I had the greatest experience at AutoZone this morning. First of all, I came in about ten minutes after they opened because I had to get going early. David was so helpful in explaining what I needed and how to use it. I appreciated the fact that he didn't make me feel like I should have already know all this information. I will definitely be making this location my number one for all car needs!

Had a issue with my battery cable and the 2 people working at this autozone went well out of there way to help me get the problem fixed. Not once did I feel like I was a burden to them and they explained everything to me and helped me get the problem fixed without spending a bunch of money. It was a great experience and much appreciated. I would give them 10 stars if I could. That young lady and young man really made their company look real good and I would recommend them to everyone. Great experience.

Super helpful staff! Was 6 degrees outside and the young man replacing our car battery did a superb in getting the job done in the bitter cold. Despite the misery of doing the task outside, having one of the bolts break on us, and ensuring the strap down bolts were secured in the tight corners that couldn't be reached, he remained in good spirits to see the task through.

Ames, Iowa AutoZone is outstanding! Specifically, Jay and Tricia. Both were my customer service reps this evening as I rolled into Ames, Iowa from Colorado Springs, CO. As I drove into Ames, my engine's responsiveness started acting unusual where the engine wasn't accelerating appropriately as I pressed the accelerator. As the engine began it's sporadic hesitation, the check engine light came on. This was a very nerve racking situation because it's 6pm Saturday evening and I have to drive to my destination the very next morning, with several kids, for a 3 day wrestling camp! With the check engine light on, I drove to this AutoZone where Jay and Tricia immediately assisted me by getting me an OBD II Scanner so I could start trouble shooting the check engine light. Turned out, I had a faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor! YIKES! Replacing this component isn't the easiest because it's located deep inside the engine bay. Again, it's approx. 6pm and this AutoZone closes at 9pm. I'm now racing against the store's closing time and the sun going down, making visibility extremely difficult for where the sensor is located. For example; replacing this sensor involved me having to raise the vehicle, remove the front passenger wheel, removing the wheel well shroud, moving an O2 Sensor wire and brake line for easier access. As I attempted to raise my vehicle, the jack handle (from my vehicle's tire change kit) broke! YIKES! Jay and Tricia immediately assisted me in finding a suitable replacement jack and leant me several tools I needed to complete the job. Initially, it appeared they had the replacement sensor I needed in stock, but after several attempts of me attempting to connect the wiring harness to the replacement sensor, we learned the new sensor wasn't the right one, even though the part number was correct and it looked almost identical to the old sensor. Even though their store did not have the right sensor, Jay and Tricia worked tirelessly calling around until they found a store that had the right sensor. Additionally, because my vehicle was disabled at the moment, Jay drove me to that store and waited for me until I got the right sensor, then he drove me back so I could finish the job! Thankfully, I was able to finish the job before the store closed and the sun went down. If it weren't for Jay & Tricia's immediate willingness to help and can-do attitudes, I would have missed the reason I drove to Iowa and wasted several days and hundreds of dollars. Jay & Tricia's professional and service before self approach to customer service has me very thankful I choose AutoZone for my automotive needs.

I was traveling in Iowa from out of state when my car battery died in Boone on an incredibly hot day! The jump from roadside assistance didn't work and a new battery was recommended. I called the manager, Nick who quickly checked to ensure they had the correct battery in stock. I called for a tow but was told it would be at least 2-3 hours before they could reach me and tow me to AutoZone for the battery. Upon hearing this, Nick offered to bring the battery to the parking lot where I was stranded and install it himself! I will be eternally grateful for the exceptional service I received!! Saying he went above and beyond is an understatement!! I highly recommend this AutoZone!! Thank you Nick!!

My first time there was last night. I thought I knew what I was doing but had a question, the man that helped me was so great; told me of a less costly solution and then volunteered to show me how to actually install it so I could learn. When I told him it was not for my car but my son's he said to send him back and he'd teach him. So refreshing to receive such a high level of service, especially considering there is little upside for the business, I spent ten bucks!

My wife and I went in to check my daughter's car battery and Christopher was awesome!! He tested the battery and explained everything he was doing. We needed a new battery and he helped us purchase a new one and he installed it. While, explaining everything he was doing. HE WAS AWESOME!! Thanks

Went in with a dead battery/alternator issue. They hooked it up and checked and recharged the battery for me and found it was an alternator issue. I was going to install it before going home cause my truck died in the parking lot and wouldn t start. The guy that helped us (bad with names but was from Illinois) jumped right on helping us with it and even did most of the work to install it. Super helpful and super awesome service would totally recommend.

When I had gone in today I was looking for a new headlight for my car and I had mentioned I didn t know anything about it to the lady at the front. She explained the bulbs to me but when I had asked how to install it she kind of blew me off and referred me to other stores to install it. The overall experience wasn t the best and I had gone to this location because of the reviews saying how helpful the employees were and how they would assist in installation. This was a disappointing experience especially being the first time buying headlights.

Guy was helpful and friendly. He did a bunch of tests on my battery for a couple hours and told me it was fine. My car still wouldn't hold a charge so we went to a different autozone and they told me the battery was terrible and needed replaced. Got a free replacement under warranty!

We live out of state and my daughter attends Iowa state. She was having problems with her car not starting. Called your store and employees went above and beyond to help me help her! Got a jump to get the car there. Employees tested her battery, not good, recommend a what one to but and installed it for her. Also due to the jump start, apparently her car is known to blow the power steering fuse! Luckily her fuse box was under the hood and they were able to locate the blown fuse and replace that for her as well!! I can t thank your employees enough for all their help!Sincerely,A very thankful and relieved mom!!!

Ordered a part, was told it would be here next day at 11:00 am. I show up to get it, it didn't come in no call to tell me that. Was told they would go get the part and it would be here by 3 pm. Come back at 4 pm no part no call. Now it comes in in 2 days. Too late, now I have to drive 3 hours each way to put on my daughter's car. How hard is a call. I could have gotten it somewhere else maybe and saved a lot of aggravation. Not happy.

I went to autozone today with a headlight out in my car. I don't have much knowledge with cars and I knew it would be simple but I definitely didn't know how to change it. Two of the gentlemen working today were extremely quick to help me and not only helped me pick the correct lightbulb, but installed it for me as well! I was in and out within 10 minutes! Very friendly and knowledgeable as well. :)

I came to replace a bad battery in a very cold and windy day. It took the mechanic (I wish I had asked for his name) about one and a half hours, because the battery was located in a place that was hard to reach. I wanted to observe the process to learn how this was done, but had to flee into the store after watching 30 minutes, because I was frozen. I grew up in a cold area and still could not stand the cold, but the mechanic patiently and carefully finished the job, all in the open air! I really appreciate the professionalism.

I have to say how appreciative I am for the team at this location. My daughter's (student at ISU, Go Cyclones!) vehicle needed a new battery during this last cold snap. They had the exact match in the door in 24 hours and installed it as soon as she got there, while she waited. Outstanding service from the time I called (talked to Colt) to when the battery was installed! Thank you very much!

The customer service at AutoZone was impeccable! I had never visited that location before and was casually given a suggestion to visit there to purchase a car battery for a good price. Add an employee who is on break asked me what I was looking for and I told him and he got off of his break and went back in to look something up for me. He came back with a battery that was 30 to $40 less expensive then two other competitors prices. I was on bicycle and after a long journey to find a battery at my first stop it was going to be either riding the bicycle with a car battery or taking the bus with the car battery. An employee suggested that he could give me a ride home after he got off work in 20 minutes. I called a few of other businesses to find out their lowest price on a car battery and decided to go with the low price at AutoZone. An employee was going on another delivery an offer to not only take me home with my battery but to also put my bicycle in the back of the work vehicle. I cannot say how impressed I am that everyone went above and beyond their jobs and no one was acting selfishly or two me a bottom line for commissions. I truly think that the employees at AutoZone on South Duff have my business for the duration of my stay.

If you need car parts that are pretty general/universal, this is a good place to shop. Not a lot of specialty parts but lots of things like license plate frames, wiring, speakers, etc. Also, when I checked out, the staff member who was helping me thought my name was Jeff and I thought it was funny so 5/5.

Best Autozone in Iowa! Assisted me and my son with the best customer service ever. Found me an alternator and a name to a top notch mechanic who had us up and running so we could get to Tennessee for the holidays!
