They did a fantastic job on our truck in a very timely manner! Transmission went out on our 2017 chevy. He quoted us $8,000 and then quoted us $5,300 and had it done in 2 days. We really appreciated that they had a loaner vehicle we could use instead of having to rent a vehicle. I would definitely (praying I don't have to) go back there for service again. Thanks again for your great service.

This is a very trustworthy and transparent mechanic. They have been very open and honest about work that needs to be done right away and the work that can be put off until later.Their systems are also very simple and easy to use for booking and reviewing vehicle inspections and approving or denying that work that is listed.They are also very quick to respond via text message or phone call.Great shop!

Excellent service. Work done right everytime. Andy and his crew can fix your car!! They installed tires with ballast bags for balance and an alignment!! My vehicle drives better than before and drove good. Surpassed all of my expectations!!Would recommend Andy and his crew to all my friends and family!!Great job!!!

I love Andy and his employees. Front Sarah, the front desk gal to his techs, I know I m in good hands. Other places have tried to take advantage of me. Jiffy Lube told me I needed new brakes. That was 5 years ago. Then Discount Tires told me I needed to replace the sensors in my tires. Both times I took my car to Andy. Those other places lied to me. Andy and his team checked my car over and there was nothing wrong with my sensors or my brakes. This shop is extremely honest, upfront and professional! I will never take my car to another shop!

Contacted Andy about an issue with my wife s 2015 Chevy Cruse , setting a check engine light. Was contacted in a timely manner, spoke with Sarah on the phone and dropped her car off the same day. Was left with the understanding that they could use it as filler work and much to our surprise it was looked at and repaired the next day after receiving an estimate which we authorized to go ahead with. I highly recommend Andy and his Staff at Big Jim s Auto Repair to do your repairs to any of your vehicles. Was an extremely pleasant experience from start to finish and definitely will be back for future repair needs. Thanks for being in our community with an honest work ethic and fair pricing !

After driving over a large chunk of ice/snow, my vehicle was making a grinding and creaking sound. I put it off for a few days and let it sit in the garage, worried the repair was going to be expensive. My husband called to see if they could schedule us sometime in the next few days, but they were able to get it in immediately that afternoon. Andy had the issue diagnosed and fixed within 20 minutes and said it was free of charge since it was an easy fix that didn't require new parts. We are very grateful for Andy's time/expertise and would have happily paid to have us safely back on the road. There are few things I dread more than going to a repair shop, but we will definitely be bringing our vehicles back in the future if(when) they are in need of service!

Neither Andy or I had any idea the adventure we would undertake when I brought my F150 in for a check engine light. Several weeks and Ks later, my truck purrs like a kitten with a new (remanufactured) engine.Big Jim s motto should be you get what you pay for. If you want the cheapest or fastest solution, look elsewhere. If you want thorough, competent and ethical service, Andy is the man.

Big Jim's was an excellent place to go. I had been quoted at another shop for over $10,000 to fix it. Big Jim's took the car in and completed the work for less than $2000. Andy talked through what the issue was, how he came to the conclusion and what was fixed. He did a good job of making me not feel like an idiot while he talked to me. He identified what else they do for oil changes and costs as well as things that may be needed in the future. All around great place!! I left there and immediately handed out business cards and recommendations at my work office. Thank you to them!

Andy was fantastic if I could have kept my car there and have them do all the work , I would have. He also went out by checking on this car when the oil was changed and all the other services done on the car. In the future, I ll definitely bring any vehicle I might have to be serviced. One more tidbit from Andy he guided me to Billions lnatead of McGratha, thanks Andy also I ll be sending all my friends to Big Jim s

If you want to get your vehicle repaired right the first time, this is the place to take it. They also text you an estimate with detailed pictures and information about any issues that may need addressing, immediately or the near future and I feel like they have very reasonable prices.

Very thorough pre-service inspection. Recommended flushing the brake fluid along with fixing oil I brought it in for. Brakes pedal travel felt a little to much anyway, so told them to go ahead do it. Huge difference. Feel like did wh ed n the truck was new.

Full brake job with parts I purchased was completed in less then 5 hours, at a very good price. Great customer service, informative and friendly. I'll definitely be coming back!Edit: I came back due to the pitman arm breaking in my steering wheel. Super fast and effective work at a great price again! Was having problems finding any place to get some much needed repairs & maintenance done to both my 2008 Ford Explorer, and my 2014 Ford Escape.Fortunately I stopped into get a quote for the costs.I was thoroughly surprised when they told me they could do my Escape then!And I could actually pick it up before 5pm.The next day I brought my Explorer in to be done.Well done, Jim's!

Brought my truck in for having a check engine light on at 9am, Big Jim s charged me $213 to tell me all I needed was a gas cap not even an hour later. Big Jim s was to call me before any work was to take place to top it off, I will never bring my business here again.

This place is hands down amazing!! About 2 months ago I took my car in for an oil change. I asked them about replacing my brakes. Because at my previous oil change at jiffy lube on blairsferry road. I was told I needed my brakes replaced. My brakes had at least another 5 thousand miles before they needed to be replaced. Jiffy lied to me and tried to get me to replace my brakes way before they needed to be done. Andy and his tech told me I didn t need them replaced for a while. They changed my oil and had amazing customer service. I was super happy I found a honest mechanic. I just love them! This week I was heading out of town to Bettendorf, and my car started to make a funny noise. So I went to see Andy and his tech and Andy immediately knew what was wrong and fixed it on the spot and wished me a safe trip! I give them 10 stars for always being there for their clients and for not trying to get me to do anything unnecessary. Honest and hard working!

My steering wheel was shaking pretty bad when I got to higher speeds, took my 2007 toyota camry in to have an alignment done after I replaced a tie rod end. They told me my wheel bearing was bad. The one I replaced the summer before. Charged me $600 to replace a $180 part and 2 hours of labor. After the work was done the shaking was still there. Took it in for a tire change at another place a few weeks later and the shaking was gone afterwards.Response to owner: A steering wheel shaking can be caused by anything wrong with the wheels/tires assembly. This includes Bad break pads, uneven wear on rotors, low tire pressure, uneven tire wear, bad suspension and yes... a bad alignment, as that can even cause all the issues above. I don't recall you offering to replace the tires as this was 2 years ago. The fact that it took you 2 years to respond to my review shows how much you care about your customers. I will be staying far away from your shop and advise others to do so as well.I advise everyone to find any other mechanic, the one I currently have (which is shockingly a dealership) just did $800 of work to my diesel chevy I use for work. But before they did that, they told me what could be wrong with it and had me take it home to try a couple of lower cost fixes that could be the culprit first. Once I had done those fixes and the problem persisted, I took it back in. The problem was exactly what I thought it was. A bad oil pressure switch causing it to falsely read low oil pressure while stopped or at low speeds. Since they already had it up I had them change out the fuel pump and some tire pressure sensors as well. Could I have done it myself? Yes but I don't have the time being a full time business owner, and cant have that vehicle be down for repairs very long. If a mechanic treats me right I will treat them right. You did not treat me right. Insulting my knowledge of vehicles is just putting salt in a wound. If I could update my review to 0 stars I would.Service: Steering & suspension repair
