I took my car for a break fluid change and I am very happy with the service that I got. Alexis and Kevin were very attentive and helpful; Kevin explained how I can take benefit of the offers they have, and Alexis brought me my car's air filters so that I see they are clean and in good shape. They have a good team of mechanics as well. 5/5

Met Stacy fir the first time. She was a delight!! Great smile with a sense of humor. Took care of my tire service within minutes. She has my business. I just move to ames a couple of years ago and was looking for a place with great service and friendly. This location in Ames, Iowa on Lincoln way has earned my loyalty. Great experience!!

Midas in Ames (off of Lincoln Way) is an hidden gem, and I m so glad I brought my car to them! Earlier today, I made a last minute appointment online to get my oil changed, and I was contacted right away to get a time set up over the phone! The entire process was smooth, quick, and easy. My experience at Midas was honestly one of the best auto care experiences I have ever had (and let me tell you, I ve had my fair share). Kevin, the manager at Midas in Ames, IA, was so delightful and his customer service was phenomenal! He was so kind and attentive to everyone that walked through the door. He talked with me about what issues were found with my car and explained the price breakdown to me, pointing out the associated costs very clearly. The mechanics were swift and very efficient with my oil change. It was such a speedy process, I was almost shocked! Overall, I had a wonderful experience working with Kevin and the entire Midas staff today. Not to mention, Kevin gave me a free pen out of the kindness of his heart just because I had said I loved it! Such a great person! Definitely check them out if you are in search of a trustworthy, genuine auto care center

Kevin and his team saved the day. We got a flat tire while driving through the area. We were on a major time crunch and were in a bad place if we didn t make it to our next destination. The Midas team worked diligently to get us back on the road. In a matter 45 minutes we were patched up, well taken care of, and at an awesome price. Thank you for saving our day and getting us back on the road.

Kevin and his team are wonderful! I had a really scary rattle coming from under my Jeep, they looked at it and found a loose bolt on the skid plate. They tightened the bolt and sent me on my way with no charge. It was such a relief that it wasn t something terrible and costly, they have earned my trust and I will definitely be back. Thank you all!!!

Great service! Kevin in particular was very knowledgable and helpful, prices were very reasonable, and it was a quick turnaround time. My car had some unforeseen issues that arose while getting service, but it was handled very professionally and quickly, and I was kept in the loop while everything was taking place. I will be returning to the Ames Midas!

Been going here for 3 years. First year I didn't have time to do an oil change in my jeep, so I dropped it off and came back 6 hours later and they didn't even start... 2nd was last year. I needed new brakes and nobody else could get me in that day. I went and they said the lock nut I provided didn't match the one in my car. (probably mistake from the tire shop) They told me they could just bust it off, I could buy a new nut from them for $2 each. I said fine... They gouged my rim with an air hammer.Last time was 2 days ago. Every place was booked, all I needed was tires put on rims, nothing else. They refused to do it because I had a Tesla now. They are just tires, brought my own, and jack pucks for the lift.I'm fine with waiting as long as I never see them again.

Visiting my boys. Used a friend's car and it needed oil change. I tell you I love down to earth people. Regular conversation with good people while I waited i was in and out in no time. Good people and good service still exist

Kevin was great. I was concerned about my oil level light continuously coming on just weeks after changing my oil. Kevin looked at the car and devised a plan to figure out what was happening since he couldn t find evidence of a leak but saw that the levels were low. He changed the oil for free and told me to return in 1,000 miles so he could check the levels again. Thanks a bunch, Kevin!

I would definitely think twice about taking your vehicle to the Midas location in Ames Iowa. I went in for a brake job was quoted a price and when I went to pick it up, they charged me $150 more than the quoted price .even after a discount. Also, I had an extra 350 miles on my odometer and half a tank of gas used up! Unless you want your vehicle to be used by people that you don t know what they re doing with it or where they re taking it to, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere! The mentality that they could do this and think it was OK is beyond what a sane person can even comprehend. Overcharged me, use my car without my permission, used my gas, put 350 more miles on my car and then charge me $150 more than I even approved based on their quote. Highly suggest taking this review seriously because it s the truth!

Team is friendly but after getting my rotors and pads changed I searched the part number of the parts they installed and found out they charge me 150$ more than Hyundai would've sold to me. I could've bought the pads for 300$ each but they charged me 450 for each. I will NOT return.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! From the first phone call to the end of my service, every individual I worked with had excellent customer service. I had to go get parts from Toyota (who were less than helpful...big contrast!) but Midas was willing to help me understand what was needed and then install the part. I was able to make a same-day appointment and then walk-in for more help later in the afternoon. The waiting area is cool, quiet and comfortable. The receptionist, manager, and technicians worked as a team to get me back on the road!

I came in for an inspection and an oil change and was met with speedy and I efficient service for my vehicle from the crew. I especially appreciate the excellent customer service I received from a Midas employee by the name of Turner. I ve recently moved to Ames, IA from Syracuse, NY and was nervous to find a go-to car repair spot for all of my auto needs, but Turner and the amazing crew at Midas expelled my worries. This auto repair shop will be the only place I bring my car in for service. Thank you, to Turner and the Ames Midas Crew for taking good care of me and my vehicle.

Took forever to finally get a possible transmission installed. Turns out it was a 120k mile transmission for over $4.5k, so had it towed to omaha from here and got a brand new transmission with warranty for 2k less including the tow.

Went in for low tire pressure. Couldn't find a working pump in gas stations or couldn't get it to work in this cold weather. They helped me quickly. No charge. Very friendly. Much appreciated.

Very awesome place to get auto repair done!!! Greatest experience Nathan,Kevin, Stacey are the greatest people better than a slice of bread also very professional I would highly recommend them for auto repairs
