Mike was prompt to reply to my message, and had one key for my truck in stock and so was able to get my key copied the next day. It works great and I now have a spare. Thanks Mike, I will use your services again if I ever need any more keys.

I have used Mikes several times for vehicles in my family. Hands down he has the best prices in the area. I live approximately an hour away from his shop, truly his work & prices for worth the trip. Highly recommend Mike s Lock & Ekeys 4 Cars!!

Could not be happier! After the Subaru Dealer quoting me a king's ransom , I found Mike's Locks for Cars and called him up. We set up an appointment and the entire process took less than 20 minutes. AND he is local! The Subaru Dealership is in Davenport or Cedar Rapids and they wanted the process to take three days. Unbelievable! And with the price they quoted, Unacceptable! I could not be more thrilled that I found Mike online. If you have a chipped key for your car, give him a call, Save yourself some money and a HUGE headache that comes from dealing with a dealer. Highly recommend!

Mike was amazing, I am not from iowa city and was terrified of the bill I was going to have to pay to have him make me a new key and deliver 30+ min from his location even tho I didn t have the original key.He worked with me over the phone and through text in order to gather all the information he needed, he arrived to my location when he said he would and didn t bother me at work until he was already done programming the key to my car allowing me to only need to be excused for a moment to pay and receive the key. The cost was half of what I was expecting and he provided the key pad code to unlock my door (something I ve been trying to find since buying the car 4 years ago) and I also got a backup battery for the key fob!!My experience was amazing and I will be referring all of my automotive locksmith needs to Mike from here on out!!

I communicated with Mike over a few days because my car's anti theft system locked me out and I had an appointment to have Mike fix it. My car eventually started and I did not need Mike's services, but I would like to leave a 5 star review after merely talking to him. He was extremely helpful and easy to talk to. He seems like a really great guy and I recommend him wholeheartedly. Will definitely utilize his services if needed in the future. Thank you Mike, for being helpful.

Mike is the man! I lost my key just before a holiday week and I felt totally at loss with a 2 week wait at the dealership. Mike was quick to respond, and helped me out within 48 hours. I got a new key and I can breathe easy knowing I ll be able to drive home this weekend. Thank you!!!

He was really fast to respond to me, super nice, made sure I was all good to go and, most importantly, taught me how to actually change the battery in my key without breaking it like the last one. Mike s lock and key was great to work with! They were reliable, professional and cost effective! Our daughter lost both keys to her car and they ordered and had 2 new keys programmed in several days. I left a message and he returned my call immediately and was so helpful! I would definitely recommend!

I lost my car keys and have been at a loss while trying to figure out what to do. Mike worked directly with both me and my mom to ensure everyone was in the loop and I was getting the best help I could. My two new keys were ordered and programmed to my car within a days time and they even accommodated me and worked around my schedule! Service was fast, efficient, cheap compared to dealerships, and I was treated like family. My son lost his only car key FOB while away at school, fortunately the car was parked in his driveway. Being out of state I wasn't quite sure who to call so after reading the reviews I decided to give Mike's a try. I left a message and Mike returned my call right away. After I explained the situation he ordered a new FOB and programmed it to the car onsite. Mike had him up and running within a couple of days and the price was much less than the dealer, not to mention no need for a tow. Great service and would recommend Mike's to anyone needing a locksmith in Iowa City.Services: Car digital & remote key reprogramming, New key fob creation

I needed to have my FOB fixed for my daughter's truck. Contacted Mike who responded quickly and tried to set something up that would fit into her goofy college day schedule. This was all started over a weekend. He set up a time but it would then not work out on our end. Our fault. Mike was very understanding and worked with us.This is what customer service is about!!! This is the kind of business that you patronize!!!

Highly recommend!!I have a 08 Grand Cherokee. This vehicle has a WIN ignition module and needs specific key fobs or FOBIKS. When I bought the vehicle, I only received 1 fob. To program more you need 2 original fobs. The one I received somehow became damaged and would not turn anything on. Nothing. No dash lights and certainly not the motor. I had already ordered 2 new ones from Ebay. Tried one of the new keys and low and behold, the frequency was correct and all the dash lights, radio, etc. came on! Called Mike and he was having some vehicle problems himself but was able to come to my house right after he was up and running. Plugged his computer into the vehicle and within 15 mins, had both keys programmed! Amazing!! I thought I would have to take it to the dealership and we all know how costly that can be. Plus, I would have had a tow bill as well. More then likely would have been well over $500 to do what Mike did in 15 mins! And they couldn't get me in for a week. Mike had me up and running for $90 plus a nice tip for getting here as soon as he did!So before you rush to the dealership, give Mike a call and explain your situation. He may be able to save you a ton of money and time!Great job Mike! Thank you!

A narrative of the experience: I lost my car keys to my electronically protected car. I called Mike's on a Thursday. Mike said he would try and fit me in the next day. Showed up exactly on time, I myself was late getting to my car by about 15 mins. I didn't have much data but Mike figured out what type of key and settings were needed based on my engine type. Had two keys cut in 45 mins. One backup for the door and a working transponder key for everything else. Started right up and no problems. Total cost: way less than the dealer. Mike also was a great professional throughout the whole process. Highly recommend!

I will recommend Mike to anyone!!! He was helpful polite and very flexible with my schedule. I purchased a car from McGrath ( my mistake) and they gave me no key fobs . He made me two keys with keyless entry for less than half the price everyone else quoted me.

So much less expensive to get Prius key than Toyota dealer! . Mike told me job would take up to an hour but was able to complete it in 10 minutes. Highly recommend

I would highly recommend Mike's Lock & eKeys 4 Cars. He helped us out of a very stressful and difficult situation with my daughter's (U of Iowa student) car by applying extraordinary customer service and expertise in a field that has become exponentially more complex since the days when a hardware store could cut a new key.He worked to get my daughter back on the road as inexpensively as possible while explaining the issues and processes thoroughly and understandably.With two daughters at the university, I will sleep more easily knowing if similar issues ever arise that Mike's will take good care of us.Mike's Lock & eKeys 4 Cars epitomizes all that is good about small, independent businesses!

Excellent communication. There were issues from a job he was working that delayed mine, but he communicated the delays to me so I wasn't waiting around and that's all that I can ask. Once I got there things went quickly and he didn't mind explaining things to me and answering questions. I would without reservation, recommend Mike to anyone needing a locksmith.

My daughter had her key stolen last night while visiting the campus and We were very concerned on how we were going to get her home.Mike called me back within 10 minutes and was there within a few hours! He was a lifesaver and very reasonably priced! Highly recommend!

What an awesome company. Very friendly and helpful. My daughter's car key was stolen and they were out to my daughter's car the next morning. 30 mins later my daughter had 2 keys and she was on her way. Thank you so so much for the excellent service.
