Stopped by on 7/26 just to get a few things. Only had one person selling parts. Waited a while and decided the hell with this place, after seeing other employees standing around. I'm pretty sure if employees can watch people waiting for service, you should probably step up and help.

This place is a joke. Service gets worse every time I do business with them. Save yourself time, money and your sanity, go to MHC Kenworth. My most recent visit I spent almost two hours just waiting for the paperwork to be completed so I could pick the truck up.

Nice new Peterbilt location! Large parking area for trucks to park and set their trailer for service. Great staff inside, Zack at the parts counter was very helpful. Two oddities here though. For some reason, the entrance laneway is fairly narrow so watch your trailer coming in. Also, if you're getting parts and drive your truck to pick them up, the lined parking spots for trucks are quite a walk if you've gotten something heavy or bulky. You can't drive your truck into the area north of the building to the parts entrance. I had to get window glass for my truck, and the box it came in was fairly large. Being able to get closer to the parts entrance would have been convenient. Other than that, great location, and a vast improvement from the old location in Altoona.

The service department is a joke. Would give 0 stars if it was an option. Had an appointment for an alignment only to get turned away because they didn't have a tech available to do it. Glad I drove over an hour for nothing.

My Peterbilt was heading south on 35 and the check engine light came on , right away I called Peterbilt and Greg and Service answered the phone, told him what was going on and that my driver will be there in 20 min. This was at about 830 at night. Greg is awesome - thank you so much again for everything. Getting my truck back on the road and running again. Keep up the good work.

i was in in september "22" 6 months ago . got a transmission & clutch replaced . I have 5 trucks and have "never" paid more than 7000 - 9000 for the job they charged me $17,900.00 it was a 20918 trans , water cooled YOU WOULD THINK THE WATER COOLER CAME WITH THE EXHORBANT PRICE. or they would at least ask if i wanted one...6 months down the road i have my trans overflowed with anti-freeze which ruins all the bearings in the trans. i dont suppose i will ever know if the internal water cooler leaked because of wear or their poor installation. Irregardless they refuse to honor any kind of warranty ontop of all that they took longer than they said to complete the repair. I paid for top shelf parts and labor and got SUBSTANDARD labor & service Nice shop , poor service and business ethic.i will fire the next one of my drivers that brings me ANY KIND of reciept from this store.

First off, I called and was on hold 20 minutes for the parts counter. Whomever did answer was polite and helpful. But then when I went in to get my part-There were 2 people working and only one customer. They were too busy bull shtting to help me. So I waited and waited.

Here's an idea. Hire someone over the age of 25 who takes some pride in their work ability. Aft er getting the wrong parts after too many times I'm done. If you worked for my business you would be fired.

Don t take anything to them for repairs and expect them to be done in a timely manner. They have had our truck for two weeks and have done nothing but give us the run around the entire time, they haven t even looked at it! It s warranty work and we run a single truck operation so it s not their priority to help us, meanwhile we re losing thousands a week while our truck sits. I just don t understand how people can run a business with a clean conscience while lying and putting small companies out of business. I m only giving one star because I have to give them something for my review to post.

If you want to lose money, time and productivity this is the place for you. Constantly have to bring a vehicle back multiple times for a single issue. Currently have to bring it back a fourth time when have the shop space. The previous issue with this truck I had to bring it back three times for them to finally get it correct Spend your money elsewhere.

Had to wait over 3 1/2 hours before they even started to diagnose my truck. I've never had it take no more than an hour to start and by 2 hours would have an idea of what's wrong at other Peterbilt shops. Employees are very nice and knowledgeable, just not operated in a productive manner.

I have 2 dogs so they won't allow us to go in the building and we can't stay in the truck. With temperatures close to 90 and humidity even higher, I took the dogs to sit under a trailer. When they finished the truck, they never called me or came out to get me. After baking in the sun for over 3 hours I said screw it, I was putting the dogs in the truck so they could have some water. Turns out the truck wasn't in the shop but instead sitting outside because it's finished. I used one of my spare keys to start the truck so the dogs could get ac and cool down. Had to wait another 20 minutes for someone to come to the service desk to just give me my freaking key and tell me it was done. Worst Peterbilt I've ever been to.

I worked for peterbilt and I thought at first it would be a great place to work but now not so much some people there are awesome but then you have some that are very deceiving and when problems arise they aren't cared for the way they should be. I had something happen to me there and was very uncomfortable Coming to work.etc don't work there if you are a women!!! . After I quit I found out from a friend that they sat there saying negative things about me when I was good to them I'm moving on to a better place now my kindness and hard work will be someplace else

Rick is an awesome service manager. Got my truck in asap and got it fixed. Price was very reasonable. Even pointed out a few motels and places to eat while I was there. If you stop in look for Rick and he will get you taken care of.

I went in to pickup a part. They did not have what I needed. But, they were able to tell me what dealer, along my route, did have it in stock.

I was going to bite my tongue on this but, if your business wants the customer to wear a mask, you best make sure the guys working behind the counters have them too. I got told I had to wear one to be helped but watched four guys talk in a circle with out them. So I dont get making customers wear them, and at this point are masks even worth it anymore?Edit to this. After putting the mask on i had to keep pulling it down away from my face because the parts guy couldn't hear what I was saying.

I recently blew my turbo west of Des Moines I called there and they wouldn't order it until I ran them a check at 10:00 that night. So I got a ride there and paid them They ordered it and said it would be there on Friday morning.Friday came and the turbo was there but they ordered the wrong one.I did get some parts there and they said they would refund me my money back but I wouldn't get it for7-10days.in the mean time we found a turbo somewhere else .Most of the people were really nice but overall not a good experience.

I've been doing business with these guys for yrs, parts prices can be a kick in nuggets, but that's a big truck Peterbilt thing. But I trust the guys I know there, Rick,Travis and others, they have helped me like I was family. Good insight and guidance. Thank you all and have Merry Christmas

I am over the road for the past four and half years. I was on my way from Washington to Virginia, while driving through Des Moins I had all engine related warning lights on in my Pete 384 Paccar with 570000 miles on it ( Diamond xpress), Well bad news got worse when I found that my oil cooler packed up. The coolant reservoir filled with oil. I had to tow my truck to this location. They took three days to get it in because of the load they already had and weekend.Well, once my truck was in the shop from that moment onwards they were the most professional and nice people I have ever met over the road. They took their time but worked impressively hard to my satisfaction. They will always pick your call and will update you about your machine to your satisfaction no matter how long that takes. Will not let you go unless they feel that the job is done.Their techs are knowledgeable and excellent combination of man and machine.Very nice place to be in if the bad luck hits your truck.Thank you Peterbilt of Des Moines.

Awesome bunch of guys to work with, had a truck shred both his alternator belts after 11PM he was close to this Peterbilt and they close at 11:30. Elton the parts guy and Steve the service guy stayed and helped him get his belts back on and back on the road. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. We will be doing business with them again.

Took truck to shop with laundry list of things to do. Got the truck done and parked it on lot over weekend. Some jackass stole a valve and cut the abs harness from under the truck. They claim they are not responsible for the fix that need to get the truck moving. Has taken them over 24 hours to get fixed after receiving the parts. Never bringing truck back to this shopEdit: To the owners reply. We are beyond dissatisfied. We got charged 3 times more than we should have and came home with more problems when we went up there with. You make the name peterbilt look extremely bad.

Had a truck break U boots on rear drive axle on a 2 lane Iowa road at 11pm. Called mobile mechanic said no parts places open that time of night. Mechanic called first thing next morning, ordered parts, and told the parts guy the situation. 4.5 hours later the parts arrived from 85 miles away. They were put in a regular scheduled parts run truck. I guess at Peterbilt of Des Moines a truck broke down on a 2 lane road means no sense of urgency and we won t go out of our way to try and get you rolling.I ll make sure to let everyone I know about my experience
