I took my young sons here to buy a kids electric bike. Man was this a cool experience! He saw this bike several months before he bought it and never forgot about it. He saved his money and went back. The sales team treated him as though he just bought a nice new Harley bike (he did buy a bike, and it did say Harley with the right colors). He rang the bell, there was a cheer and meant smiles. He left the store as a young rider! Thanks Zylstra!

Always a great experience here! Bought my first Harley a year ago. Service Dept takes great care of it, and they are timley on responding to my questions as a first-time HD owner. The inside sales went so far last weekend as to help me find a perfect fit helmet, trying on a large number of different styles and sizes. I got to meet the owners awhile back and they are really kind and humble people. I'd recommend ZHD to anyone!

I ve had a great experience purchasing my bike at Zylstra. Their team was friendly and very knowledgeable about HD bikes. Test road a couple of different bikes prior to purchasing the one that suited my needs best. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a smooth fun buying experience. Randy and his crew were amazing. Been looking for a FatBoy in reef blue for a while. A good friend happened to be riding buddies with Randy and passed me to him. Randy sent me over to John and Rob to complete the process. Everyone was super nice and accommodating to the accessories I wanted on it before leaving. Cory was even able to get my lights and grips installed before we made the trip back to Florida. I highly recommend these guys, they know their stuff!

Zylstra HD is the place to go to! I was traveling through Ames and had issues with my turn signals. I saw this as a safety concern and I called every HD I could find..everyone laughed when I asked to be seen today.Zylstra was different. Scott said they understood and come in as soon as I could. They said there may be a wait which I totally understood. When I got there, Brett helped me by getting me in, and talking me through what they figured out. He also mentioned my clutch was dragging, which I had noticed. They gave me a very fair price for everything. The tech Derek Got me in and out within two hours of being there. Very professional and skilled team who care about fellow riders.Top class gentleman! Thank you again! You've made a lifelong customer!!

Let s Talk about the Service Department,Kevin and Scott absolutely go the extra mile! My experience here has been nothing but exceptional!! I have bought parts here in the past but have never had service work done here till now. Definitely a customer for life! Thank you guys for all the help! These people are trash! I called in the morning asking about a used Fatboy. I told the lady that I would be driving an 1.5 hrs. She assured me that the bike was available. The second I walked in it had a huge SOLD sign on it. The sales guy proceeded to tell me that he was sorry, but was I interested in something else. Bait and switch. Trash.

We had an issue with a Harley Trike as we traveled thro Minnesota and Iowa. Bike was running really bad. Called a couple dealers in towns we passed thro but they were all 3 weeks until we could get it in.UNTIL we called Zylstra Harley in Ames, Iowa. We called, explain we were travelling and had an isssue. He said bring it in in the morning. They took it right in. A couple hours later we came back and it s fixed!This dealer ship has great service. They care about the customer. This is the BEST Harley dealer we have found in a long time.Thank you again for the great service.

Amazing staff, went in with 3 kids and was able to shop with the lovely attention from the staff to our children! Great selection of apparel for all ages and styles! Great Christmas deals too!! Loved our trip in as always!

I usually don't leave negative reviews, but after I see a business pattern I feel obligated to warn others. A few years ago I brought my bike in for rear tire replacement. It took them two days and they asked me to borrow a socket (custom rear fender, but a socket is a socket). Should be a red flag. In all fairness, they offered a free bike wash (which I declined pointing out they already lost money). Since then I just bring in the tire and rim, but now however, their policy changed and will only mount tire bought through them. Fair enough, I can take a hint; took business elsewhere.

Went there for the first time ever last weekend, 06/26. Was instantly greeted by some of the most amazing staff I have ever come across!! the enthusiasm at this dealership is second to none! From the service staff to the sales staff, and management, this is a first class dealership that deserves to sell this iconic motorcycle! I will definitely return to this place in the future, probably buying my next motorcycle here!! Thanks Zylstra for the amazing experience!

I love this dealership! We've bought a few bikes here. Management is good, most of the staff is great! Friendly and very helpful, Allison will always take the time out to go the extra mile for any customer. They make you feel welcome. Would recommend the service department too, Scott is great back there! If there's ever an issue they do remedy the problem and care about their customers.

I had a very positive experience here! Wyatt was very prompt in finding a bike that fit me and my style. When I'm ready to add another bike the garage I will be back! They also have a great selection of gear and accessories

Great folks working here. The young lady that helped me was personable, polite, knowledgable, and gave me a fair bit of her time, although I didn't wind up making a purchase. The location is good, on east 13th st. and the parking is adequate. The only reason for not giving a 5th star is that they didn't even have the bike I wanted in stock.

I found Zylstra in Ames on accident when searching for a new bike. I am from MN, there are plenty of dealerships closer to me that I could have purchased from but from day 1 Zylstra took great care of me! When inquiring about the 2020 Street Glide Jeff sent me a personalized video of the bike inviting me to come in & check it out, from the text messages and phone calls I never felt like I was just another customer, It wasn't just about the sale. They were more concerned with building a relationship and making sure my buying experience was top notch! When picking up my bike I had the opportunity to meet with the Parts guys, Service department & the finance manager. I had great conversation and experience with all of them! Zylstra Harley in Ames IA might not be the biggest nor the most fancy Harley Dealership around but I assure you they compete with the best of them when it comes to customer service & experience when purchasing a bike! I am happy I made the 8 hour round trip drive to purchase my 2020 Street Glide Special from the Guys & Girls in Ames Iowa!

Had my bike in for service, Scott and the department were great! Had me up and going in no time, he called to give me updates throughout the entire repair process. And the tech, Bryce,did great work! They even made it look new again after the service was done. All in all a 10/10. I wouldnt take my bike anywhere else!

What can I say? From the boardroom to the bathroom I've had nothing but a great experience from sales to finance, from parts and service, to the clothing racks and beyond! Always been treated with dignity and the utmost respect. Quality workmanship and a caring attitude. The entire team has been like family (maybe even better!)!
