Tom Gilbert and team are top notch. My daughter came accross CHR a few years back and referred me. So far we have had oil changes on all of our vehicles, a Transmssion and radiator, Shocks & Struts, Exhaust, a Rear End, multiple sets of tires, EGR and many other Fixes. We are loyal customers for life.

This shop worked my car in when they didn't really have time for a possible electrical issue when no one else would look at it. One dealer was a week out for service and another one was over a month to even look at it! Turned out to be a bad battery. Took my car to Karl Chevrolet, where they failed to tell me problems with my car leaving me driving with safety hazards, CHRAUTO, found and noted the issues within an hour of inspection! Great people and great service! I brought both of my vehicles to CHR after being referred by my neighbor who had used them for years. They did exceptional work, did it quickly, and did it for a reasonable cost. Tom is a great individual who doesn't beat around the bush or try to talk you into anything you don't need. Exceptional service! They are more than willing to provide a loaner car, which I find to be a huge perk. Plan to use them as my primary auto mechanic into the future.Had grown tired of using Mills Fleet Farm after needing repeated visits to get my wheels balanced correctly and not feeling like repair work was done to the highest levels possible. Was also sick of needing to call 3+ times in a day, just to have to leave a voicemail that no one would return.CHR answered the phone promptly, offered to get me on the schedule that same day, and gave me the nicest smoothest riding tires! Couldn't be happier with their work.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

CHR is the place to go if your looking for Honesty and quality work for a fair price. There have been multiple times Tom has saved me from spending unnecessary money on things other places stated I needed. I can't say enough about Tom and CHR. This is the only place my family takes our vehicles to for Oil Changes and Maintenance. They do allow you to schedule appointment's for oil changes and have a comfortable place to wait. Oil Changes don't take long at all.

This is the place to go if you want someone/someplace that is 100% honest. I took my car there to get worked on. The got me in immediately and I was pulling a big trailer. No problem for them. They fixed my car and I was on my way. At a more than fair price.I dropped another car of my sons off there because it was running right. Very sluggish like a cylinder was out or something. I thought, how much should I put into this old car..... hmm. Let s say if CHR can fix it for $1,000 or less than go ahead. Tom said OK I left and hoped for the best. In the matter of a couple hours Tom had called and said my car was done and the charge was $23. That was because I had a hole in my tire and they fixed it. I said what about why it wasn t running right and Tom said oh one of your spark plug wires was loose so we just put it back on. That there shows how honest they are. Easily I could have been taken advantage of. Not with them. They are great. Please take your car to CHR and support Tom and his crew.

I know Tom professionally and went to CHR because I needed new tires and added on an oil change because it was time. I called and made an appointment same day. He gave me a *fantastic* price on the tires and got me in and out on time. The tires look great, plus he rotates and repairs the tires he sells. Thanks!

I have been using CHR for 2 years. They have always done exceptional work! I don t even live in Ankeny, but still choose CHR because I trust them. They have caught places like Firestone and LOFX lying to me about things needing serviced or replaced. CHR also gave me a free pre-purchase inspection as a returning customer, when I was shopping for a new car.

I first rated this shop 5 starts because they answered all my questions thoroughly and the work was cheaper than other shops in the area. I have been back CHR for a couple oil changes and am still impressed. Very nice waiting area, a big tv, comfortable chairs, and I'm always offered a beverage. This place was a great find!

CHR changed my fog lights the light bulb is hanging out of the socket. I had them fix my stabilitrak sensor they cut the wire and replaced it and they did a horrible job! Although, They did a good job replacing and balancing my tire!They should stay on tire business!!!Service: Electrical repairService: Electrical repair

I would recommend Tom & the guys at CHR to anyone! I found CHR through a parts company and fixed the same problem I had on another hub for nearly HALF of what I was charged elsewhere. I thought the previous company was on my side (had references from a friend's father who ALWAYS took his cars there) but boy was a I blindsided. I have done business with CHR 2 more times since & have been pleased both times. Sometimes it's hard to find good, honest people but look no further!Dani

We took in a 2008 Jeep GC for a re man engine because DeweyDodge said engine was seized...no oil. Tom called next day your Jeeps running! Yes it has oil it was starter an alternator. Honest repair hard to find theses days CHR gets 5 stars in my book

It's very hard to find an honest vehicle mechanic, so when you find one, let them know. Prices were fair, didn't try to upsell, and got me in quick! Highly recommended!
