Rob and Kirk were fantastic to work with! I told them my budget and what I wanted and they gave me a few options that lead to the best car!

This 5 star review is for the service department. And when it comes to service, sadly, all Ford dealerships are NOT the same. My husband and I were traveling through Iowa, on our way to British Columbia. After a recent engine replacement, our truck started leaking antifreeze. Even though Steve Link Ford didn t do the engine replacement, the service department still went above and beyond to help us. The service tech (husband thinks his name was Mark; might have been Brad who we spoke to on the phone), quickly identified the problem. And even though he wasn t able to bring the truck in and do the repair (short staffed on a Friday afternoon), he located the part in a nearby warehouse and gave my husband the phone number to some different dealerships along our route, that might be able to squeeze us in for an emergency repair and get our truck fixed and get us back on the road the same day instead of us being stranded for several days. He also gave my husband the part number, told him how much the part would cost and told him approximately how long it should take to do the work. The original dealership who did the engine replacement passed the buck and said the antifreeze leak wasn t from anything they did (even though the truck wasn t leaking antifreeze before) and weren t willing to stand behind their work. Another dealership fixed the antifreeze leak for a costly $800 but wouldn t return our phone calls when we called to tell them that the truck was still leaking antifreeze. Steve Link Ford was willing to help us even though they didn t have to. They could have just told us that they didn t have the time, that they were short staffed or told us to take it back to the original dealership that did the repair. Instead, and in spite of the fact that they were indeed short staffed, the tech still came out to the truck, was willing to climb up under it and work with my husband to identify the problem. He then did what he could to help us get back on the road. He didn t have to do any of that and his kindness is very much appreciated.

Great sales staff and an excellent service department. Very friendly, no pressure and straight forward. The service after the sale is top notch. My sales person Don does exactly what a good sales person should: answers questions, and let's me kick the tires. No pressure, and is straight forward. The service manager Brad keeps the department running like a clock. When I show up for an appointment, they are ready for me. He keeps me informed, and his estimates for time are spot on.

I was dreading car shopping. Found a vehicle I was interested in online so we decided to check it out. Our experience with James was awesome right off the bat. He was honest, real, relatable, just made it seem so smooth and easy. The whole process was so laid-back and we drove off the lot the same day with our new vehicle. I would definitely recommend to anyone! Great local dealership!

Dealing with Steve Link Ford was a great experience! I live 2 hours from this dealer and I would definitely go back for another vehicle. Judging by my experience this dealership knows how to give out great customer service. I was looking for a used vehicle online and this dealership had what I was looking for, however, when I inquired about it it had been sold. Rob told me about another vehicle that would be coming in on trade the same week. This vehicle was even better than the one I missed out on, I am happy the 1st one was gone. :) I received a great deal on the vehicle and the trade in value I received was very fair. It was a very hot day when I was to pick it up on the way to the state fair to attend a concert. After I signed the papers and gave them the keys to my old vehicle, I got into my new vehicle and found out the AC was not working correctly. The owner, Steve Link, was walking by and stopped to see what was going on and when I told him, he got it right into the shop to see what was wrong. It turned out they had to get the part and take most of the dash apart to fix it, no way it would be done in time for us to get tt the concert. No problem, Steve said take your old vehicle for the night and come back in the morning by 10 and it would be fixed. My vehicle was actually done by 9:15 the next morning. As you can tell I can't say enough positive things about my experience, I will definitely be checking back with Steve Link Ford when the time arrives for the next vehicle purchase.

My wife and I recently purchased an explorer from Steve Link Ford. James was the sales representative that worked with us and it was the best car buying experience we have had. They didnt play any back and forth games with us and were straight forward from the start. They offered a very fair trade in value for our vehicle as well! You can tell that they care about their customers like they are family. Highly recommend buying your next vehicle there, ask for James!

Beware of the service department at Steve Link Ford! They are disreputable, unethical, unscrupulous, unprofessional, and downright offensive. The shop foreman is dishonest and a snake. The service shop here is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with this country. The employees at Steve Link Ford take no responsibility for what they do, nor do they even care about their customers. Their mission statement says they are highly qualified technicians who are dedicated to maintaining top tier customer service. That s a joke and is quite frankly laughable. Their words don t add up because the truth is not included in their statement. If they can t honor their words, then they shouldn t use them. I took my truck in for routine maintenance and got it back with a dent and a crease. Instead of accepting responsibility and providing the top tier customer service they claim to provide, the shop foreman acted extremely unprofessional and said I couldn t prove it happened in the shop and it s your word against mine. He refused to even spend five minutes investigating the issue. How hard would it have been to simply walk into the shop and ask the technicians or even simply look for something flaked with red paint? No one at this service center shows any responsibility, issues are all just swept under the rug, and the consumers are left with damaged property and a bad taste in their mouths.

Drove 7 hours and 35 minutes for what Kirk from the sales department described as a stand tall truck with no rust guaranteed because there from Iowa! So I drive 7 hours and 35 minutes to pick up this "stand tall" truck, and when I get there the first thing I find is rust in every wheel the bumper had paint gone and rust that was hard to miss! These people need to know when to stop selling and just be honest!!!

Friendly enough but, they will sell you a car with known defects and never say a word. Dishonest as they come, stay away.Details: The car in question is a 2014 Ford Focus. Needed a car fast and had to be in walking distance from home, The Focus had low miles and seemed like a good car. Problem is the early Ford Focus has a manufacturing defect in that the transmission chatters. It does not always do it so I did not begin to suspect the transmission until a few weeks later. Stopped by the service department and the shop manager tells me those transmission are a computer controlled manual transmission and the program needs to be reflashed. Seems others made the same comment as I was walking out. After doing some research it turns out it is an unfixable problem and apparently Ford refused to do a recall. There was a class action suit over the matter. Steve Link Ford had to be aware of such a well known problem, but did not mention it at all. I checked my sales papers and there is no mention of any problems. The car was sold as a car in good working order, something impossible with a manufactured transmission defect.

I'll give high ratings for friendly. But in the "best price they could do" they never mentioned the corporate rebates that every other dealer in Iowa were advertising. I bought for $6000 less elsewhere.

A 2020 Explorer (loaner from my Omaha dealer) overheated on I-80 with 1800 miles on it. Ford Roadside Assistance had it loaded in to Steve Link in Grinnell. Service Manager, Brad Donahoe & his mechanics diagnosed, repaired the problem, and worked overtime to make certain the vehicle was serviceable before putting me back on the road.Superb Service! If I lived closer I'd buy my next vehicle from Steve Link.
