I found this place because of air bag issue, after their diagnostic they told me that I had to go to my cars dealership and I did following Chamberlin diagnistic, I had a lot of issues with my cars dealership they always give me bad and stupid expensive diagnostics not even accurate, so when I took my car to the dealership I did make sure that they were following Chamberlin's diagmostic, and omg finally my airbag issue is fixed ! It fixed the whole problem!!! So happy that I found Chamberlin Automotive hands down I'm gonna recommend you guys and of course I'm gonna keep going to you guys, great job with the diagnostic.

Always get an honest assessment on whatever we need checked or fixed. They give an estimate of when something needs taken care of instead of pushing a fix today. We trust them to keep our older vehicles roadworthy and they never let us down.

The day when you find "your shop" for all of your future needs is a good day. I have found that with Chamberlin Automotive.I recently turned to Chamberlin to replace the A/C Compressor on my Cadillac when the dealer could not find an OEM part, and Chamberlin was able to locate an after-market unit to install. They did the work as planned, but more importantly, they stood behind their work.As it turned out, the new compressor was defective and caused fuses to blow. This took some effort on their part to diagnose since you don't expect a brand new part to be defective, and they had to rule out other causes. They warrantied out the part at no additional cost to me, and resolved the issue.It is refreshing to deal with a shop that is competent AND has integrity. Working with Ray and Don was a pleasure, and I will bring all of my business here from now on. I'll also not hesitate to send my friends and family for the same.Service: Air conditioning

Great customer service. I had a wrangler that would die intermittently after me replacing many parts. Donnie was able to diagnose the issue and make sure it was fixed. Donnie literally tested everything and I bet he charged me for half of the man hours he spent working my Jeep. He kept me in the loop and updated me regularly. My sons truck broke down in Des Moines and I called Chamberlin Automotive. Got it repaired the same day the price and service was outstanding. I know because I have owned and operated an auto repair shop for 35 years in Topeka Kansas (Shorey Automotive). My son is in college in Des Moines so I had no choice but to send him to a local shop to get it repaired. Thanks for a stress free repair.

Need for a temporary tire repair barely slowed me down Wednesday, day before a holiday. Was in and out on onto my next job. Thanks, Donnie, and crew for the friendly, personalized service. Comfortable, family atmosphere. Pet friendly. Even quoted me what would be a fair price on new set of truck tires. Close to home. Donny is amazing! We have taken our 2012 Lincoln to him many times and wouldn't dare go anywhere else!!! He is one of the few HONEST auto shops and runs on his word and integrity. Even with the chaos of COVID, his shop has managed to always get our car fixed in a timely fashion. He shares his findings and never makes me feel dumb when I ask for more clarification. He isn't there to nickel and dime you, but rather keep you safe and is mindful of your pocketbook. Very pleased with his communication and turn around time!

Great experience called in the morning and got in the morning, they fixed my car issue swiftly and there were no strings attached! Will be coming back for my car issues in the future. Very cozy wait room!

First time there and it won't be my last!! The staff there are great, it's a family owned business, they treat you like family, they do what they can to keep you happy. They fixed my car and did a great job. I wish I would of went there a long time ago!! The prices are reasonable.

First time client. Got many recommendations from friends, coworkers take my car there. And I agree. Donnie took on my unknown car problem, called w diagnosis and expected price and completion. Was thrilled even more when got it done sooner than expected. I set up appt next week for my 2nd car with variety of problems. This will be my go to shop.

Needed a car shop closer to our house. Decided to give Chamberlin a shot. Best decision. We've been able to get our cars in the same day we call. Super thorough on inspections. Great an communicating with us on what the issues are, how they can fix it and the price. Everyone has been extremely kind and helpful. Had just walked in after I was having issues with my tire pressure light being on even after I filled them. They where able to check it out fast and came to find I had a screw in there. They patched it up, drovr 4 and a half hours on it and so far no issues and it was for a good price. Nice friendly staff, will definitely come back!

My wife and I had a great experience working with the owner and team. They are incredibly knowledgeable about fixing vehicles, fair in price, and provide fantastic customer service. On a go-forward basis, I expect us to continue to use this place for vehicle repairs.

My brother used to work with Donnie as a mechanic and would never let me take my vehicle to any other person because he knew we could trust Donnie and a few other mechanics. With that being said, Donnie has been working on my cars for 11 years now! Donnie is very trustworthy and honest. A lot of people go to places because they are cheap. I go to Donnie because of the quality and trust that I have with him and his staff. I know that I will get the best service from his team!

I spent over $1,400 and they did not fix the problem, ended up taking my car some place else and they had no idea what Chamberlin fixed besides charging me of inspection charges from the invoice I received. They missed the bent tire rods, my car drove worse once I left the shop. They also did not check their work, when I started my car to leave it made a terrible sound, well apparently the mechanic who test drove it never turned on the A/C and the belt was not correct. They also had my car for longer then stated. Not a happy customer, feeling taken advantage of.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Brought my car in for a high idle issue. Believed it was a vacuum leak. Drove it 60-100 miles a day with no issue before i brought it in. Almost 700 dollars later I get the car back and it s now going into reduced power mode constantly. We had a pre-purchase vehicle inspection done and we were very satisfied. The staff was very courteous and friendly. They answered our questions and concerns about the vehicle we were considering and made us comfortable with our purchase. We were confident in our decision due to their professional opinion and through inspection. I'm an out of towner and needed significant car repairs. Not fun when you are out of town. But, wow! Donnie and Nicole treated me like family! I 100% recommend them to anybody needing an honest, personable, great and complete work and excellent prices!If I lived in Des Moines these great people would be my go to auto repair shop. Chamberlin Auto took my vehicle apart to work on it. When putting it back together they put parts on my vehicle that belonged to another vehicle they were working on next to it. They took my locking lug nut socket from my trunk and forgot to give it back to me. I noticed it missing and asked for it back. I do not recommend Chamberlin Auto.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Integrity, honesty and fair price. I am so very thankful for Donnie and his staff. The lady who answered the phone was very polite and Donnie was so patient in my repetitive questions and decision making. I am so greatful for thier services. I have a 2007 Nissan Xterra that would have cost time and more money elsewhere. He got me in and out on the same day! I feel safe driving my vehicle now. He will be my go to guy. Donnie Chamberlain is a class act. I have never been so pleased after getting my car repaired. This is the best automotive repair experience I have had in a long time. My car is a '68, and it was damn hard to get the alignment done correctly. And it would be for any shop in town. He took his time, and was always cheerful, and got the job done, and done right!! the first time!! I will definitely recommend Donnie and his crew to anyone I know!!

I was recently in the Des Moines area with the intention of purchasing a used car. After reading favorable reviews, I chose Chamberlin Automotive to conduct a pre-purchase inspection. Donnie not only charged far less than the local dealers for the same service, but the inspection was thorough, and he was completely honest about what was wrong with the car and what would require immediate attention. On top of it all, he managed to get me in on the same day, and I was in-and-out in about 30 minutes. 30 MINUTES! (the Lexus dealer wanted an hour and a half..) Coming from an out-of-town guy who had crossed fingers hoping he chose a good shop, I highly encourage you to consider Donnie and the Chamberlin team for your automotive needs. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't. 5 Stars!
