I ve had better service before but they dropped the ball on communication. I called them 5 days ago to have a part installed that was from the factory not after market and they had no clue about it. They said they would get back to me after doing some research and never heard anything so I made an appointment to go in and get it done. They basically told me that they are not sure if this part will work with my truck. So I called the manufacturer they looked up my truck by VIN and had 2 techs say yes it will work so you guys might want to remove the certified Chevy from service.

If I could post negative stars I would!! I grew up in Cedar Rapids and have always heard do not go to McGrath, and boy I can not shout it loud enough DO NOT GO!!!! We purchased a used but not cheap vehicle the end of September and finally have possession of it! They sold us a 30k plus vehicle with a very obvious powersteering leak and on 3 occasions told us they fixed it and never touch it. We could never reach anyone, was never called back and even on one occasion was told they had no record of us or our vehicle.

I will never take my car here again. I had an appointment and was told I had to wait till the following day to get my car looked at because of them being short staffed. You only have one point of contact and if they aren t available then you have no clue what s going on. The communication is trash for the price they charge. They have now had my car for 9 days and was told it would be ready by a certain day now that s pushed back because of short staffed again. That is something they should be honest about up front

I could complain for a page or two about how they are a horrible place to go.. I do not recommend them to anyone. I wish I could give them zero stars..the only thing the manager is good at is avoiding your phone calls and not calling you back.. very expensive and They won t accept if they made something worse. They won t admit if they did something wrong.. Being 220 miles from home and at the mercy of services I had never needed, I cannot give enough praise to the service department at McGrath. John was extremely pleasant as was the rest of the staff in the service department, especially given the fact that I had my Great Dane with me. They had me come in immediately and it was only hours later I was back on the road. Everyone was very pleasant, very accommodating in providing shuttle service for me and Pippin and I will be forever grateful that the issues with my Traverse were fixed. This is not the first time I have left a review about Colin at the service center! He is the absolute best! I will never take my car to someone else! He always puts himself in the customers shoes and is 100% transparent and honest! I trust him and his opinion on my vehicle with absolutely no hesitation! Service staff was very accommodating. This was my first time at McGrath. Liked the courtesy transportation. Easy to sign up with my phone. Easy to request a ride back. Took care of my repair and even got done an hour earlier than expected. Won't hesitate to return .

These folks are AMAZING! Our Tahoe had the windshield replace 10 days ago by another company and started leaking. They were extremely helpful and assisted us by taking care of our concerns. They did everything they could to ensure that no more rain was getting in to the interior of the vehicle until we can get back to MN and have the other guys reinstall the windshield properly! Highly recommend to visit them when shopping for your next vehicle.

If I could give this place -5 stars I would. I bought my mini van in 2021 not even a couple months later the rack and pinion needed replaced. They replaced it and a month later it was leaking profusely yet again. They decided to replace it and then tell me I needed to pay for it. I spoke with the manager and they took care of the payment. Well now again the rack and pinion is yet again leaking how come the rack and pinion has failed 2 times in less then a year if these mechanics are master mechanics they should know what they are doing!!

Was scheduled for an oil change at 9:45 am was completed and on my way about 10:50 am. Advisor was Chris G, he was very pleasant and easy to talk with. Happy with the service I received.

Came in for an oil change and for a slow leak in one of my tires, they told me everything was good and I paid. Not long after I had to take it somewhere else because the tire was so low and there was a pretty big nail... Very disappointed that they didn't see the nail. Also my car normally came back dirty inside and there is a stain on the inside roof I can't get out.

My vehicle always comes back dirtier than when it went in. The techs leave oil smudges on the front bumper and grill. Sloppy work

We have purchased several vehicles from McGrath over the years. It seems like every experience has gotten better and better! They listen to the customer and their needs/wants and match that. They make car buying easy and pleasurable from start to finish. No complaints!

The experience was good, the inspection was completed within a couple of hours and the issue was fixed after discussion within the next one hour. Process was clear and hassle-free.

On my first visit, the consultant said I needed roughly 1300 in additional services and told me I was past due on them all. I only just bought the vehicle a year(ish) ago, and it was already past due apparently. I had no idea on any of that. I also reviewed the manual for my vehicle and found that the service department was telling me I needed to complete the maintence listed in the manual for severe driving. I've had the vehicle roughly 1.5 years and only put enough miles on it for 2 oil changes. While I appreciate getting the recommendations, it would be nice if he talked about my driving habits or severity, or explained why they suggest 1300 worth of additional services. I contacted LYNCH Chevy/Ford and asked them about the consultants recommendations and they seemed to think McGraths was being a bit aggressive on the services. Again, I understand, the best way to prevent issues is aggressive maintenance. Again, the consultant seemed nice enough, but didnt explain anything and just sort of went on auto-pilot about me needing all these additional services. After speaking with LYNCH i also contacted CR Transmissions and a couple other places asking them the same questions, and they all said the same, that McGraths was being very aggressive of the maintenances. Again, I read and understand the manual, and while i do not entirely disagree with the maintenance schedule, it would be nice if someone explained. Also when I picked up my vehicle, the consultant was gone for the day... I went in and stood next to his desk with my 7 year old girl, for maybe 10 minutes while all the other consultants just stood around talking with each other and going about their day. Not one person greeted me. I walked into the dealership and had to ask the front desk lady to get someone to help me. At that point the new consultant couldnt tell me anything about what was done, why it was done or anything else. She said she didnt know and the other consultant didnt have any notes. Awesome. (especially awesome since we found a warrantee issue and had something like 1,900 worth of warranty repair work done). Nearly every time I go to your service department they try to stick me for thousands (literally) in additional repairs or services. And I always get sort of an entitled attitude about it. They are all very nice, very knowledgeable, but I feel they must be getting forced, or trained, by their superiors to push additional services and costs to the customer. The last time I was there they wanted to charge me something like an 800% mark up for an OEM GM Part (it was a high markup, i dont remember the exact percentage now),i found the EXACT same OEM GM part for under 100.00 dollars. When I pressured the consultant on the cost and markup, he was full of attitude about how your shop is GM Certified and that's why, because I'm getting the best. I agreed on the cost of labor for that certification and level of expert care. But why the price of the markup on a part? That was met with more attitude. For this reason I would encourage anyone I know, and strangers to only do the absolute needful at the service center, and to find a reputable shop they trust for anything else. With that prior example, Mcgraths wanted well over 1,000 to repair my vehicle, I took it to another GM Certified mechanic and had the repairs done for around $250. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and all, but I've just had to many questionable experiences with the salesmen here as well as service consultants. Again, quality products, quality repairs, but I encourage people to do their homework and research before agreeing to anything the service consultant says. Because they will get you hard. And again, I do not want to lump everyone at this dealership into that category i've outlined. Perhaps I've just been lucky and had bad experiences.

I had a Great experience with the McGrath dealership purchasing my Ram 5500 dually . Codey my sales guy and Jenna and the rest of the financing team did a great job helping me get approved going above and beyond there work schedules . Guided me through the entire process and closed out the deal in just a few days. Thank you so much guys for making this happen , I will definitely send some referrals. Keep up the good work always !

I bought a 2020 Chevy equinox from here! Totally recommend them! Scott was amazing salesman and got the process going quick once my dad and I got there from Chicagoland area! Out of there in less than 2 hours. I love the vehicle and love how the treated us the moment we walked in! Very professional

They called *me* to schedule service for a recall, set time and day a week out, and when I got there after waiting ten minutes they told me they didn't have the part and tried to schedule again. No thanks my whole day was scrapped for this because I work third shift and how am I to believe they'll have the part next time it's scheduled? In the past they've done decent quality work at a premium price but I don't think I'll go back.

Since the first time I went in I have only worked with Tyler Hedtke, who is a service advisor there. He treats all of his customers with respect and takes time to go over your possible options so it doesn t destroy your wallet. I have seen it not just with me, but other customers as well, which is why he is the only Service Advisor I will work with.

All I needed was a license plate bracket because I was living out of state & they couldn t even order the correct one. I love out of town & had to make a special trip for this. Not convenient.

We bought a car from another McGrath location. Go to find out that the car we bought had issues with the A/C and power steering. When returning it to the same dealership to be looked at, and speaking to 3 different employees about the situation, they tested for the heat instead of A/C. Go to find out that the employees also side swiped the retaining wall inside of the service center. After the problem occured again, we took it to the Chevyland location because we didnt want to deal with the same technicians, and John the service manager helped us throughout everything. He got the car in, found the problem, and fixed it in less than 24 hours. John was very professional and helpful. Our family is very grateful for their help getting our new car back to us before our vacation!

They care about returning customers. They listen to what it is you are looking for and make it happen. Our truck had some iasues after we bought it, but they came to where we live (1.5 hours away), picked up the truck, took it to a Chevy dealer garage, fixed it and brought it back to us. I call that going the extra mile!! They also did a followup repair for us where they cane to Indianola to take care of it - even though they are in Cedar Rapids. Seriously, you don't just buy a mystery vehicle and then they leave you hanging. They stay involved and ensure you are happy with your purchase. We have now bought 3 vehicles from them due to this way of doing business.

Been going to McGrath Chevyland for years, bought three trucks from these guys if that tells you anything. The Service Reps and mechanics are outstanding not to mention the sales people. My expectations are always exceeded with helpful and knowledgeable people who have shown genuine concern for my satisfaction. Yes when you go to a dealership you're gonna pay a little more but in today's world you get what you pay for. I don't mind paying a little more for outstanding customer care. Definitely recommend McGrath Chevyland.

Terrible service. They told me there was no trace of a leak when my engine and garage floor were covered in oil after getting my oil changed by them. Brought my car to CR Toyota and they found the issue and fixed it and I was on my way home in less than 20 mins.
