Cozy Retreat During Winter StormI recently stayed at a charming family-owned hotel in Brooklyn, Iowa, and it was a delightful experience. Despite the winter storm, my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally nice and accommodating. Their warmth and hospitality made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. It's evident that this hotel is run with a personal touch, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere. One highlight of my stay was the breakfast. The hotel provided a delicious and satisfying breakfast, adding to the overall positive experience. It's always a pleasure when a hotel goes the extra mile to offer a good start to the day.Given the winter storm/blizzard, I was impressed with how well the staff managed the situation. It's reassuring when a hotel is well-prepared for the bad weather conditions, ensuring the safety and comfort of its guests.I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming retreat, especially during challenging weather conditions.Noteworthy details: Pet friendly

We stayed there about a week ago when we had a flat tire on the interstate. Staff was very helpful. They even gave us recommendations on where to take our car to get fixed! The beds were comfy and the place had a real nice Home-Like feeling about it. It is obvious the employees really care about the place. We will definitely be back!

We would stay again at this hidden gem in Iowa.We (family of 5 with 3 children) stopped here on a cross-country road trip. To start, the staff was friendly and accommodating. They didn't even crack a smile when operator error had us unable to work our television. The room was huge, the bed was comfortable (a sleep number adjustable bed), the bathroom was a great size, there was actual water pressure, and it was clean. The rooms are a bit "dated," but the beds were comfortable and clean. It felt like it was owned by family, and we were staying in their house. Breakfast in the morning was quaint, something like what mom might make on a school day. Hot sausages, boiled eggs, cereal and milk, toast and bagels, and orange juice. We felt it was a great hidden gem we found halfway between big cities. There is a Denny's on this exit, a short drive away. There is a Pilot gas station with a Subway sandwich shop inside in the same parking lot. There were a few more things a few miles away, but we didn't need to go there. There is no pool, but our kids loved having space in the room to spread out, color, and play with toys. There was a roku on the television, so we could sign into our accounts to watch basically anything we wanted, but there was also satellite television, so we could watch the news or anything else. The ice machine also made the coolest shaped ice cubes I have ever seen.

We ran into an unexpected snow storm that came through so we decided to stop at the Pleasant Inn and Suites there in Brooklyn, IA on Christmas night. We got a great deal on our rooms and I have to admit the gentleman that was at the front desk was the kindest and most welcoming. Nice clean rooms with good basic amenities. He even offered us some food for the night if we were hungry, unfortunately I could eat spicy stuff, but was still the sweetest gesture!!! If we ever are back in that area again we will definitely stop there again. Thank you Pleasant Stay for being a great place to stay!!!

It was an exceptional hotel. Something to write home about. Was clean, floors were freshly steam cleaned. Renovations and a paint job looked amazing, and the room works if you need a place to hang your hat for a night. I would recommend and extended stay. Amenities were just what I needed. Comfy bed in room. Breakfast consisted of hash browns and cereal with milk put in a pitcher on ice. The lady at the front desk cared much for doing her job and gushed about getting to do her job. Price was entirely too perfect for basically just a room with a bed.

Stayed one night while traveling along I-80. The first room was dirty and there appeared to be blood on the toilet seat. Bobby at the front desk was the best part of our stay. He immediately changed our room, as there was no staff available to clean. The second room was not vacuumed and had dust and nail clippings on the floor. Bobby was again very accommodating and had us move to a third room. The third room still was not very clean, but was better than the first two. After an uneasy night of sleep, while checking out the next morning, the female front desk employee was very rude and yelled at me when I could not hear her. For only staying one night, I didn't need anything fancy, but this was not a pleasant stay.

We stayed 4 nights for a mini family reunion. The owner is on site and is most accommodating as is his staff. Nice people. Wether your staying for awhile or just overnight, I believe you ll be pleased with the facilities and accommodations.Food & drinks: The breakfast and coffee were good at the Inn. For lunch or dinner there is a Subway and Denny s next door. 5 miles away Brooklyn s Classic Deli on Main Street is delicious. (Take Old 6 for a beautiful drive). While in Brooklyn also check out the Pi Keller Memorial, the Museum, and the *John Wayne Memorial which are up the street from the Deli * The John Wayne Memorial is a couple miles South on the same street, East side).

My wife and I ended up staying as guests unexpectedly as the holiday weather had other plans for us. We were quite pleased with this hotel that is kind of in the middle of nowhere by itself. Facilities were clean and comfortable. Joanna - the gal at the front desk was great to deal with especially when this was not a planned stop for us. Great place to end up overnight!

I recently stayed at the Pleasant Stay Inn and unfortunately had the misfortune of getting into a car accident during my stay. However, the staff at the hotel were incredibly kind and helpful during this difficult time. They offered to call a tow truck for my damaged car and even gave me a ride when i needed it. The room was clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was a welcome respite after the stress of the accident. Overall, I was extremely grateful for the excellent service and care provided by the staff.

Comfy and cozy. Overall a pleasant stay! I had a king room, the room was a bit small but it had all the basics. Newer fridge, microwave, and climate control. The linens were clean and had a fresh laundry soap smell. This was such a breath of fresh air compared to the harsh bleach smell so common in hotels! Staff was very friendly and helpful, even the night time staff with my late check in. The room had a nice sized shower stall, but no bathtub. Not a problem for me, but just a note for others.

Everything was very clean and fresh for that instant wow factor when you walk in. The room was a decent size, and the shower was fantastic! Water pressure 10/10. Front desk staff was friendly, knowledgeable of the area and very willing to go the extra mile to make sure we felt at home. They have a guest laundry also which is super convenient if you're on any sort of long haul trip. Really great value for your $$, will stay again next time I'm in the area!

Location was great right off the interstate which worked great for closed interstate during bad weather. The bed was uncomfortable (found out in the morning it was a sleep number bed, remote in the drawer but no sign stating this fact) Close to truck stop for food but no sit down place to eat. All in all ok for emergency stop but not something I would reserve for a stay.
