Wish I could give 6 stars! I've been here twice now for my 2008 Mustang, once for a clutch replacement and the 2nd time to get it looked at for gear shifting issues. Nothing but professional, fast, and most importantly HONEST. They looked at it, found a small issue with a spring, fixed it, and DIDN'T EVEN CHARGE ME!!! Absolutely unheard of! Go here! I will definitely be returning if and when I need to!

Great to work with. Called and scheduled my appointment, but called back to ask to add some additional work to my car. They were able to do it all for a great price. Super trustworthy and easy to deal with. Thanks again

Best transmission shop ever! Dylan and Travis are both great! Easy to work with, and as a single female I definitely felt like they were helping me as opposed to taking advantage of me. They put a brand new transmission in my Suburban and I was without it for only 24 hours. I for sure recommend this shop!!!

185k miles, my pickup's differential got real noisy. Took a few days to get parts & rebuild, but their estimate was on target & I'm hauling again. Great team, thanks guys!

I highly recommend Fountain Transmission. Scott and his team were great to work with. I have sought advice and assistance in rebuilding my own transmission and they have done work on multiple vehicles for me. I've been to Fountain's several times for multiple repairs and this company is fantastic to work with. They are extremely competent and very, very fair with you. This is an extremely reputable company. They come highly recommended by auto repair specialists in the Iowa City area. This is the only place that I would ever consider going for transmission or drive-train work. I speak very highly of Chris Fountain to all of my friends and associates and have heard nothing but good things (extremely good things) about how customers have been treated at Fountain Transmission. I HIGHLY recommend this business!!

Great people to work with. Chris and his technicians are very knowledgeable and kind and were able to get my transmission worked in and finished with very short notice. I will definitely be coming here for any major trans work I don't trust myself to do. Thanks again for the exceptional service fellas.

1 of my trailers had gotten abandoned here a few weeks back this business had no obligation to track me down or let me know about it they could have just removed it from the property. Instead I got a phone call from Chris and he let me come pick it up. I told him if they ever need anything and they're in Cedar Rapids to let me know and I meant it LOL thank you again

Fountain just installed a new clutch on my old Toyota truck. These guys were great to work with. Got me in as soon as possible. They even let me back into the shop while my truck was up on the lift and showed me exactly what was broken and what they were doing. Would recommend this place to others for repair in IC.

Broke down in Iowa City and got recommended to go to Fountains. Brought our RV in at 6 in the morning they said they weren't sure if they could get us in because they were all booked for a week. An hour later we were back on the road for and unbelievable fair price. Super friendly and very honest.

I can not say enough amazing things about this place and these guys. I love my truck and am always worried about it but i wasnt here. They had it done in less then half the time he said it'd take and cost less too. And the best part the truck is back to running perfect again!

My favorite transmission shop in iowa. These guys are fast and know what they are doing, well over 100 years of experience between the employees. Thats why you can expect a waiting list to get your vehicle in. Never seen a waiting list for a place that's not worth going to.

If you have transmission problems go here. We had a transmission slipping in our mustang two years ago. They were fantastic and fixed the transmission much cheaper than competitors .I just had my torque converter and front pump go out on my jeep and again they were significantly cheaper than others. Can't express how happy I am.

Above and beyond amazing service.On a Friday afternoon when our transmission went kaput during family road trip, the Fountain Transmission Specialist and especially Brandon, was the only place in the area that felt mercy for us. Every other shop in the area was too busy to even see us with advice, but not the Fountain. Brandon told us to come over to check everything out, and even though we knew it is not something we can fix on the spot, at least we knew what is a game plan, how to proceed with the urgent situation. The Fountain employee even took us with their car to get a car rental for us, how's that for amazing and kind service! They took care of our car while we were out of state. The kindness of the Fountain team will be remembered by us forever, they helped us above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you again! Wojciak family

Good, honest service you can count on. Doesn't fish for un-needed service for work like local dealers. Stands behind their work!Repaired a dodge diesel transmission for less than dealer, with a warranty as vs nothing from dealer.Long time, upstanding member of Iowa city community!

Fountain did a great job putting a new transfer case half on my 2004.5 Chevy Silverado 2500hd diesel. They were able to fix the issue quickly and for a very reasonable price.

We heard nothing but great things about this place and each person used the word "honest" to describe the staff and owner here! I now part of this group. You probably.cant anyone more honest and great at their job than Fountains for transmission work.

Quick, quality service. Were willing to install a difficult aftermarket part and immediately corrected minor incidental damage made to another car system during install. Highly highly recommend them!

well knowledge staff.. need transmission work or differential work this is the place to go... they do have a wait time to get into the shop most of the time takes about 2 weeks but well worth the wait.
