My wife and I just purchased another camper from Herold's. We highly recommend them and would give then more stars if we were allowed to. The sales staff and service department are extremely friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. They are a large enough dealership to have a good selection and small enough to remember you. The walk-through was very fun and informative. We've camped for many years and we still picked up a few good ideas. This is our first fifth-wheel and it was used. Although the detailing was so good most people mistake it for new. Even though we live several hours away, we felt totally confident with the purchase as they have earned our trust, something rare in the camping industry. It was well worth the trip and we feel we got an incredible value.

I had stopped in to look at a used camperafter hrs, called to them the next day, they answered the phone promptly very nice staff, very helpful, I had an issue with my camper and brought it back and they are making it right with no issues, very kind and knowledgeable people there that have worked there for many years which is great!!! I will definitely work with them in the future whether it's a repair or a new camper. Great nice people to work with!!!!

They got my trailer in on short notice for what I thought would be a major repair. Very happy when I was able to pick up less then 24 hours later and bill was way less then expected. Will definitely be going here next time I need help.

This was our very 1st new camper purchase..we had Clay for our sales person ..could not have ask for a better guy..and rest of the staff were very friendly and professional..when we pick up our rig the shop guys walked us through every detail and had no problem answering our questions....highly highly recommend Harold trailer sales....thanks to all of you!!

Can t say enough good things about these guys! From sales to service & everywhere in between. We loved our experience & our newest purchase. We went from a DIY to a 2022, so we needed all the education on NEW. They did that + some. Tyler (I think) in service helped us learn all the things & Clay has helped us since February 2nd get into this beautiful new travel trailer. His dad Curtis was also helpful through the process, along with Bob on pick up day. We love Herolds & recommend to anyone and everyone.

Best buying experience we've ever had. Pam and Curtis are easy to work with and very understanding. The service department does a great job of going through the camper and fixing any broken or worn items. They don't have any hidden fees and only a charge 125$ on top of the agreed upon price. Feels like your part of the family when you shop here.

Just bought our first camper from Herold's (28 VBXL) and everything was great. We spent over 2 hours walking thru the camper and being able to ask any questions that we had the entire time. They also helped us set our hitch to make sure everything was safe before heading out onto the road. The entire team was great to work with and we would definitely buy our next camper from here. No issues and great service! The price of the camper was also 20% less then most of dealers in November of 2021, which is always nice.

I had recently purchased a 2021 Apex UltraLite trailer from Herold and had it shipped. At first the transaction was pretty simple and the price was good. I do believe it is because I made the transaction simple for them, I knew what I wanted and was ready to pay. Since the trailer was being shipped to my location, I asked that they complete a thorough inspection and take pictures prior to the visit. As you can guess, they did neither. When I received delivery of the trailer I noticed that the microwave was slanted, the shower surround was bowed, rain gutter was missing and the laminate on the cabinetry was bubbling. I called Curtis and asked for help in remedying the situation and sent him the email I sent Coachmen with the pictures and crickets, no response. Called twice but he wasn't there so I left a message with no response. It is unfortunate that you spend so much money on these trailers and their dealer network is only there to help until you drive off the lot. I would be extremely careful before considering buying a trailer from Herold. This is specifically true if you are out of state and are not able to inspect prior to taking delivery. The other issue is that other dealers are hesitant to take the warranty repair being that the trailer was purchased out of state.Added some images so that you can see how easy it would have been to spot if they would have looked and the laminate that has bubbled is on every piece that has a rounded edge.Hopefully this helps someone.

They sold me a new camper with issues from tail light not working to interior issues, Had a water leak in the bathroom first day using it. They sold me a hitch that was defective had to go back to get it replaced, awning has a hole in it that they never did disclose. Found that after I got home showing my wife her camper. Radio makes a strange noise in the speakers doesn't sound good. Upper bunk broke the first night using it. Could get the oven to light. The. They get rude and snotty when you tell them all the issues. Not happy at all!!!!Update they fixed all the issues we had used it once last year 2022 and brakes all needed to be replaced due to a faulty emergency brake switch that shorted out somehow. No longer in warranty, 1200.00 dollars later new brakes and hubs installed took it out once this year June 2023 and noticed hub cap missing during the trip. Got home to check the wheels and hubs found one side hubs where loose on the left and very little grease on the bearings. Both dust caps came off one chrome cap missing after coming home. Hubs really loose and tire could shake when jacked up. My opinion they didn t torque the hubs when installed could have caused more issues. Glad I checked the wheels and hubs. The right side was ok so I re greased the bearings and retorqued everything also looked like they reused the cotter pins. Still need to replace the missing chrome cap.

Original hitch promised did not fit, they helped me find a different option after acting like they forgot about it being included with the trailer. Not sure why it took a 2 weeks to run water through the system. Nothing was cleaned. Dog hair everywhere in the shower we never used. (Update) Brought the trailer back after camping the first time, things not working properly.. and a 1/3 full tank of previous owners feces. (drawers don't shut, sink leaks) Returned to the trailer for a week for "repair", said they did the best they could do. Nothing fixed.. Waste of 4 hour trip and back. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Spend an extra THREE thousand from a REAL salesman and make sure it works. Nobody has time for this. Hope I save someone time and money by choosing a different option.

I have shopped and researched campers for months now, almost to an annoying extent. I knew exactly what model would work for my family, and the search began for a unit in stock. My local dealer is having a hard time keeping the incredibly popular Apex Nano line in stock, and I randomly saw online one night that Herold Trailer Sales had some in stock. I contacted them out of the blue, and communicated a bunch of times with Rick. Always timely responses, never any pressure for a sale whatsoever, and he provided all quotes and deal promises in writing. Today, we drove 350+ miles from Wisconsin to this dealer to seal the deal. Absolutely painless, no added or other dealer fees even mentioned for one moment, and they even installed my weight distribution hitch as part of the deal. What I was quoted was exactly what I paid, not a cent more. I never felt rushed during the camping 101 intro to the unit, handed over my check from my bank, and done! 2019 Apex Nano 193BHS is ours!! In and out in an hour and a half(ish). It's an absolute relief (for once it seems) to deal with no B.S., friendly and helpful staff, and an honest company with hard working people. Thanks a bunch Herold Trailer Sales!!! I'll be spreading the word like wildfire!!P.S. I didn't say anything to them when I took delivery, but not that I have mine safely out of their reach and in my hands, I "regret" to inform them that they beat my local dealers price by $4,000!!

I want to thank Herold Trailer Sales for taking care of our furnace issue as quickly as possible. A special thanks to Bob and the service department for doing everything they could to get heat back in extremely frigid conditions. Incredibly dishonest! Bought a used camper from them, transaction was smooth. I was assured it was inspected, no leaks, everything working. I was shown the inspection sheet. First rain, leaks everywhere. After sourcing the leaks, I found all kinds of rotten wood. It was clear this has been an issue for a while and there is no way they could have missed it. Never do business with these scam artists.

We just purchased our 2022 Arctic Wolf 3660 Suite from Herold Trailer Sales. From meeting them at the RV to signing papers they made the whole experience awesome. Clay took excellent care of us through the whole process along with all the other staff. I highly recommend Harold Trailer Sales for your next camper purchase. Beyond excited with our new camper as well.

We recently purchased a 2021 Alpha Wolf from Herolds, and it was one of the smoothest experiences we ve ever had with a big purchase. Everything was very simple. The office staff was friendly, and the gentleman who gave us our final walk through was very thorough and explained everything well! This was our first camper experience and we love it! We fully intend to visit Herolds a few years down the road, when we are ready for our next camper.

I just wanted to send a note to say how much we appreciate the staff and the great customer service you have. When picking up our trailer, everything went smoothly and all the work was completed. Our service tech, Bob, was wonderful. He listened to us and explained everything to us and even showed us what we needed to know. He also kept asking if there was anything else he could answer for us. This was above and beyond regular service and he should be praised and rewarded. It started with when we purchased the trailer and the excellent service we have received since, a very big Thank you to all. Fall of 2019 we purchased a 2017 Big Horn 5th wheel that Curtis from Herold Trailer Sales was selling for a 3rd party. Our first experience with their customer service was when I called about the brackets on the glass cover on the stove because they had bent and didn't work. I sent them a picture of them and they said it would be about $50 to replace. I told them I thought the stove looked just fine without the glass cover. We decided to look on the internet and lo and behold an RV supply company had them for less than $5 for both.After that I should have known better but the gear in the slide broke and we figured we should go to a Big Horn dealer for repairs. We called to get it get an appointment in the fall of 2020 and were told they were busy winterizing so we'd have to wait until spring so we asked to make an appointment and they said they don't do that. We'd have to call back in the spring. I'm just going to say my husband is much more patient than I am. So the beginning of March 2021 my husband called and the lady once again says they're busy and they'll have to put us on a list and they'll call us. Well we're still on the "list" and yet to get a call and it's March 28th. The same day we were told that, I called Bowling RV in Ottumwa. We got an appointment for about 2 weeks after I called and that was because they had to wait for US to get our camper out of storage. So if you want great service and honest people go somewhere else! Oh and I had to give them a star in order to write the review. No stars!

Don t go to Harold s for any help! We stopped in on the way out of town with our Airstream, all we needed was a little help getting the sway bars into the slots to lock. My husband was trying to do it all by himself with my 81 year old dad, so I went inside but the lady told me they don t open until 8 and they re booked for the day . I wasn t asking for an all day appointment, just 5 minutes of help! So much for small town, Indianola hospitality! They absolutely deserve to go out of business! I really hope competition takes them over.

Not good as I hope having lots of family buying an bought trailer for there. The maintenance guy Bob ,he was the best. As I was a maintenance man before l retirement. There was a few problems with it Bob took care of it when we bought it had a few more problems with it they kind of worked on them. And the cleaning that they said they were going to do bad hand prints on everything air conditioning door so dirty I can write my name on it you name it it was bad mopped with a muddy mop. give me a break I could do a better job . but I bought a new one. Don't know if I'll buy the next one there.

Last Fall I dropped my car off at Herold's for winter storage. I met with Pam, who was friendly and helpful. Once Spring rolled around, she called me and said I could pick my car up anytime after 1 pm on March 31st at the Warren County Fairgrounds. I called to confirm the pickup and wasn't given any additional details. When I picked my car up, there was no one around from Herald's to verify pickups. My car was left unlocked with the keys in it. It was covered in sawdust from the barn where they stored it. In addition, there were 2 door dings that were not there when I dropped it off. Later, I visited the store and calmly asked the owner about it. He immediately became defensive and flatly denied any wrong doing. In fact, he accused me of the door ding! After I walked out of his store, he came out and said he'd give me my money back for the storage. Rather than apologizing, he said he didn't want my business or my money and that's why he was giving me my money back. I'm appalled that a small town owner could behave like this. I have several friends that love to camp and own RV trailers. I'll be sharing this story with all of them.

I was searching for a couple of different models of Apex trailer and they had both. I was surprised how reasonable the advertised price was and expected they would have all sorts of fees added like a lot of dealers. I WAS WRONG. Wow they had one fee of $75 for paperwork. No PDI fee, nothing. We negotiated the deal in 5 minutes over the phone and setup a time I would pick it up. We did the walk through and they suggested just a couple of inexpensive parts to install which I appreciated and purchased, they even installed them. I was impressed by their thoroughness in inspecting the unit. I have towed it 1400 miles so far and no issues. The only thing I found was something nobody test is PDI and that was the pre-wired Observation camera on the back of the trailer was wired backwards. I fixed it myself in 5 minutes. I can't say enough about how helpful, knowledgeable, nice, and personable every single person I encountered was. They took the time to setup my WD hitch and even redid it when they didn't like they way it leveled the truck. The BEST Price, the BEST sales process, the BEST delivery. Can't ask for more.

I would not recommend Herold Trailer Sales at all - the customer service was terrible. We went to ask a couple simple questions regarding our newly-acquired motor home - they were less than interested in helping. We were told to "just call the former owner". It was clear they are only interested in sales; once the sale is made, they seem to have no interest in servicing or answering questions. As we looked around for a couple of parts, we were asked to move our motor home away from the front of the store; the salesman said we were blocking the door. We won't be going back, nor would we ever consider purchasing from Herald's
