I take all of our vehicles here when I don't feel up for the task. They handled my irritations well when I spoke about the price of parts. Overall Al's has been great to me and my home fleet . Ty Al's for tolerating a grumpy customer like myself. Great work and customer service .

I have relied on Al s staff for well over a decade. They have 100% of my trust and confidence when I turn over my vehicles to them. Whether it s basic maintenance or a major mechanical issue, I am given a thorough account of the service with detailed information on all systems and general condition of my car. I m told what to plan for in the future. Their fees are more than reasonable and the staff is awesome.

The guys at Al's are great. They took awesome care of me and my car when I showed up in a panic and without an appointment. They texted me a full diagnostic report with a price quote and worked super fast to get me back on the road. Absolutely terrible. Scheduled for a quote, told mechanic what was wrong with my car, took an easy google search to figure it out. Dude took 6 hours to call me back and tell me it was exactly what I said it was. I told him I wanted nothing fixed after the outrages quote and he laughed and was very rude, he told me I d be charged a diagnostic then since I didn t want it fixed which was fine. I came to pick up and mechanic told me there was a wire he replaced and made it seem like he did it on the house. Which should of been the case as I requested nothing be serviced however I paid bill and see receipt.. $180.. I was charged for the wire and diagnostic!! I tried disputing with my bank and this establishment wrote back to my bank and said I just didn t want to pay like??? Scheduling guy didn t have a clue and mechanic was rude, and late to work. Even smoked a cigarette when he clocked in although I had been there waiting since it opened at 7:30. Also the wire that was fixed did not fix a thing lol even said I had trouble with my lights not working and he said I didn t even bother looking at the lights.. like ok dude what d u do for 6 hours. Terrible never go here especially as a woman. And dear owner. Save your response. I see you never taken any accountability in your review responses. Goes to show this place takes no accountability.. I couldn t believe they wrote back to my bank saying I didn t want to pay lol and I even called the establishment before contacting my bank and was told they d talk to mechanic and call me back. Al's Full Service was able to work on my vehicle when the only other option in town seemed to have been the dealership. I was told by another shop to see the dealership since it was going to involve more than they could handle. Checked with a friend and they recommended Al's Full Service. Al's was very busy but had time for me to come down to take a look. Due to a blizzard, I had to wait a few days for repairs but the day I took it in, they had it up and running within a couple of hours (needed a water pump in a Subaru). Al's got me back on the road in little time and I love their courtesy point inspection! Makes me feel safer knowing if there were other issues found, they would have mentioned it.Great staff! Friendly and knowledgeable. They not only tell you, but also show you the parts needing replaced and explain in great detail what's happening and what to expect. First off, Al's is one of the best shops in all of Cedar Rapids period. Gavin and Gary were excellent as always. This place barely has any turnover, so the same mechanics work on your car, which is huge for the health of your car. There is never any pressure, just straight honesty. They even send you a vehicle inspection via text message, and that's a fabulous service. I would highly recommend Al's if you've never been! They do a great job, give you an accurate time estimate when it ll be done, and most often get the work done sooner than predicted. When I called to make an appointment for a new tire after I got a flat, they were able to order the tire and get me in that same morning. They explain things well and talk you through how to find things (like your tire size ), without making you feeling like you re dumb, which I greatly appreciate as someone in their early 20s who was never taught anything about car maintenance. Their courtesy inspection is thorough, they are upfront about quotes and costs. When they explained the repairs and maintenance I should get, I didn t feel like they were pushing them on me right that minute and factually explained how long I could wait to do them as well as consequences for not.Service: Tires

1st of all, messed up my appointment with explanation on little detail.Then charged me $80 to just look under my truck and tell me my brake calipers are on the wrong side.Then to tell me they will correct the calipers (no parts at all) and bleed the brakes for $750. A good mechanic should be able to do that in a couple hours, so that adds up $130 to bleed brakes and $620 to swap brakes!! Seams way out of price to me!!

I have been going to Al s for over 35 years as well as my sister and parents. Which goes without saying I ve had just about everything done to my cars.Many friends I ve referred here are relieved to have such a reliable car repair business to take their cars to.They are a very kind, trustworthy group that explain what s going on and notify you of what to look out for down the road.I ve enjoyed the relationship I have with them.GREAT PLACE!

Have been taking my vehicles to Al's for years. If they find an issue, they tell me what it will cost before doing the work. They're also good about telling me what issues require more urgent care and those that can wait/I can plan for in the future.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

They got me in and out, I am from outta town and didnt know anything about them i need a new battery and new flitter, they explained everything to me and told me the price of everything, even before my car got there to see what was going on very polite if i am ever back in town and need my car worked on i will definitely be coming back. This place is best. Of all the places to get your vehicle serviced THIS place is by far the most reliable, dependable and honest you will ever encounter. Everyone from Gary to Gavin to Andy to Everyone else that works here is a top-notch person. These people work hard to gain your trust. They're open 7am to 7pm Monday through Friday. Limited times on Saturday. They will do everything within their power to not only tell you what if any problem you have but will show you what your problem is. They broke off my grill and just left it hanging on where is should be attached. They also wanted to charge me $269.00 to replace a $20.00 hood cable. The guy named Gavin who took my payment was more interested in me writing a review than explaining my repairs. Everyone is helpful, knowledgeable, and honest! Appointments are easy to schedule in a timely manner, and I've more than once shown up with a random car "noise" and they've diagnosed and started the fix on the spot!

What can I say about Al's Full Service? A lot! Very professional, they did a great job communicating everything that was going on and when I could expect to get my vehicle back.The pricing was very good for the work I had done and it was done in a timely matter and my vehicle is running way better than before.They made my nightmare less of a nightmare and more of a smooth nice dream.Nobody wants expensive vehicle repairs but I know I can trust the team at Al's Full Service if I need repairs at a competitive price.Generally cheaper than other places I've been or had been quoted.

Al's has always provided excellent service. Their entire staff and mechanics are professional and friendly. They have serviced my vehicles for 21 years. You won't find a better place for service and you can rest easy in knowing they are honest.Honesty means everything to me. We took my older parents car into them because of a leak from the car that we saw in their driveway, the car had not been services for over 3 years. I found them online and called and made an appointment. My husband I found them to be friendly and professional. They explained the would do an 32 point inspection of the car and went over every detail. I like the fact we received text message with their 32 point inspection and pictures of what needed to be replaced so I could show my parents what was going to be performed. we would recommend them to any body and are considering taking our cars to them in the future.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I heard about Al s Full Service through a friend and online. Recently my truck started leaking coolant from what I thought would be an expensive water pump replacement. The guys from Al s inspected my vehicle thoroughly and determined it was an old hose leading to the water pump. I appreciated the honesty and service throughout the process. 1st time customer. Mechanic took a ride with me to try and identify issue. He stated what he thought it was before we got back to the shop. Pulled it into a bay to verify and he was spot on. Repair was made with constant communication during process. Price was fair and employees were very responsive to my questions. Al s will be my go to from this time on.
