Dons, towing was awesome I am from Independence I was in Decorah, working my van would not shift out of park. They sent over a service person to our jobsite, and in about 15 minutes he had the problem solved so I can make it back home Thanks a lot for the fast and awesome service.

Came to Decorah for vacation and our vehicle battery crapped out. I was told to take it to Don's Sales & Service, which I did. He had one of his technicians put in a new battery and saved our vacation. If I could give more than a 5 star rating I would. Thank you Don for a great experience at your business.

Was stuck on the side of the road. The person on the phone took all my info and within 20 minutes, Don, himself showed up. It took a bit more time as he awaited for safety control; my car was situated between two hills. Once they showed up, he had me back on the road in a jiffy. I've known Don for over 30 years. Great service!

I couldn't be happier - thank you Don & Don's team. Being a couple hours away, and having a daughter with a stranded vehicle is not the most fun situation to be in. Thankfully Don answered his phone later in the evening, and confirmed he could get the vehicle towed to his shop. Icing on the cake, Don's was able to fix the vehicle for an extremely reasonable cost. You saved the day, Don - thank you!

Don's has been a lifesaver for us. Our daughter is a student at Luther College and we are 90 miles away. From towing her car after an accident in Decorah to Cedar Rapids 2 years ago to now, helping us get her situated with 2 new tires within 8 working hours, we are very thankful for the services they provide. Parents - if you have a student at Luther, you can rest assured, Don's will take care of them should they need any of those types of service.

Don is a life saver! Cannot say enough good things about him!We're from out of town enjoying the weather and I locked my keys in the car..on a SUNDAY! when I called don sales and services he answered right away and came as soon as he could! He could have charged me anything but he didn't. Just a tiny fee of $40.Thank you again don! We wish you the best!

I went in for an oil change on my Subaru and knew the rotors were needing attention. Unfortunately they were too thin to be resurfaced so they needed to be replaced, along with brakes and a ball joint. Don's rates are far more reasonable than the local Chevrolet and Ford garage in town for all the work I had done. They're also incredibly friendly and organized.

Very friendly mechanic. Very reasonable price.Tried to replace the starter on my own and could not finish the job. Asked for Don's towing and the towing guy started the car free of charge. Brought my new starter and mechanic helped me replace it within 30 minutes. The original quote was $140 and in the end I was charged $70 only because it was a quick job.Babcock Auto Repair in Rochester asked for $600 to do the same job. Next time I would just drive all the way back home for Don's.

Did great at first hauling from where I wrecked. Then a few days later on 10/26/21 had them hual my truck to the farm and it was Don the owner that followed me and delivered it set the truck up to roll off and I guess he unhooked the winch from the front to which Ive always been told stays on for safety he said he never does. Get in my truck that has no brakes since it was wrecked is within 2 feet of my grandparents new shop and about rolls it into ditch. So I said hold on let me see if you broke anything, he gets in the truck and leaves. When I was behind the truck I see ran over and breaks our stuff sitting along side shop and scratched the bumper on the truck which I was going to fix.

Don's has serviced my GM, Volvo, Ford and Honda vehicles for a decade. Don, Ron and staff are always courteous and helpful. Maintenance and repairs are thorough and fair -- or Don will make it right. I trust Don's.

If you value the safety of your loved ones, do not step foot on the premises of this garage. I trusted in thee simple fact that a mechanic in a college town would have the best interests on the students and their families and I was sadly mistaken. He not only charged my son for making an issue of a bad tail light turn into his having no brakes lights and no turn signals to drive all the way back to North Carolina; after I spoke to him about his being in the wrong sending a student back on the road with a car in such condition, he condescendingly informs me that it s not his problem and it has to do with the way I raised my son. He knows nothing about what a great parent I am and he needs to look deep within himself and examine his lack of ethics toward others! Please pass the word so this does not happen to your student when you trust a community to take care of your child when they are far away from home at school!

I don't know what that other comment was about. The prices do seem a little high, but that's why you "haggle." As far as 'condescending' I dealt with the owner on a trade he had on the lot. He stayed well past closing to help me with all the paperwork. We spent half the time talking. I will absolutely consider doing business with him again.

If don would treat people from out of town the same as locals... The reviews speak for themselves. If you're from bluff country Iowa or more specifically the decorah area then you're ok. But if you're from anywhere else DO NOT GO HERE. Me and my family haven't forgotten about you. What's left of my family that is.
