Today November 8th 2023Called 2 days in advance to have a heavy wrecker undeck a lowboy semi trailer from a flatbed. Driver arrived with my trailer. Wrecker was 500 yards from the truck shop. I called the owner/woman and said we are ready to have trailer unloaded. I asked " so how much is your wrecker? She paused, knowing I was going to have the trailer unloaded. She stated "600.00" thinking she had me over a barrel.This would take a hour I stated " lady I can have a rotator do this at 250.00 a hour!!I left the area toward des moines to have the trailer unloaded cost me (250.00. MID- IOWA TOWING OUT OF ALTOONA..THE BEST!!)BEWARE OF LONE STAR THESE CON ARTISTS. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM..YOU WILL GET SCREWED!!Today's date Nov 14th just read your reply. Your a liar. You told me 600.00 and told me(THATS THE PRICE if you want it done!)I went elsewhere got it done for fair and reasonable 250.00Con Artist trying to save face. Treat people the way you would want to be treated lady.

I came in on 1/15/24 when the temperature was below 0� to have my fuel filters replaced. They were able to get me in quickly and got them replaced fast. It took my company longer to get them paid than it took to replace my filters. This was the only place that was able to get me in quickly in the area. TA was backed up a day and a half. The staff were very friendly and were happy to love up on my dog.

Horrible place. The woman behind counter is a very rude person. Don t know how to treat people with respect. Treated me and my company like garbage. They had me stranded for 3 days. I understand it was heck of a week and tow banned. But this truck was priority. Be truthful to your words. They lied to the police officer saying truck was gonna be taken to a shop for repair. It didn t happened. My company had to search another vendor. Thanks to Central Iowa Towing and Recovery. For a quick response. Don t waste your time or money here.

Dose gays are not professionals the only thing they do well charging you the bill I towed my truck with them and they put me in horrible situations the gay twin the truck drop me at dealer he took some parts from my truck supposed to be returned after he finished and when I called them no one is taking care of what happened

I had a disappointing experience with Lone Star Towing service. The staff was consistently rude and disrespectful throughout the interaction, making the situation more unpleasant than it needed to be. Their customer service fell short of expectations, leaving me dissatisfied with the overall service provided.

Great service! Called satarday morning with a frozen airline. They came out within an hour fixed it fast and the carge was more than reasonable! Much appreciated!

Fantastic people, had to wait for parts but it was same day, took all day between waiting for parts and the guys had calls to respond to, I was in a safe place and they responded to breakdowns on the roadway that weren't in a safe place. Very good experience. If you have to break down it's always a good deal to have good people helping you out.

They got what we needed and installed our tire very quickly. Even picked up my husband from the hotel to the tire shop once our vehicle was ready. Many reviews complained about the lady that answers the phone but she is not rude just straight forward and to the point. Pricing was fair, I had purchased new tires fairly recently and had the chance to shop around, there price was actually lower than what we paid in California. Highly recommend, thank you for all your help.

I was gouged.$400 / hr for skid loader work with an extra (unnecessary) man and she padded the billed hours at least 20%So it was more like $500 / hr for time spent.The guys were fairly easy to work with.Next time, if there is one in this area, I ll shop somewhere else.

They hung up the phone while taking the order and never answered back. The lady over the phone was eating and chewing food, was barely able to talk. That's not a way to provide any kind of services, terrible, no comment.

I was 70 something miles away from Des Moines headed west & one of my drive tires blew & I pulled over just passed an exit & I instantly became upset I thought it wasn t going to be a tire shop coming up until Des Moines or several miles from there, looked on Google Maps & found this place & a couple others who weren t too far away & luckily the exit I was at was only a couple miles away from this place at the next exit, but I couldn t continue driving because the tire was too messed up, I called, gave details & thought it was going to be the usual 2-3 hour wait, because usually shops tell you how long it's going to be before they send out a mechanic, especially when tire shops are out on other road calls, so the mechanic came in about a half hour, changed the tire in about 20-30 minutes & I was back rolling again, definitely would recommend this place.

My girlfriends tire blew up 1 mile from the shop. They did tow us and fixed the tire the next day. However the 1 mile tow and new tire cost $450 not to mention rude customer service. The price seems a bit outrageous and seemed to take advantage of our situation.

ATTENTION ALL OTR DRIVERS!! Unless you want to pay out your entire paycheck to have a few tires aired up. STAY AWAY!! This place will gouge you!! They do not care about drivers! Only their selves. Do not go to this place. There is a shop across the street. Called Interstate Truck Repair. $80 just to air up our trailer tire. Drivers beware!!!

Tech came in on a Saturday win the shop is normally closed. Replaced two tires quick and the price was very reasonable.

Got a flat tire within a mile of this place, and paid over $450 for 1 new tire and a tow. The woman at the front desk had the worst attitude I ve ever had to deal with. They took advantage of me and I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone.

Waited on side of road for 2 hours. When I called and asked if they were coming she was confrontational and rude. Stated it was Sunday and they were having dinner!If you own a 24 hour business and you are on call then that's part of the job.Guy was decent and fast when he showed up.Pick somewhere else- this lady doesn't need or care about your business.The "Lone Star" is not the name but their service rating.

Blowed a coolant hose on my semi, called, they dispatched help immediately.... Jordan was very professional, friendly got right to work fixing, had me back on road very quickly !!! I'll use them again !! Thank you Jordan and rest of the crew !!!!! Very reasonable rate

The guy who helped us was really nice and explained what he noticed in the tire. He also didn't try and too us off like the place we tried before him did. However the "lady" who works there that came in the shop while our tire as being worked on was completely rude and should have her nasty attitude checked at the door. The guy fixed the tier at a reasonable rate and even with the rude woman, I would go back there if I needed to.

Brought my truck there for air leak they diagnosed wrongfully, wanted to charge 3k+,to change air compresser, when that was not the issue, the purge values needed cleaning.Please Say away they're dishonest people customer service sucks.....Go to TA for servicing

Charge us $786 for 3 used tires on a international straight truck, I could have got 3 new for about $100 more at any respectable business. If you're far from home you'll more than likely get screwed. I would give them no stars but it won't let me so I give them 1 lone star.

Look out for these people. Be sure to ask the price up front if you want to take a chance on them. They did not advise that they charge $600 per hour for a tow truck until after the fact. They drove 15 miles, winched a truck about five feet to get it off the ice and charged $600. A total ripoff? It would be zero stars if that was an option.

Total rip off I was charged $216 for replacing a fuel filter on my semi truck and I provided the filter a 3 minute job How can this people get away with this type of stuff. They don t tell you the price at front then they charge whatever they want I am reporting this place for sure thieves... I suggest everyone that feels that this people have taken advantage of do the same.

If I could give this place zero stars I would, while moving from Illinois to Nebraska, my sisters car had a tire go flat, so we stopped and put the donut on and called these guys to see if they were open, due to it being Memorial day weekend. (Google said they are open 24/7 but we still wanted to check) The lady who answered said they could call someone out but it would be 75 dollars for someone to look at the tire and if it needed replaced they couldnt do it due to it being a low profile tire. We called around with most places being closed. We called and told them we would meet them there in a while. So we drove the 20 minutes to this place and then sat and waited for 15 minutes before we finally called and asked how far out he was. This lady then informs us that she sent the guy out on another service call because he couldnt find us. When asked why they didnt call us to see where we were the lady said well arent you a mouthy one and hung up. We ended up calling a tow truck to pick up the car and tow it. This lady was entirely rude and unprofessional and wasted over an hour and a half when we could have called Shepards towing in the first place and been back on the road within an hour. Avoid this place like the plague.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. not only are they incompetent, the on call guy on Saturday spoke like a down syndromed version of boomhauer from king of the hill. After struggling to understand this person for 5 minutes I told him I was walking .9 miles to to the lone star shop with my blown tire in hand and that I needed a tire I proceeded to wait for at least an hour. I call him again he then says well I need 50 dollars to come down to the shop then we will see what you need for the car. Wich I had already told him the size So this person waisted 2 hours of a customers time then said he needed to be paid by the customer to do what he is paid by his employer to do. Scum of the earth

I needed to get fixed and a DOT and they stayed passed closing time and got me in and out in about 30 min I give these guys 5 star. They were very polite and wanted my business, it was the best experience I have ever had in a shop.
