First I want to say the service here is great but the new call center isn t. When I called to make an appointment for an oil change I wanted to confirm if this is the correct location and all she could do was tell me the address. Well I arrived for my appointment and they didn t have me on the schedule. So I showed them my confirmation and he said he would get me in. While waiting another customer said the same thing happened to him this morning. Another customer came in and they too had confirmation for an appointment but it wasn t on their schedule. Let s just say the call center isn t getting scheduled appointments to the business.

everyone was nice and welcoming but zip tied my splash guard because they either lost/broke the clips and did not tell me. Also used a walmart oil filter which i didn t have a problem with just seemed cheap

My Volkswagens serpentine belt busted while I was visiting family in Des Moines for the holidays. The car was towed here the day before Christmas Eve and they had us back on the road the day after Christmas. We really appreciate the team taking care of us quickly and Matthew did let us know of other issues we need to assess but also understood we needed to get home and sent us on our way without pressuring us for additional services. If I lived in desmoine I would look to get all my car work done at Car-X because you can't beat a quick and honest mechanic.

These people just want your money! My car has been in and out of this shop several times and they can never seem to get it right. They are no good at their jobs!!!!! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE

Turns an hour worth of work into 4 days. Terrible communication. sketchy behavior and terrible customer service. Don t give them your property. I will never use this place again. Expensive. They never call when they re suppose to, my car has been ready for hours and I ve been waiting for the call. Wake the hell up Matt

Not good. I bought a tire from them. They mounted it. Broke TPS Sensor. But didn't charge me. Then said it would reset on it's own.Then all tires are black wall out. Not this one. They put white letters out. Wow!! won't be going back. Also stripped out center cap by using impact on it. These people have no clue what they are doing.PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!!!

Have been coming here for years to have my cars serviced. Prices are now astronomical and the front staff (in my case was a lady) is extremely rude. Couldn t figure out basic tire size, couldn t schedule an appointment, and hung up on me when trying to schedule an appointment. Everyone here used to rock. I highly recommend car x replace their front staff because they are causing you to lose loyal customers and business.Services: Tires, Oil change

Busted a cap, they replaced but it didn't fit properly. Drove to Omaha the next day and low oil light came on. Spilled oil everywhere. Found out when they took the old filter out they also the away the housing unit with spring and cartridge and just put a filter in it. Damaged our vehicle by running it low on oil and only offered to pay for the bad oil change . Had to pay Toyota a lot of money to fix their mistake. Would NOT recommend!!Service: Oil change

My car was needed 2 ours work they keep my car for five days. I called Morgan 20 times asking about my car. They say they have only one mechanic he is off for today. He will call me when cars ready to go after they called me, I pick up my car, I check it before I leave the shop. There was too many messed up messing antifreeze my car missing antifreeze tank cap. Missing too many screws. I told them to finish your messed up Micanic guy was so mad on me he just had little antifreeze and told me ready to go I told him please had more antifreeze put the screws in the place and find my antifreeze cap this car not ready to go. We bring our car here regularly to get the best prices, honest work and good communication. Brought my sisters car in to get work done as a favor, explained that I needed the car to be safe and functional even though there were several small issues at that time. They understood and worked with us to fix what we had to right then and make a plan to deal with the rest.

I'm a woman with a car. I came here because this is where I got my tires and one of them had a bubble and was under warranty. I wanted to get that replaced. While doing that they gave me this quote of like 2400 of other stuff that needed to be fixed. I went to my trusted mechanic and they're only two things that needed to be fixed totaling about 700. Definitely get a second opinion. Needless to say I won't be coming back not even for tires.Service: Tires

Brand new tires with an alignment performed by car-x. Car-x misaligned by 1.25" ruining this set of brand new tires in less than 3 months. Car-x confirmed the tire was cupped / ruined after service when i said i didnt think it was right. Been waiting on a call from Tyson, district manager to make it right.

The few fellas at Car X are the only ones you need. Stellar service, sound advice and so far the job looks perfect. I d pay a little extra for service of this caliber but the glory is, they really are proved to compete. Thank you for the new rubber and sound ride.Service: TiresService: Tires

Had my car serviced about 3 weeks ago. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Willing to answer any questions I had about my car or about the work they were doing on it. Before working on my car, they brought to my attention any concerns they had about the vehicle before servicing it. Definitely recommend if you are willing to pay a little extra for great work

This shop fixed errors that another shop made. They worked with me and the other shop to get the car back on the road. If I ever need work done when I'm in Des Moines, I would go here again. Shop manager, Erin, gets extra stars for this place. She was extremely helpful and made the experience tolerable.

Brought my car to this store for the first time with a coupon for an oil change. I gave them the coupon up front. No one bothered to call me before doing the work on my car to let me know that the coupon would not apply. So rather than a $35 oil change and tire rotation, I was charged $120. Very upset. Will not be back.

Chris is so helpful every time I am having issues with my car. From tune ups to random issues he is attentive, understanding and a wealth of knowledge!!! He is always ready to give insight into the vehicle based on his experience with so many different types of cars. My first Car-X experience was in Ankeny and they were AWESOME! They fit me in on the fly and even took me out to the shop to show me the underbelly of my car. I had a MUCH better understanding with the behind the scenes service! Thank you to Doug and Joe for that! This time, I ended up at the Merle Hay store for an oil change and worked with Chad. He was great! He got me in right away and the work didn't take long at all. I had a great time chatting with Chad and could tell he was super knowledgeable and experienced. Thanks for entertaining me with good conversation Chad!

What an amazing experience! We were in DIRE STRAITS after limping into Des Moises during a road trip from Houston to Minnesota and we needed help. We were desperate. After arriving at a hotel at 3am, we needed to get back on the road ASAP. After calling 7+ other mechanic places and being told that there was no way to be seen for 2-3 weeks (what!?) We finally connected with Don @ CarX. He assured us that he could take care of us, and he delivered! He went to great lengths to aquire the part that was needed and install it all within a few hours and get us back on the road! He is a champion and I would HIGHLY recommend going to him FIRST for any of your car needs.

Car-X is hands down the best Car repair shop one could find. They are very professional, offer high quality repairs, and have an impressive attention to customer service. Chris always goes above and beyond to make sure every time I come for service to 1. Explain the situation in a way that I am able to understand and 2. Super fast and friendly staff. Clean waiting room. Able to accommodate my 2017 VW Golf for an oil change. It took them about 25 minutes from start to finish. Their price was about 40.00 less than the dealership charges. I'm very happy with the service I received and would recommend this Car-X to anyone looking for a quick oil change without any of the upselling of a dealership.Service: Oil change

I had a power sterring fluid leak so while I work I called to make an appt to have it checked once I got off had to leave my car there since it was already 5pm estimating the work was going to cost me 900 dollars. The next day I get a call and now my total for repairs is 3000 dollars which was excessive but what could I do I need my car fixed. The mechanic suggested that I apply for this snap finance to help with repair cost well what I did not know is that this 3000 dollar job just cost me 6000 dollars. I will never deal with this place again, what ever happened to honesty.Service: Engine repair

We were driving through town on a long road trip and our check engine light and check brake lights came on! A bunch of other mechanics were unavailable but these guys saw us right away. They were busy, but quick, and John had a theory about why the lights came on when we had just had the car checked out (literally 2 days ago before going on our trip!) his theory was right, he showed us what happened, and we weren t even charged. Got my oil changed and LITERALLY days later my engine light comes on. My oil pressure gauge is at the highest it can reach . I take it back to them and now I need to pay $1600 to replace my oil pressure housing and sensor. But wait they'll do it for $700! Absolutely should be free. Especially when I call around and it's a $1000 repair everywhere else. WOW THANKS A LOTService: Oil change

I usually have a great experience at Carx. I've been taking my cars there for years. They're typically very timely (as long as they aren't swamped) and very courteous; no complaints. The last time I was there I took my car in because it was making a loud noise. They also checked under the hood and found that I needed my battery cleaned.So they fixed the noise issue, protected the battery and rotated my tires. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

I got a muffler installed here a month ago. I called before hand to see how booked they were but they weren't busy and I was able to come in right away. The muffler I bought didn't come with a gasket but they called another of their shops and was able to get one brought over quickly. It only took 1.5 hours from calling them to driving away with the muffler installed. The dude working the lobby was awesome.Service: Exhaust

I had leased cars for the last 11 years. I was apprehensive about taking my recently purchased car in for service. I needed an oil change and apparently had a slowly leaking tire. I was greeted very nicely and the gentleman at the desk listened to my concerns and requests. The work was done for the quoted price with a small add on for taking care of the leak issue. I was given positive feedback about my car and everything was explained thoroughly. It is good to know that Car -X values their customers and having to get a car serviced as opposed to lease maintenance work is not as scary as I had feared. Thank you Car-X.

Quick and complete service from a knowledgeable staff. Had two services over the last couple weeks with a oil change and a mechanical fix. Oil change was fast and they were on schedule. Mechanical fix was checked out the day I dropped it off, they called with options that afternoon and had the vehicle ready to go the next day by noon. Quality service, would recommend.
