Rarely purchase expensive items sight-unseen, and far away, however Brown s did an outstanding job installing trust, and working with me. I wasn t disappointed. They have a great team, highly recommend.

I bought a truck there. Long story short, I overpaid for it because they lied about rust not being under the fender flares that they installed incorrectly before I ever saw the truck. I asked about it originally before purchasing the truck and the salesman told me that the previous owner installed the fender flares incorrectly so there were gaps. He said they would be fixed before I picked it up. The second day I had the truck, it broke down and I had to return it to be fixed. I also noticed the fender flares were not fixed. Luckily I got the extended warranty, and it covered the issue with the low oil pressure (P0521 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Range/Performance). At this time I asked the salesman if they could throw in a lift kit or something to keep me happy about the engine issues and the fender flares not being fixed. He responded with "No, we already put new tires and the fender flares on it." I was in shock with this news I didn't say anything other than "I thought the previous owner put those on." He didn't respond. Later that evening I wrote the salesman a letter about how displeased I was about the fender flares and the lying. I told him I wanted to return the truck. He never responded. Less than a month later the check engine light came on and I had it back in their shop for (P0305 Misfire Cylinder 5, P2176 Throttle Actuator Control System - Idle Position Not Learned, P0521 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Range/Performance). Yes, the same issue from the first return trip. They informed me that the oil pressure issue would be covered, but the other $1000 of work for the tune-up and new throttle body would not be covered. I sat up an appointment to get the warranty work done and left. Since then, I haven't gone back and I had another code come up. P0446 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction. I had it cleared and changed cylinder 5's spark plug. I haven't had anything noteworthy come up since. I have owned the truck for 4 months now... The salesman talks to me like nothing happened. I took the fender flares off last week to fix them, and there is rust bubbles coming through the paint on both back wheel wells. If I could, I would return the truck.Unfortunately, I have put in a lift kit, a new stereo, DVD system with monitors in both headrests, and a grille guard. Easily $2000 extra. And I also have the spark plugs and wires to do the tune up. I would not reccomend going here...

This is a very unfortunate situation in the past I have purchased a few vehicles from Ben excellent sales professional I Recommend him to anybody that s looking to purchase a vehicle that being said as long as you re not going to get the vehicle serviced I Currently drive a 22 equinox and have experienced Some issues and the recall trying to schedule to get it into the shop. They tell me they cannot give out loaners because I have progressive insurance. Is this being my only vehicle and I take care of my elderly folks in my wife works in Prairie eye have to have it vehicle to drive. They tell me there s nothing they can do the recall you have to leave it or it takes several hours to diagnose. Yeah vibrations I have you re looking at sitting here all day. I haven t had a claim on my insurance in years. Why are we the ones that suffer? We ve been good customers this is not right.

We drove 1.5 hours because they had exactly what we needed. They knew we had a long drive so they helped us with the process as quickly as possible. Everyone was nice and professional. Zero complaints.

Bought a 2015 Cruze from Browns, vehicle didn't make it a week before the turbo went out. Turbos don't usually go out which leads me to believe they may have cleared the code and passed it on as a working car. I called to see if there was anything at all they would do, I was told it's not their problem anymore. Would not recommend and me and my nine member family will find someplace else to shop.First convo. I had with Browns was, "sorry there's nothing we can do" to "we'd like to offer $300 in store credit" to "we wish you would have brought it in, we would have maybe done 50/50. When you get the bill let us know and we'll figure something out." Called left a message and haven't heard anything back. I was on the fence about going back in the future depending how this turned out, but this was enough for me to say for sure we won't be back.

Roger and Beth were wonderful to work with, they took the time to explain everything without being pushy, which I really appreciate. Everyone was very welcoming as we walked around the showroom, they even got our granddaughter to feel comfortable enough to climb into what she now calls her car . I ve always heard good things about Brown s and I highly agree with them, I ll be showing off my new car and recommending your business to everyone! Thanks for the wonderful experience!

First big used car purchase. We had a great response working with them at Brown's and hope to purchase more vehicles from them in the future. We had a terrible experience from a different dealership and what we had thought we were getting a decent car from them beyond unsatisfactory. We asked questions about the vehicle we were interested in and received great responses from the Brown's Sales & Leasing team. We left feeling confident that we will have a reliable used car.

As always, another wonderful stress free experience at Brown's in Elkader. The salesman/staff were very accommodating. The vehicle I was interested in was at another dealership so they had it driven almost 2 hours to the Elkader location just so I could test drive it, that same day. The salesman was very knowledgeable of the vehicles history and specs, even though they had just received it and they stayed an hour past closing time to close the deal and send me home in my new Truck. Got the vehicle I wanted, at the price I wanted with friendly service and a free tank of gas to boot.

Drove two hours from Wisconsin to see these guys. Don't regret it at all. Beautiful drive along the river too. Bought a beautiful used Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD LTZ with low miles at an awesome price. They were very fair with my trade-in. I was in and out in just few hours. The staff was amazing and really cool to chat with. I feel like I made some friends. Special thanks to Ben, Lori and Curtis for a job well done. Ben saw to all my needs, Lori coordinated everything and Curtis got me a fantastic rate! Unlike any other car buying experience and I will be back. Thanks guys!

I was very pleased with how knowledgeable the salesman that sold me my Jeep was. Every question I had he had the answers. I did almost everything via text except test driving and trading my old car (which is a nice option during this pandemic). There was a few things I wanted fixed on the vehicle before I bought it. The staff made sure those things were done, and delivered the vehicle to me when they were done. Financing went super smooth and Travis made sure I got the best deal possible. I will purchase from Browns again in the future!

Just wanted to say Browns in Elkader gave me the best service I've ever had there today. Had my car towed in over the weekend. I called at 8am and they had it going In shop already . Talked to Tyler on phone. He called about my warranty gave me info I didnt get when buying warranty. Had parts and I was on my way out the door by 1230pm. Thank you to all involved. I had to wait a few minutes when I got there. Didnt make it to customer lounge as I ran into Greg and stood and visited with him so also thanks to greg for keeping me company. You guys were all amazing.

Recently bought a Honda HR-V from the Elkader location. I have been looking for a while and when I seen this vehicle I called and talked to Wade and he helped me make it happen. When I went to pick up the vehicle in a snowstorm Wes was very helpful in getting the vehicle ready and on the road. Thank you gentlemen for a "Sweet Heart of a Deal on Wheels".

Again, a fantastic experience working with Ben Hepke and Chelsie doing what they do best. I left in a 2015 Ford Fusion and getting top $$ for trade-in. Very professional and driven personnel. I wanted to share how disappointed we are with the lack of concern Mr. Brown has exhibited related to a letter that was written to him on November 19, 2018. I share that letter with you now: Hello Mr. Brown, I wanted you to be aware of some concerns that we fell into with our 2013 Chevy Equinox recently. First off, I want to say that everyone at your Guttenberg dealership has been extremely pleasant to work with and we have absolutely no complaints about this. Our bigger concern is the lack of being able to come to some sort of an agreement with the issue at hand. We purchased a Chevy Equinox in 2013 from you, as we wanted a vehicle that would be dependable for our family, while lending itself to good gas mileage. We decided to purchase our vehicle from your dealership, as we are also small business owners and prefer to do business locally. While our current address is not in Guttenberg, we do have a home in this town with plans for retirement there. We purchased the extended warranty and had no issues until September. My husband is religious about changing the oil every 3 months or 3000 miles and keeps a log of this. Imagine our surprise when the vehicle would not start and after being towed to your dealership, it was discovered the vehicle was out of oil. The oil had been changed on July 4, less than 3 months and 3000 miles, there were no oil leaks noted on garage floor, no smell of oil burning, the oil light did not come on, and the OnStar analysis did not alert us to this issue! We purchased the extended warranty, however, this had expired a mere 52 days prior. So, we were faced with spending an additional $4000 to rebuild the engine. We come from a long family history of purchasing only Chevy vehicles, however, with the lack of concern by the GM headquarters, we are considering a change. We would like to continue to keep our business local with you, however, we do not feel that we were given a resolution to this issue at all. Knowing the quote used on your website: "Treats the needs of each individual customer with paramount concern" we would like to request a short meeting with you at your convenience to hopefully come to a resolution. We are reasonable small town people and feel there is a middle ground that we can both agree on. Thank you for your time. We look forward to a call from you.As of today, January 2, 2019, we have yet to receive a call, a letter, an email or any form of communication from Brown's Dealership and are greatly disappointed in their style of service.I would have a hard time purchasing or servicing any vehicle from them again, given their blatant lack of concern and disregard for doing the right thing.

Placed a down pmnt on vehicle & loan docs were sent to finance co. When the finance co. requested new docs because they were incorrect I was told to send the info directly to the loan co. (which was incorrect for the loan Co.). It took longer than Brown's wanted/ expected & I received an email they decided to refund our down payment and "remarket" the vehicle. They didn't like working with the finance co. we chose. The vehicle had NEVER been taken "off the market" on the website yet. They would refund my deposit, but no check has been received yet. I was also told that if I found other financing they would be happy to look at finding me a different vehicle. And surprisingly the vehicle I was purchasing is sold already...within a few days at a smalltown dealer. They are fast to reel you in with all kinds of promptness and charm, but you might want to bring cash or not care about losing the vehicle you deal on.

Called about a truck, they had no price to give me. The salesman stated he would have to talk to the sales manager to get a price. Well a few hours went by and I called back and was told the salesman was out for lunch. Got a call back later on and was told a price and it was high compared to other same model trucks with alot less miles... If I was wanting to sell a vehicle I would definitely get a price on the first call, I'm sure that sales manager would not have cared to have been bothered. I don't know why I'm giving 2 stars....i guess I do not believe in giving 1 star.

What does this place sell??? I contacted 3 different people about the same vehicle all within two days. Two responded, but then never got back to me if it was available!My husband and I had 25k to pay for the vehicle outright, but wont be buying a Traverse from this joke of a place! A waste of my life I will never get back. Shouldn't have to waste that much time trying to get a salesman to sell me a car...I mean really what is their job??? Completely unbelievable

It was my first visit to your dealership service department. When I got there I could not find the service building, there was no sign saying service, so I parked the car, got out & looked to find somebody to tell me where it was, in the cold. So then I expected to have my car washed when the work was done, but it wasn't, so I asked why my car was not washed, she told me we do not wash cars. This taught me a lesson, I well go to the big city to buy my next car, & well get the good service that I am use to.Thank you, Bob Hartl

The people were extremely professional and easy to deal with. I would not purchase a vehicle from anywhere else. They went above and beyond to secure the best financing and made sure the vehicle was exactly what I wanted and needed. I couldn't think of anything they could have done to make the experience better or easier. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Greg was a great salesman. I have been talking about getting a new truck for a year and never pulled the trigger. That didn't stop him from answering my questions I had for him. Will be back again
