My Alfa Romeo was hit in a parking lot and the Don and Sons team not only fixed it perfectly to the point you can t tell it was in an accident, they also helped me pressure the insurance company of the at fault driver to pay the entire bill, which they were trying not to pay for the added details that made the repair so good. All in all, they made this a great experience.Some time later, my wife s car was rear ended and they did the same for her, fixed it great and insurance paid for everything, but I wasn t totally happy with the paint texture. They took it back in the shop without question and redelivered it to me the next day looking exactly like I hoped. Really appreciate when I am heard and get the quality my cars deserve, I will not go anywhere else for body/paint.Service: Body & Trim

Higher my recommend these guys save our bacon. Just got into a car accident and when we were passing through from out of town. We needed to get the car looked at to see if where still road worthy and where to find a mechanic last minute to fix last minute mechanical damages.Within 30 minutes Tom had us road worthy and on our way to a trustworthy mechanic.

Outstanding experience all around with Don and sons! Throughout the entire process they communicated well and got everything done early even! Would not hesitate to recommend anyone to this body shop.They also handled insurance perfectly, I didn't have to worry about a thing!

Accident with the car and had it towed to Don & Sons. While the insurance company's process was painful (took me 8 days to get the car towed there), Don & Sons was professional, PROMPT, and very courteous. They evaluated the car and reported to the insurance company that very day. They also gave me an idea of the next steps in the insurance process so I was ready for it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I took my car to Don & Sons after a delivery truck backed into my car while it was sitting in the parking lot at work. They were able to schedule my repairs within a week and the repair and paint job was done in 5 days. My car looks as good as it did when it was brand new! The staff was very courteous and professional and they even did an auto detailing job on my car. I highly recommend Don & Sons for any type of auto paint repair work.Service: Paint repair

Excellent service from start to finish. After my accident, I called the insurance company, and told them that Don and Sons had been recommended to me. They sent the info to Don and Sons and the rental car place. Don and Sons called me to find out when I could bring the car in to have the estimate done. When the estimator looked it over, he wrote up the estimate and let me know that it would take about a week and that there would likely be more costs once they got the hood and bumper off so they could see the inner damage.When I took the car in for the repair, I was able to pick up the rental at Don and Sons! When it became apparent that the repairs would take a few days longer than originally planned, Don and Sons called to let me know exactly how long it would be. I was able to pick up my car and drop off the rental at Don and Sons.The repair work was completed in a timely manner, the crew was very friendly and efficient, and the car is just beautiful! I think they must have had to paint the whole car to match the color. And the inside looked and smelled brand new! Fantastic job Don and Sons! If anyone asks me for a body shop, you guys will be my recommendation. Thank you all so much!

We had some major hail damage on our truck. My father had taken great care of the truck and it looked great until the hail hit. We never figured it would look quite right again- but after Don and Sons did their work, the truck looks absolutely perfect! It came fully clean and washed on the outside and the inside was vacuumed and clean as well. They took care of the insurance claim and we were totally hands off other than dropping it off. 100% would recommend.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

We are thrilled with Don and Sons. Just got our Tahoe back after someone had backed into it and it looks like it was driven right off the dealership parking lot! It looks amazing and they even went above and beyond and cleaned the inside. So thankful for them getting us in fast, giving us a loaner that was suitable for our family, and professional care! I would highly recommend Don and Son s Body Shop to anyone who needs their vehicle repaired. From the first estimate, I was blown away by the care and expertise of the staff. It really felt like they valued me as a customer and Nick took the time to explain what needed done and how they would do it. Compared to anywhere else, I felt right away that they knew what they were doing. After getting the work done, I was floored by how good my vehicle looked. The car hasn t looked that nice since I bought it and you would never be able to tell that anything had happened to it. Plus, the paint job was phenomenal. They got my car done faster than expected. They provided me a free loaner. The dealer shipped a damaged door and they held out for a top quality one. The car was so clean and looked great when I got it back. Wow! I hope I don't need to, but I would certainly use Don and Sons again. I think this is the third time I have used them. Great work always.

I am so grateful to Nick and the whole team at Don and Sons! They were so helpful to me while my car was there and I got a nice loaner vehicle as well! Nick certainly went above and beyond to make sure I was fully aware and that I understood everything that was going on with the car and our insurance company! I cannot thank him and everyone else at Don and Sons enough! You guys are the best!

My repair of my 2016 Chrysler Town & Country back door & glass replacement looks great. Todd & Carrie were patient & kind as my insurance was slow approving repairs via e-mails back & forth not in person. I stopped @ shop daily or called in person almost daily for 2 weeks till work completed. Van was detailed beautifully when I picked it up. After getting a smaller dent in a parking lot accident, repairs were done to perfection, inside of the car detailed beautifully, and the car was done earlier than expected. Absolute BEST service I have ever had! Job well done to all employees at Don & Sons. Their customer service is a real treat compared to other car service companies. Top quality work, they keep you informed with the progress of your car during service, loaner car was really nice to have while my car was being repaired. There was a couple things that I noticed after the repairs (nothing that was their fault) which they looked into right away and corrected the problem. Nick was very informative and made sure to explain things in a way that was easily understood by someone that isn't familiar with cars. To top everything off, they fully detail the exterior of your car so it comes back nice and clean, even when I just needed them to look at something.If you are looking for a body shop, look no further! You will be very impressed with them.

Did a great job on my Jeep. The repair was done timely and they really did a nice job! They even washed and cleaned out my vehicle. Left their lot feeling terrific! My dad used them for his cars and our family is still using them. Great customer service and quality workmanship! Took our Mazda 3 to have the front bumper replaced, after we struck an object on the highway. We were given an estimate that stayed very close to the actual repair costs, and the work took only a few days. Most importantly, to us, Don & Sons matched the paint on the new bumper perfectly to the rest of the car. That Mazda Soul Red is a tricky color, and they took the time in the shop to match it perfectly. We are very satisfied, and glad we chose Don & Sons.

I cannot recommend Don &Sons highly enough. They recently fixed my truck on the week before Easter. The work they did was great and professional, but what stunned me was their customer service. I am a college student in the area and of course wanted to go home for Easter. When they decided they wouldn't have my truck done before the weekend they called me and rented me a car from Enterprise for the weekend. I was absolutely thrilled with both the work and the customer service from this company.

Being away at college in Ames and needing to get my son's car fixed was such a pleasant experience at Don's. They took care of business professionally and effortlessly and my son didn't need to worry about getting around with the free loaner car. Thank you to Carrie for her help with an additional problem in the area of damage (fixing the lock that hadn't worked since a previous repair). My son says the car looks great, with a surprise repair to the trim on the front door, thank you very much. They also cleaned the inside of the car, above and beyond in my book. I would highly recommend Don and Sons to everyone needing a quality and effortless body repair job.

I have used Don and Sons 3+ times. I live in DesMoines and choose to drive 40 minutes out of my way to get their services. Why? Because they communicate with me, they do the repairs like I am a family member meaning they want to do it right the first time , they offer a loaner car, and my car comes back detailed. Everyone did a great job. I was able to quickly get a quote for insurance needs, dropping the car off at the appointment date was easy and I was given a loaner car without any difficulty, and when it was done I was able to get my car back in minutes. I enjoyed the speed and quality of service I received. Will definitely go back for any body work needed in the future.

Working with Don and Sons is always great from start to finish. I have had several things done and have always been taken care of well from filing the claim to the end product. They are fast, efficient and detail oriented. The icing on the cake is having my car look brand new inside when they are finished. Thank you for your great work.

I'd been having suspension/handling issues for months and even after new suspension put on, the problem still persisted. I'd been to numerous mechanics in Ames for several months to troubleshoot the issue to no avail. I went to Don and Sons for some much needed assistance. Todd Martin took the time to test drive my vehicle and identify the issue I had been having. He and his team put my car up on the hoist and found mud caked up and into my tires, cleaned that all up, then took my car to Jeff at Trickle's for further analysis. The mechanic at Trickle's finally has a diagnosis for me...finally! When I spoke with Todd after I spoke with the mechanic at Trickle's, he told me I didn't owe them anything but a good plug on a Google review. Todd and Don and Son's went above and beyond to help me and get me headed in the right direction to solve a months long problem. And after they did all that, they wouldn't take any payment from me when I offered. Count on not only your much earned glowing Google review but that case of beer is coming for your shop guys! I can't thank Todd Martin and the team at Don and Sons for their courtesy, time, and efforts to sincerely help me. Class act all around and I'll let anyone know about what a great group they are. Had a great experience getting hail dents repaired. They examined every inch of the car to ensure all dents were identified.Got a very thorough explanation of options and the costs associated up front.They worked directly with my insurance agent and adjuster to make it a seamless transaction. The adjuster commented that their estimates are highly accurate and trustworthy.They reviewed exactly what was done before I left, and made sure I was happy with their work.I highly recommend them!

I had what I would call a crack in my bumper. I thought i would get a new bumper for my 4 runner. I'm glad I was informed that after stop bumper don't fit correctly. I'm not sure how they fixed it, but it looks like a new bumper. I can't even tell where the crack was at. They also took the time to get a few scratches out around my tail gate.I am super thrilled with the work and will only come here for my repairs. They get it right the first time. Plus it was done earlier than anticipated.I have since had to have my 4 runners rear bumper fixed again. Don and Son's does excellent work! I never have to worry about the work or paint not being exact. This time when I picked up my 4 runner, I got out and checked the licence plate number to make sure I was getting in the right vehicle. They had completely detailed the inside and it looked and smelled like a new vehicle. AMAZING! I am completely excited that it was fixed and ready to go before a major vacation road trip. Looks amazing, and small rock chips in the front bumper were fixed also. I have recommended this auto body shop to all my friends. Nick is so easy to work with and treats you better than I have been treated in other body shops. This is appreciated more than words can ever describe.Thank you for your excellent customer service and amazing job repairing my vehicle.

I highly recommend Don and sons body shop. I had a lot of damage to my 2017 Chevy Duramax after an accident. Every one of the people who work there truly care and are a pleasure to work with. They keep you updated on the progress of your repairs and will contact you if they run into any problems. They deal with your insurance company and take a lot of stress off your hands. In the unfortunate event I have another accident I know exactly where I will take my vehicle for repairs. Thank you Don and sons for getting me back on the road.

A taxi backed into my parked car at 2:00am one night, breaking the bumper cover and tail light of my Trailblazer.I took it to Don & Sons to get it fixed with the taxi company's insurance information. It was great! Didn't have to worry about the cost at all, it was all taken care of without needing anything from me. Back of my car now looks brand new. The best part was getting my car back completely cleaned! Outside was waxed, inside was vacuumed, shampooed. Smelled like a new car again.I will definitely be a Don & Sons customer as long as I live in Ames!

Someone ran into my practically brand new Mazda 6 in a parking lot and did quite a bit of damage. I got their insurance info, took the car to Don & Sons, and they took care of the rest. Carrie kept me informed throughout the entire process, and the car came back looking like the day I bought it. The detailing was a very nice touch. I will definitely be returning if I need auto body work done in the future.

I called and asked if they would have time to help my daughter out with her car. She tried to get her oil changed at another business in Ames. The service techs could not get the hood of her car open. I called Don & Sons. I spoke with Todd & he said to send her over. Within minutes they had the problem solved and sent her on her way. It is so nice to find a business that still practices excellent customer service!!
