiet part of town. I have stayed here twice, and would again. The beds are amazingly comfortable! We saw someone with a dog, but not sure it is a "dog friendly" hotel! The rooms seem to be well insulated; I hardly heard any noise from other rooms. They have laundry facilities, a small workout room, and a pool/ hot tub indoors. Rooms are clean.

Wish I had something good to say. The manager is very unfriendly, unprofessional and does not care about the place. Will never be coming back. Stay elsewhere if possibleNoteworthy details: The workers there are basically worthless giving you uneducated and misleading answers. I do NOT recommend staying here. I do not know how the manager there even has a job. Unprofessional and terrible service.

My family really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and nicer than many of the other hotels in town. All the staff we asked questions or spoke with were kind and informative. Myself, my husband, and our daughter enjoyed the pool very much! There was a safe, microwave, and mini fridge in our room, which are not available at all hotels. Very reasonable price for the room as well. Beautiful foyer and breakfast area right when you walk in; it's very welcoming and comfortable from the time you walk in to the time you leave. I definitely recommend visiting here if you're traveling and need to stop off for the night or if you just want a day or two away from home!
