Let s talk about it . I hit Tim up on an early Monday at 10:15am. I had an appointment by 1:30 and had my car back by 6pm. The quickest and easiest process I ve ever had. I do have a few more things that need to be done and no doubt I m coming straight to Tim. The prices were reasonable and being a female by myself I didn t walk out of there feeling like I lost. He also sat down and explained what needed done now then later. He s also a kid friendly business too I brought my daughter along with me and they had toys and movies to keep her occupied. Very nice and friendly also.

Traveling in the area from Chicago for work and my alternator decides to crap out. Was recommended to this shop for repair. They fit me in right away. They were super fast and reasonable with the rate. I would recommend to anyone else needing repairs to check them out.

I'm new to the shop and couldn't be happier with finding this Iowa City gem. Communication was great, quality of work and price were all on point. Glad I've found a new mechanic instead of having to deal with the dealership again.

Rocky does an excellent job with my vehicle. He always tells me what is going on with it and puts the things that need to happen in order from most to least important and lets me know what /needs/ to be done vs what will need to be done but not in the next 6 months. The prices are fair and I'm happy to support a small business.

My mom asked me to post this for her I was traveling in a used car I d just purchased when I realized my wheel bearing needed to be replaced. Rock got me right in to replace that bad wheel bearing, then stayed late to finish the job when the wheel bearing was stuck in the knuckle and required a lot of extra time and effort to replace. He also noticed the license plate light was out and replace that for n/c. When he was test driving the car after replacing the wheel bearing, he also noticed another noise and diagnosed that for me, too making a small adjustment to make sure the car was safe to complete my drive back to Colorado. If I lived in Iowa City, he d be my mechanic, for sure! -LindaMae

I have been coming to Rock' N Tim's Automotive since January of 2021. I had a scary situation with my van overheating and the heater not working. Rocky actually came to my house to look at my van a gave me an estimate and an educated guess of what the problem was. I ended up having my van towed there and he replaced the thermostat and the radiator for a fraction of what I was anticipating to pay.I had just bought my van a 2007 Toyota Sienna from a friend for a very generous price. However, it did need a few things done. I had basically a new suspension put on and my van drove like a new car.I am a single woman and Rocky is kind and honest and always tells me what I really need and then what I could use. He has been generous in lending me a loaner vehicle whenever I have work done on my vehicles and has even come to my workplace to give me a jump.Patty is amazing and great with getting quick estimates, finding the best prices, and getting parts delivered quickly. Together they make a great team and always go above and beyond.If you go to the Toyota dealership just to have your breaks looked at it is almost $200.00. I have had Rocky look at my vehicles several times and he gives me an honest opinion. Sometimes he has even told me there isn't anything wrong with my vehicle. That never happens!If you are looking for a family owned, and operated business, that conducts business with honestly and integrity, look no further! I have been going to Rocky for the last several years for routine maintenance, breaks, and other repairs. Every time I get my car back it drives like a dream! I drive a 13 year old corolla with 200k miles on her and he keeps her running like the day I brought her home. Rocky is always gracious enough to fit me in on short notice, or answer any questions I have. He let's me know what I need to get done as soon as possible and let's me know of what I should plan on doing in the near future. Patty is always quick and accurate with her quotes. My daughter and I were traveling through town when I noticed a noise coming from the back of the vehicle. I pulled into a gas station, assessed the rear wheels and assumed a bad wheel bearing. Looked on google, saw this place close by and gave them a call. In that situation, on a time crunch and away from home, it was the best decision I could have made. Got me in quick, learned it was a rear hose hanging up the brake, ordered the part and I was back on the road very quickly. Exceptional, honest service. Dose a great job everytime. I had a shake that 6 other shops couldn't figure out. He nailed it in less than a day. Now my truck is running like new again. Though I have not had any mechanical repairs I can say Rocky is very capable. With his 20 plus years in the mechanics profession he is knowledgeable and willing to search the solution if needed. Rocky has done an excellent job with the various things I've brought my car in for! If you want your car fixed completely in a timely manner, DO NOT GO THERE. This is NOT a professional shop.I took my car there in January to get my clutch repaired, it is now late June and nothing has been done. I was repeatedly lied too about progress and was given multiple dates for completion of my car that came and went with no actual work ever completed. The car has been taken apart, everything except the engine is in boxes. This morning I had the car towed to a reputable shop, they took one look at it and declined to work on it, stating that the damage done by this shop is beyond their repair. Im now forced to have the car taken to another shop in Davenport where they might be able to undo the damage. I was patient, I was kind, even when forced to pay for parts up front and was repeatedly asked for more money along the way. Honesty would have been appreciated, if they couldn't fix my car they should have said so to begin with. I may pursue legal action.

If you want quality good work, get your car fixed here! They aren't only professional, but they pay special attention to detail in the quality of their work. They are honest, hard-working and who make you feel like family the minute you walk in their door. I definitely recommend them they are the best at what they do in all of Iowa City!!
