Breaks Plus on Hickman is 5 stars NO DOUBT!! They have an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff that was happy to help with all of my car needs. Darren was especially helpful and trustworthy in my experience. The process to get me in was incredibly simple and quick, they even have a free shuttle! You can tell that the employees truly care about their customers.

New to the area and needed my brakes checked after hearing them squeak. They got me in right away the next morning after a quick call.Their staff is fantastic with great customer service and hospitality while I waited.Super straight forward and honest.I can say truly say that I will be returning.

I needed work done on my vehicle and the shop that I had been going to charged me $165.00 to check things out before they would do any work. I was in a bind and they could get me in, so I agreed. They not only provided me a quote for what I had gone in for but for an additional $5k, including another fee to check my brakes. Long story short, I scheduled an appointment for a FREE brake inspection with Brakes Plus and had Nick and Team give me a quote for all of the items listed from my previous shop. They saved me almost $4k!!! And note, I didn't need some of the work I was quoted from my previous shop.I am saving the best for last. From the minute I walked in, I felt respected and was provided friendly and honest advice. They didn't give me the run around or talk shop talk. They were helpful and gave me options that I knew were with integrity. I have been back and heard them treat customers with the same care. It's not a fancy new shop but it is clean and run well with mechanics that know their stuff. They live their values, not just words on their marketing material. I felt taken care of and found my new shop!

The staff was very kind and as a women we are taken advantage of when going to the mechanic. That did not happen here. The staff brought my back and showed me what was wrong and explained completely what I was looking at. The service took longer than 3 hours so the staff got me a lyfe too and from my house! That was very kind. Will absolutely go there again.

I had my Honda Civic serviced at this location and i am beyond pleased with the service. From start to finish, everyone is so kind and explains everything well. I highly recommend their services and good prices! Thank you again! I will definitely bring back more of my cars to get work done. This is now my go-to location!!! Awesome job brakes plus!

Tonight we went for dinner at the restaurant in the same building as this business. I was getting my one year old daughter out of the car when this creepy dude approaches us in the dark and starts aggressively asking if we were going to park there. For reference, we parked on the west side of the lot. It really freaked me out as I had no idea who he was or what his intent was. He goes on to say he is going to have my car towed (he didn t ask me to move, he just started with threats). I looked around and asked what he was talking about because there weren t signs anywhere saying no parking and he said there will be one by the time you get back and walked away, even as I asked him what he was talking about.I walked around to the other side of the business to let them know some crazy guy was harassing people and this guy comes back in and tells me he s the general manager. My husband comes back because he sees the crazy guy walking in and got worried. This guy, Nick Trapp according to the business card he handed me, continues to threaten to tow me if I don t move. He refuses to speak to me and turns to my husband and will only speak to him (my husband wasn t even inside, he was just standing in the doorway with the door open while holding my daughter) . I have to move into his line of sight to get him to speak to me, as it is my car and I am the driver. I ask him where the no parking signs are and he tells me he doesn t care, and he ll do what he wants. He then tells me he will tow my car and move it one spot over. It made no sense as the entire west side that I was parked on was full.Then he starts manically repeating have a good night . It was the weirdest and most concerning interaction I ve ever experienced. From approaching a woman and small child in a dark parking lot to threatening to illegally touch my vehicle, I was absolutely stunned.I have the entire thing on video. (For anyone wondering, I did move my car immediately, and if he had nicely asked, I would have in the first place. I only parked there because several other cars parked there at the same time, all headed to the same restaurant as us, because there were no signs saying we couldn t. I didn t see him approach any of the other families though he swore he did.)If anyone from this company would like the recording, I d be happy to provide it. I know I would be horrified if this guy was representing my shop. All he had to do was ask me to move the car because he needed the spot for his tow truck to maneuver and I would have, regardless of the fact that it didn t make sense as the entire row was full of cars.

Was sent here by discount tires. They couldn't get a lug nut off, these guys did it, for free! Their oil change is half price off, and the wheel alignment is pretty much the cheapest in the town. The restroom is the cleanest I have been to any such establishment, and that means a lot!

I was very impressed with the service advisor, Curtis, and how he ensured great service, a better deal than my previous auto shop, and a much more timely visit, as he had my parts Door-Dashed in so I wouldn't have to wait longer! What a great experience! I found my new auto shop! Thanks, Curtis!

This place is amazing. The people were very nice, I came in because discount tire had said that I needed new tires so I came here and they put my car up in the air and brought me out to show me. They showed me the tread and that it was still good and explained everything to me. Very professional, very fast, and a good experience overall, will definitely be going back!

I am in complete aw of this team in Iowa!! They completely pulled a miracle for me. Only in Iowa for a short time needed to be back on the road and they went above and beyond their customer service support... Everyone at Brake s Plus is super professional and kind! They did a great job on my old-lady-baby SUV. Oil change, tire check, air filter, and brake flush combo was very reasonable as far as price goes, and was sorely needed. (Shoutout to the green fluid that was in there previously )10,000/10 Would recommend

Let s just say being a girl mechanic shops don t make it easy on us. I was quoted a little more then what I thought it would be to replace all brake pads and rotors! My friend gave me a suggestion on checking out brakes plus! When I tell you to call this place first I mean it. They explained everything to me, I didn t feel like I was obligated to buy anything right then and there. The quotes on what I need was decent prices and they explained everything as well!! 100 recommend!

Needed coolant system flush on 2009 Nissan Altima. Scheduled appointment the day before and they were able to work me in first thing in the morning. Very professional service and reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

I moved to IA from AZ and 4 weeks later my car started running really rough. I brought my car to the Brakes Plus in Clive because it was the only shop I knew (long story short, I had a car towed there over a decade ago when it broke down on a cross-country road trip. It was Tuffy's back then). Despite the extent of the problem, the limited number of staff members there, and the volume of appointments they had (no surprise since it was a Saturday morning), they got everything fixed and had me back on the road quickly. The price was more than reasonable, as well, considering the repair. Most shops charge more for labor than parts, but that wasn't the case here! Despite the hit to my bank account, I couldn't be happier with the price and service I received since I know I would have been charged more elsewhere. My car is old but is running great now thanks to Nick, Cory, and the rest of the crew. Thanks!

Good experience and overall service. They were able to work on a long project on the same day and the work appears to be of value. Services included new shocks and struts, oil change, as well as fixing an issue with a fan. Recommended.

The first visit I came here for a second opinion on price for a brake change they were half the cost of the first place I went. They don't try to upsell you and they provide honest feedback on your vehicle. I brought my truck in a second time and they took a look at it for free and let me know the only issue they found would be something covered by my warranty and again didn't try to squeeze a sale in.
