I went in for a tire replacement appointment and had a great experience. The man who helped me was very helpful. The tires I had requested were unavailable, so he gave me another option of tires that were more expensive for a matched price of the initial tires. He also told me honestly other things I may need to keep an eye on for my car without pushing me to buy more. I would recommend this location!

My friend needed her tires simply filled up with air and an employee named Scott wouldn t do it for her. He said he couldn t do it because the machine was broke, yet we watched him fill up another persons tires just before us. Shortly after, another employee offered to do it for us. Scott proceeded to tell him not to fill the tires for us because we were the rude ones. She was willing and able to pay for the service as well but was turned away. If I could give zero stars I WOULD. He was rude and had no customer service skills at all. A word of advice, find somewhere else to spend your money!

They charged a premium price to change a headlight on my car; they neglected to put the bulb in correctly, they put it in halfway so the light was being aimed at my hood instead of where it's supposed to be; so while there was a light, it didn't really light anything because it was aimed at my hood. Took it to my regular mechanic's and they had a good laugh, "never seen that before"... It was not a good experience and I will avoid them in the future.

The Team at Firestone Merle Hay Road is fantastic! Fair, Resonable and do not upsale. I take all our vehicles to them. Done right thefirst time. Highly Recommend

They broke clips, stripped bolts for my engine cover on the bottom side for an oil change. They refused to fix because it wasn't returned in 7 days. Per a different mechanic they were responsible for the damage. Been going to them for over 15 years and will no longer be going back.

About 7 hours of work done so I went home. I have used this Firestone on Merle Hay in Des Moines, Iowa for many years and they are knowledgeable and trustworthy and provide excellent customer service.

I made an appointment two weeks ago with Firestone to get new tires.I notice they book me for the wrong vehicle.Try to call and they don't answer. I go in on Friday to say "hey...wrong car" he tells me it doesn't matter. They can fix it at today's appointment.I ask him how do they know they will have the right tire size?? He says they carry all types.I arrive today for the appointment. They don't have the right size. SAME dude.They can order it though and I can come back in a few weeks.Never again will I go there or recommend them. Terrible service and waste of time.

I've always enjoyed taking my vehicle to Firestone. They don't treat me like a person who knows nothing about vehicles(which I don't) and are willing to answer all questions.

I brought my car for a coolant flush, alignment and break fluid flush and paid for and additional complete inspection.I received my car having an issue in the dashboard break light, it kept coming on and off and leakage from under the right passenger side.I brought it back to you because the alignment wasn't perfect, they mentioned oh yes we found an issue in on of the rear toes , I asked why didn't you tell me about it the first time, they said the person Forgot to mention it to you.I said okay well what about the break light, they said if you drive for one day it will go alone it might be a sensor reset after the flush.And they said the leakage is from a spill that happened during the flush and they cleaned it. I said okay great.Next day the leakage was still there, I brought it back, they said oh there is a leakage in the power steering fluid, I said but my complete inspection on the first day noted that no issues in it , so why did it come now. A Pause from the service advisor , that they forgot to mention it to me the first day, another person said I didn't mention it kz its not major! Well I know that there were no issues in my car except the alignment when I first brought it to you guys.This didn't end you will be hearing from me soon.None of the above matches the promises you made online and that you mention in your policy and that thing you post about honesty in your waiting room.

Horrible customer service. Called and made an appointment a week in advance. Upon arriving they told me it would be a 2 hour wait. I told the service tech that I had made an appointment a week ago. He said they had no records of me making an appointment. Decided to take my money elsewhere. Avoid this place. Lots of other shops more competent then this one.

This was a bad experience from start to finish and I would recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere.I had my car towed here over the 4th of July weekend and had nothing but problems. They figured out that it was the battery, which they replaced, but I also asked them to fix the gas cap opening mechanism. Not only did they not fix it, but they ripped the mechanism out and made it entirely worse. Turns out that it just needed a new fuse, but now I have to replace everything that they broke. They told me the center counsel screen did not work when I picked it up, and I asked them if they checked the fuses and relays. "of course we did" they said. I checked for myself and found that the fuse was missing, which I replaced myself. They left my car a mess and didn't put anything back where it was supposed to go.

I have been a customer of this location for about 13 years and I've had excellent service as well as customer service until about a year or so ago, on 3 different vehicles after oil change they somehow spill oil in the protective pan under motor and end up with oil in my driveway. Last oil change was 1-7-23 and again oil all over under vehicle. Electrical problem on a different vehicle diagnosed on 1-4 I believe and repaired on 1-5 (expensive alternator) was back in shop on 1-7 with same issue they had vehicle until 1-10 and couldn't figure out problem took vehicle elsewhere and they installed a starter and it's fine now.I have decided to take my business elsewhere Firestone Corporate isn't much better I have an incident # from months ago and both the store and Corporate were to have a district manager contact me within 48 hours. I would not recommend this location to anyone for any services at all.

I'm going to give this Firestone on Merle Hay A five star rating. The customer waiting area is kind of small but it was what you got from the people that worked inside that made the difference. Before they done any work on my car they told me all about it and the estimate cost of the service. Everyone was quite pleasant not like the services I received in West Town parkway they left my car a mess oil all on the inside on the steering wheel did not put a sticker on as to when I was to have my next oil change. They had a special running but of course it did not include the oil that was purchased for my car. There was extra work they stated that needed to be done that they said that they spoke to me about which is not true at the end of my service they simply gave me this paper that I read about when I got home. Like I stayed in the Firestone on Merle Hay I suggest you go have the people to look at your car and do the services I think they done me well.

Honest, compassionate, and thorough. We had a nightmare of a situation being stranded 9.5hrs from home on New Year's Day (also a Sunday, oof). This location was open, got us in, and started working on their diagnosis. After a few long days, and sincere dedication from the team, they were able to get us home safe and sound. Scott, the manager went above and beyond to make sure we knew that we were being taken care of and truly cared for. He even came in on his day off to make sure the job was finished and we were on our way. Thank you to the whole team who helped my family in a very stressful situation. Cannot recommend this place enough.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment, Brake service & repair

I went in for an oil change and got my tires replaced and aligned as well, I had picked up my car and its all the sudden it s stalling out and not able to hold idle without dying. I had to call people to pick me up and help bring the car back that wasn t having any issues besides the oil and tires beforehand. They fixed it after we brought it back saying it was a dipstick vacuum seal problem but for such a simple service, I shouldn t have had to drive the car back and waste more time and stress driving an all the sudden unreliable vehicle. I ve gotten my cars oil changed at other Firestone locations and have never had any problems. Save your time and drive up the street, there was no apology or any deal offered in the future for the work they couldn t do right the first time.Services: Wheel alignment, Oil change

I would avoid using this location. Customer service is lacking. I ve taken my work truck there 4 times in the past two months and the issue still isn t fixed. They either don t know what they are doing or they are milking the fleet account. Either way avoid this location

BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE.I went there since the air conditioning in my car wouldn't switch off, and after an inspection, they informed me that the temperature control fan was broken and that the total would be around 800. They listed parts for 520, labor for 171, and additional services totaling 800. Although I experienced similar issue with my prior car and spent close to $300 on everything, the part is available elsewhere for about 150. It appears like they are here to con people and the customer service was terrible. Waste of my inspection money.

Wonderful staff! They took care of me. My tires are amazing. Great prices too. I highly recommend it. Took some time though. I was there for a couple hours. Not sure if that's normal for getting four brand new tires put on, but it was worth it for the service I got. Very kind people.

So I bought a battery at Walmart and it is done before 1 year is up. I got the run around from Walmart on replacement short staff lines long and rude staff. Called Firestone Laila (sp?) was soo helpful from beginning to end . Excellent customer service and carried my battery to my car and took my fried one stay you Laila . !!Service: BatteryService: Battery

Took my truck into Firestone on Merle Hay in April i told them i needed the upper Radiator hose and thermostat replaced because it was leaking antifreeze at the hose and the a/c was not working. They replaced only the upper hose. I had to return the next morning to have them replace the thermostat. Now 2 months later my truck is leaking antifreeze again at the thermostat housing i called to make an appointment again but when it came time to take the truck down i called again to confirm the appt and the manager threw a fit because it was 4th of July weekend. I called and filed a complaint with the district manager was supposed to get a call back in 48 hrs now its 2 weeks later and still no phone call

Our daughter had a flat tire the morning she was returning to college. On a Sunday morning, there were limited options for service ... and almost all were unable to fix/replace her tire when called. Cameron at Firestone on Merle Hay Road immediately said they would take a look in between jobs if we brought her car in. They patched the tire and had her on the road that afternoon. Excellent customer service and a smile from every employee we saw while there. We couldn't be more pleased!

Seriously, just so thankful for the kind and compassionate response I got from this location, specifically the service Scott provided! After driving hundreds of miles, needing to head home, my two front tires had some serious damage. After calling every tire shop open in Ankeny and Altoona with no luck whatsoever, Scott worked with me to make sure I got in that day so I could get home safely. He made sure to provide information on what I needed to do next. Your commitment to serving customers in need is so appreciated, thank you!

On Sunday May 31st I hit a stone and a hole at the same time which sliced the side wall of my tire. I call this place and they were closing soon, but if we could get things changed in the next 20 minutes they would wait for us. Well to make a long story short we didn't make it in 20 minute but we stayed in contact with them, and they were willing to stay open 45 minutes longer just so they could get us a new tire and get us home safely which was 3hrs away. I was a mess by the time I got there but I never felt so cared for!! The 3 men that were working assured me I was no problem and that was why they were there was to take care of the customer. It was a very pleasant experience and if there is ever a question with my tires and I am in the area I will not for one minute hesitate to stop and have them checked out. I wish I would of gotten their names because they do deserve recognized for being will to go out of their way to help someone in such a time of need when all they would of had to say was sorry we are closed. You guys were an answer to my prayers and all I can ask is that God will bless you all in a way that I can't!! thanks from the grateful mom from Nebraska!!!

If I could give no stars I would. I have had several things done by them since last fall. First truck alignment, they not only didn't align, but also left latch undone on hood. Almost blew open on the way home. Had to bring back for second alignment. Bought a new set of tires, all sensors went off, they only put about half pressure in to all of the tires! Later needed a tire repair, took an hour and a half for a repair, I watched the mechanic walking around talking to other employees and showing videos on his phone instead of working on my truck! This winter, plowing with the truck that had two alignments, the tie rod adjuster came apart. This is a fool proof system if everything tightened down. My normal mechanic came out in middle of snowstorm to fix, he said bolts were loose from alignment and ruined adjuster tube. Cost me $700 to repair front end. I went back to Firestone to have re-aligned and to talk about damage. They wouldn't do anything about it. Manager John wouldn't even talk to me, made Laurie do it. Absolutely terrible service!!!! not the way you treat customers. I run a business and would never treat my clients like this! Won't ever go back again!!!!!

Scott at the Merle Hay location is a star. The mechanics are trustworthy because I never seen any of them upsell -meaning suggest work that is not necessary. Great people that s why a great place to go to.
