I want to start off by saying that Kristy was amazing, super helpful and listened to all my complaints after coming to the store. Yesterday 1/15, I had called and spoke to Kristy at around 11:45am. During the phone call she had told me that they could change the battery out,but it would take about about a hour and a half, if I could come in after one pm that there would be more people coming in and they could have it done in 45mins. I thanked her and said I would bring in after one. Around 4pm I had finally found someone to come jump my car, then I immediately drove down to advanced. When I arrived there was this older gentleman that was helping me. He looked up the battery, during that time I had asked if it could be installed, I don t want to but if you re going to make me I guess. after the computer brought up the battery he informed me that they don t install the batteries if they aren t located under the hood I insisted that Kristy had told me that they d be able to change it out. The older gentleman went to the manager (Lucas) and asked if he would install it.I just kept getting a no for an answer. By this time I m bawling, because the whole time I was just trying to make it to a friends funeral and it was five on a Monday afternoon I had not set up any other arrangements due to being told they would change my battery out. I basically begged and asked if they would just please do it. I was still told no. Afterwords, I had to find someone to switch out the battery and when I did, they were upset that the gentleman, Jeff and Lucas refused to help me put it in, because it wasn t any harder than putting in a normal battery in the front. When I came back to hand in the old battery, I had told them that it was ridiculous that they did not help me because it wasn t any harder, and Lucas proceeded to get all defensive, and asked me what I was accusing him of because I had said, Christie said Lucas was coming in to help after one, so I was confused as to why he was telling me he couldn t. Overall, it was a very bad experience I missed out on a friends funeral, I m a single mom of three I paid $250 for a battery and they wanted me to go pay someone else to have it put in. The only way advanced will ever get my business again as if Jeff and Lucas aren t there. i m very disappointed in the lack of empathy and And not being able to fulfill what is promised on commercials and in-store

Thank you Roy for your helpful service! I was in and out quickly with what I needed to get my girlfriend's car jumpstarted from our garage.

Ordered parts online but didn't log into account for warranty purposes. Spoke with the cashier who did more than assist me with this. He had to go above and beyond in order to assist me. Cheaper by far than some other parts stores. Thank you Advance for giving hope to this DIYer.

I don't use them that much cuz they're on the other end of town but they seem to be able to get weird parts that nobody else can so I do occasionally use them and their prices are reasonable

Help out The counter is NOT very well at this location. Maybe it's just THE person that didn't want to help. They thought I was a pain rather than help me.

We bought a battery from them which we have a receipt and credit card statement of the purchase. Supposedly it was new. Our car had some other issues and drained the battery. We brought it back to be charged. We just went to pick it up and claimed it wasn't there. I showed them the receipt and statement and the OLD lady said there was nothing they could do. So, they sold us a bad battery, never called us when it was charged, and then claimed it wasn't there. No apology, no refund, no replacement. We're out $211, and cannot afford another battery right now. These people are dishonest, rude, and completely without ANY customer service skills. Buy your car products elsewhere. THEY STEAL!!!

I needed new windshield wipers and I got great service! At first there wasn't anyone who could put them on for me but within the time I bought them a guy came in and did them in ten minutes! They work perfectly! Thx!

No working code reader, spring 2023, which is the only reason I had stopped by.

They had what I needed but I've had problems before where a employee actually tried to work on my girlfriends car and broke the gas line at the fuel rail changing the air filter, and he didn't say nothing about it. And got fired the day after for similar reasons. And they refused to do anything about it until I threatened to get a lawyer involved.

Policy or not you need to let people know about your return policy verbally. No one is going to read tiny print on a yellow sign that's in a spot that you know people won't look up at.With that in mind , I called this store about a car reader, and was sold a product that doesn't function for the reason I needed it. I am out money with a useless product that I'll never use base on a recommendation from your store. Also finally, I really appreciate that your employees walk to the back of the store when I asked you to test my car battery. Top notch customer service at this place, Would recommend it to noone.

Horrible customer service. I was sold a defective can of refrigerant, meaning no 134a left the can after trying 2 different nozzles on the gauges. Was not told they do not refund. Receipt does not say no returns. Defective products you can't use should be returnable. Stay away from this place.

I do not often do work on my car. However, it's nice to know that when I need to have something replaced or need to purchase something, Advance Auto Parts is nearby. I got wipers installed for free on my car with a qualifying purchase, and the employee even saved me money by grabbing a pair of wipers that I hadn't noticed were on sale. The staff seemed able to handle any issue quickly, and deftly helped numerous customers while I was finishing my transaction. I probably won't go back for a few months just because that's how I am, but I know I'll be going there and not anywhere else.

Sold me the wrong part and wouldn't accept it open for an exchange for the correct part. I said that's fine you can keep the incorrect part and I simply won't return with future business. Amazon Prime will deliver, no worries.

I generally like Advance Auto Parts for its reasonable prices on most of its products. But I had a bad experience when I went to get a replacement of brake pads kit that had limited lifetime replacement warranty. I'd ordered the items online and picked them up from the store. When I picked the items up, they had told me that as long as I own the car, I would be able to get replacement for the brake pads if they go bad. When I went to the store to get the replacement (with my old brake pades), the store manager said that limited lifetime warranty was only for 45 days and said that's what limited means (45 days). It's completely wrong interpretation of their policy because their limited lifetime replacement warranty says that you can replace the items as long as you own the car on which you used those brake pads. It's the same policy that Autozone has. I had the same situation with replacing brake pads a few years back and Autozone replaced them without any question. I even did not need to have my receipt as they have the record in their electronic system.

My wife stop by on June 6th 2019 at 10:50 am . She was going to have her battery and charging system checked on her vehicle. A free service they provide. The unknown sale associate told her that the battery needs to be out of the vehicle. Then he promptly moved on to the next customer. Now how do you check the charging system with the battery out of the vehicle? This is rude to miss lead someone that doesn't know anything about vehicles. If I would have been there things would have been different. I HAVE had some formal training on vehicle repairs and maintenance. The lack of respect and service my wife received today cost Advance Auto a long time customer. Never again will I stop and buy anything from someone that treats a woman with three kids like this just to move on to the next customer as quickly as possible.

Would give it 0 if I could. The last 4 parts I needed I have either ordered online (with the website saying it was in stock) or stopped at another location and had the other location say this store has it in stock. Every time it was not there. Tried to have them look up my account, they couldn't even spell my name correctly when I spelled it letter by letter. The clerk's only explanation for not having the part when they say they do is, "we can't find it". The clerk then looked on their company system for the part and said "there is one at this store, but they moved my number sheet so I can't tell you what store that is." Well, after today having the same experience as the last few times, they have made it so I will never shop Advance Auto again, not this location, not any location. Seeing as Car Quest is a partner company with them, I doubt they will ever get my business again either.

I called and needed a head bolt set, they told me they have 1 set on hand for $35, i drive over an hour to get them and they tell me that they told me again they have 1 set on hand, but they are actually $44... and there is no other ones on hand for $35 like I was told before. So now I'm calling around trying to find another place that has them on hand because I'm not wasting my money at a place that jumps the price between the time when I called and when I showed up

This location was really helpful. I brought in a couple of items that were still under warranty. Staff had issues located ordered but was eventually able to do. My complaint is at times online orders are not reflective in their on hand inventory accurately. Not sure why that is so hard and not sure who to blame.

Stopped in to buy a new battery since my old one was kaput, Jack was great help and installed it even in negative temps and was also game to diagnose my alternator which was fine, so overall they have friendly staff and good service. They were certainly much better than AutoZone who absolutely couldn t be bothered to help me, so I guess their loss Advance Auto Parts gain!

Never coming back -A month ago I came in to get a new battery, was told my alternator was also low and was suggested to purchase a new one. I was offered by an employee to have him change the alternator out, I accepted. During the process of him putting in the new alternator he sturck my gas line. He then covered the pressurized line with the cover and sent me on my way. When I returned with the complaint that I was now leaking a lot of gas I was suggested to "take that somewhere, that's serious." No effort to fix the issue the company caused. After coming back again, another employee attempted to shift blame onto me. Once finally speaking with the GM I was told to take my car for an inspection. It's been well over a month with gas leaking on my motor. I have received no calls back or email. Very poor and Inaffective service.

I do almost all my auto parts shopping online and pick up locally. The inventory seems to be sufficient the savings are great.I rarely have to return anything but when I do it's easier instead of having to mail it.

I purchased a marine battery for my boat & the battery was defective within 4 months with little use. Manufacturing date was 03/2020 so it didn't even last one year. Basically you can't return a battery at all once its hooked up to any vehicle, boat & etc. Offered to give me $10 but I asked for a exchange and the sales rep seemed hesitant to do so even though it wasn't my fault and more of a quality issue. Now I got a battery that I don't need.

Stopped into Advanced Auto Parts next to the Goodwill Store in Iowa City to see if they had a part for my 2000 F150. I'm a female college student here at the University of Iowa and I felt very uncomfortable while in the store, there was several men speaking Spanish including the cashier and they kept looking back at me and snickering amongst themselves. After 18 minutes of waiting the parts guy said my part was a "Dealership Part" only and didn't have it.Drove down to O'Reilly's on Riverside Dr. and I was in and out with the part I needed in 10 minutes !. I will never go back to Advanced and would not recommend it to anyone especially if you are a female and alone...YUK !

Curtis was a great help- he not only helped with the woman who was a new hire(who s name I did not catch, but was very friendly and willing to help) but was thoughtful towards our time and quick with the service. Thanks again Curtis we will be back with our next battery need!

Variety of parts is as good as any of the other parts store's. The greeting when you walk in is not there most of the time. It is neat and cleaner than it has been. I would give it an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Your average auto store. However, items in the store can be bought at half the price on line Brick and mortar stores are wondering why folks buy things on line? No surprise to me.

I have to go public with this matter.Advanced Auto Parts is selling unsatisfactory parts. My family replaced a Hub from Advanced Auto and not even a year later it cause us problems.Advanced Auto Parts does not back it's customer. The only offer another unsatisfactory part or gift card. So if you buy parts from this company Advanced Auto Parts prepare to be repairing it again. I. Now see why everyone is going to AutoZone and NAPA.

Not only do these nice people have no clue what they're doing, they'll tell you anything for a sale. After getting wrong part because they gave my husband close "enough" part #, we find out that they don't carry correct part! Thanks for wasting our time!
