I was having trouble with my right front tire going low in these cold temps. I brought my car to them and the service was top notch and quick. Everyone was super nice and made sure I was updated throughout the process. I highly recommend this company for any of your maintenance needs! They are great!

I needed new tires and a wheel alignment. Derek took the time to explain why it was important to replace all 4 rather than just the two with the most wear, and didn't seem to mind my questions. I was very happy with the quick service, and the price was reasonable.

Horrible business with awful customer service, I wish I could give them ZERO stars. After paying more than $600 to have the front brake pads and rotors replaced on my wife's car, the tech installed them WRONG! Horrible squealing metal on metal sound as soon as we picked up the car and applied the brakes. Had to take the car back to be fixed. After looking at them, they told us the person who installed them did it improperly. I had to tell them that it was you, this CarEx location that installed them wrong. After showing them the bill, they acted like they were doing us a favor by fixing them, because the parts were still under "warranty". Not a location to be trusted with quality work!!!

They fixed my car charged me $1300, and then my engine light reappeared the same day it was fixed . They ended up leaving loose tools/parts under my hood, would not recommend

We were driving through on our way to Nebraska and got a nail in our tire. Not only was the staff professional, they fit us in to their schedule and had the repair done in no time. Great service!!

I was traveling and needed my tires checked and also needed air in my tires. The owner and the young man who helped me were lovely. Great customer service and did not even charge me. I would definitely spend my money here and give them my business!

Nothing but respect for the professionalism Chad and Shawn (Sean?) Showed us when we took our car in for an appointment. We only have one vehicle so we had to stick around. They made sure we drove off with a car that was safe to do so and had a plan of action for the remaining issues later in the week. The 4 hours we were there the first time, we were never forgotten about. They were both open people and you could tell the entire atmosphere of the place was very positive. Even the mechanics seemed to be having a good time! We were treated with respect and I enjoyed the conversations they were willing to have with us in their little down time they had. They were very communicative with us when we dropped the car back off to them and were very willing to work with our schedule. They definitely have our business as long as they are both working there. Thank you to everyone at this location for being awesome!Services: Tires, Steering & suspension replacement, Wheel alignment

Once again I received excellent service at Car-X in Altoona. During an appointment to have a faulty tire pressure sensor replaced, I discussed a problem I was having with the touch screen in my car. I knew from a previous discussion that this was something that would have to be taken care of by my dealer, but Eric took the time to explain how software updates occurred and check the software version in the hopes that a software update would resolve the problem. Eric also offered to call a contact he had at the dealer to let them know what assistance I was going to need. Unfortunately I'm going to need to replace the entertainment center, but thanks to Eric I know what I need and can schedule my appointment when finances allow. I have taken the last 5 vehicles I owned to Car-X locations, and feel very comfortable that I will get honest and accurate information and service. I highly recommend this service center.Service: Tires

Our van started shaking as we we driving on interstate 80. Called Car-x and they were friendly, fast and accommodating. We were able to get our van fixed same day and head home the next day as planned. Would definitely recommend!Service: Auto maintenanceService: Auto maintenance

I m very disappointed with this Car-X location. My aunt stopped in there 3 weeks ago to get her battery replaced. An hour later she left after paying $563 parts and labor for a new battery!I found out after the fact what she had done. I called the AutoZone next door and priced the exact same battery. She could have bought it there for $300 less and they would have installed it for her free of charge. I called and spoke with the Car-X manager. I explained to her that I thought they took advantage of my senior aunt. She has been a regular customer there for a long time. Gets her oil changed there, brakes replaced, etc. The manager said well that s our normal charge for a battery replacement. She said she couldn t do anything about it, but she would speak with the district manager and see if they could do anything. Then she said she would follow up with her. That was two weeks ago and my aunt has heard nothing.I hope they enjoyed overcharging for something like this because it s the last time they will see her family and friends or mine as customers. This is not how you treat loyal customers.

Avoid this CarX location. Tried to scam me out of $159.99 coupon. Did not apply it to final bill. Said it would come off the end. Now I have to go through corporate for my $159.00 to be returned. Had an issue with my 2021 Honda CRV, the protective plate came loose in the front was dragging on the ground. Called SMART Honda ( where I bought the vehicle) and they could not get me in till next week. Called CARX Altoona and got me in right away and fixed the problem in 15 minutes at no charge. I am sure Honda would have charged me for the repair. Thank you CARX!Service: Auto maintenance

I brought my car in after noticing a big puddle of antifreeze in my garage shortly after getting one of my tires fixed at the dealership where my father is a service advisor.Car-X was able to get me in quickly, but then said that they didn't see any antifreeze leak, but that my car had a "HUGE oil leak" that needed fixed.Skeptical, my dad told me to just pick up my car and not have them do anything.It's been 2 weeks and I've checked my oil every day, with ZERO sign of any oil leak.We think that one of the techs at my dad's dealership probably just spilled a bit of antifreeze when they topped it off, and Car-X just said there was a "HUGE oil leak" so they could get more money out of me.Pretty sketchy.

The manager Chad and Keith the assistant manager got me in right away for a check on a sound I was hearing before my trip to Iowa City within the hour. I was impressed that they worked to get me in so quickly. While looking for the sound notice ball joints were bad and several other things that put me at risk on my travels. I was once again impressed by the professionalism and concern for my safety. The tech was Steve and he did an excellent job fixing my vehicle and put on a new set of tires on the same day. They took me to my home and picked me up while waiting for till my vehicle to be completed. Impressed I was and they definitely earned my trust and my ongoing business. Never have I felt that comfortable getting my vehicle repaired. Great job Keith, Chad and Steve!!!! Chalk and cheese, that's the difference since management stepped up the game. They finished servicing the car when they said they would, called us as soon as it was ready, and checked before doing any extra work that came up as a result of the service inspection. They were friendly and professional. Happy to use them again in the future.

Always up front with you about your repair. I've been taking my vehicles here for several years even though I live a couple cities over now.Managers are lively and if you decide to stick around and wait for your repair, will small talk if they have time and you want. There's free snacks and drinks while waiting as wellTechs are certified and know what they're doing. I feel great and in good hands when I bring my cars here.Free diagnostics and lookover as well.Sometimes hard to get ahold of on the phone but just be persistent and patient. I would always recommend making an appointment in advance so you know that you're getting in and having the time to get your repair done.

I am happy to say that I have finally found a new auto service center that exceeded my expectations. I HIGHLY recommend Altoona Car-X! The manager, Chad & his Team went above and beyond to make sure that my car was serviced in a timely manner so I could make it to work on time. They were very efficient with their services and have UNBEATABLE prices $$. My family will no longer be going anywhere else..pretty awesome crew there!! They're quality of service has plummeted since the manager with the beard left. Prices became outrageous and customer service is horrible. It used to feel personable and now it feels like your dealing with telemarketers. They need to back to the way it was. I won't be returning until it is. We've taken all our family vehicles to carx for several years now. They always treat us well and make sure we're able to get an appointment time that works for us. They've worked on many problems with our cars. They're great at diagnostics. They always give good work. They help offer ways to save money on our repairs both regular maintenance and unexpected problems. From out of town, had clunky noise after leaving a conference there in Altoona. Didn't know who to call or who to trust for car repair on a Saturday afternoon. Googled, called them, and they said to bring it right over and they would look at it. I did that , they got the part, and were able to make the repair. Very friendly, honest, and accommodating. Highly recommend!

The online online appointment process was very easy. I took my car in for my AC not working and they diagnosed it quickly after I dropped it off for my appointment. The estimate was reasonable and they even worked on the price for me. They were very straightforward but in the end it was more than I wanted to invest. I would highly recommend them.

Eric!!!! He is the real MVP!!! I ran something over on the highway on Friday at 545 pm, I called car x and got Eric and was told to bring it on in!!!!! He had us in and out in 30 minutes!!!!!!! I come from a busy city and it is hard to find trustworthy, honest, and quality attention from a mechanic from were I come from. The customer service is phenomenal Jeff was really helpful and attentive and ready with any answer. I could definitely say that my time was well spent with everyone at this office. I could not emphasize enough how happy I am with their service, help, and how my truck was left after their care. If you are having second thoughts of taking your car here, do not because it is worth every second and penny of your time.
