Update 2/28/23. David King from Warsaw, IN stole over $8,000 from me. He never started the work or bought the materials to do so. I am not even aware of the location of my pontoon. He has changed his number and email address and has apparently sold the business. David has had my pontoon since July of 2021 with a contract to complete by spring of 2022. As of December of 2022 the restoration of my boat has not been started. He only communicates when I request updates and he responds with similar excuses about staffing issues but says he will be starting on it soon. I have read other reviews of similar experiences and am very concerned at this point that I will lose a 2nd summer or never get my boat completed. I will update this review if anything changes.Update and reply 3/10/23: If this is true David, where are the seats and materials that you claimed you had purchased? What did you do with my down payment and the stereo that I sent? You are now putting blame on someone who bought your business. How can he finish the projects when you ran away with the down payments and the materials that you said you purchased? So, you expect that since you sold the business that Terry should and can fulfill the contract with no money and no materials because you stole it all?

We too have been taken by this business. We signed a contract and gave him over $8,000 back in early 2021 and like so many others, David King strung us along with lies and excuses for two years now. How does David King (who supposedly doesn't own the business as of late February 2023) have access to respond to these reviews as owner & have all of our emails to send us the sales contract??? Eventually, the full truth will come out and he will be held accountable.

Is anyone working with attorney in Warsaw? if so which one?We gave David King a large deposit and our boat in Feb 2021 and he said it would be finished in Late May 2021. We Have gotten nothing but excuses. I have records of all conversations date, times. Terry contacted us yesterday and said we needed to pick up our boat before he files chapter 11 and that David King has disappeared. Terry said there was information being gathered on Facebook page but I can t find any such page. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a total lie. We were never informed and he took us for over $7,000.00. The guy he sold to Terry, seems like a wonderful man, but whatever this David King is saying is a lie. We didn't know any of this and he sold his business and never told us anything about our boat or money. Fraud!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

We signed a contract in August of 2021. Deposits and down payments were made. At that time, David told us our boat would go in for restoration in January with completion to be complete the first of March. Too much detail to cover here but boat was still sitting where it was parked in his lot in April. We were to have a new motor installed and new cover made but missed both dates because of David's lack of commitment to the timelines he made. Boat was supposed to be in and done before Memorial Day. Arrangements were made with David before he left(again) for Mexico with the technician working on our boat. Thursday before Holiday weekend I called to pick up the boat Friday. Was told there was no way it would be ready and David was aware before he left. I went in and picked up an incomplete boat the following week. New motor was installed but not connected. All wiring had to be redone and console had to be wired and qauges installed. It's also worth noting that with all the material shortages happening, David didn't order furniture until April with a 6-8 week lead time and what he ordered was wrong. I ended up buying furniture through Pontoon Stuff in Elkhart. In my opinion, based on my experience and others I've since spoken with, this company has cash flow issues. If you're considering having your boat restored, look elsewhere and save yourself time, money and frustration. There was always a reason or an excuse but never an admission of responsibility or accountability by David.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had a leak in a pontoon and Dave said he could fix it right away if I would pay him cash upfront, which I did. About a month went by and he had not worked on the pontoon yet. I called Dave and he said that it would be a few months before he could get to it. I didn't want to wait and I went and picked it up. Dave forgot to tell me that he had drilled two holes in the back of my pontoons and he did not weld in any plugs in the holes so I left his shop with two additional holes in my pontoon boat. I am not sure what is going on with his shop but he has unfinished pontoon projects all over the place. His shop guy mentioned that other people had picked up their unfinished projects as well.

David restored my 24 Foot 1990 Manitou Pontoon. He did a nice job restoring my pontoon. The seats are sharp looking and of good quality. I saved a lot of money restoring my old pontoon compared to buying a brand new one which can cost as much as a new car. David went the extra mile delivering my pontoon. When the pontoon got stuck in shallow water due to a strong East wind, Dave jumped in the water with his clothes on to push the pontoon into deep water. This was in April and the water wasn t actually warm. I would not hesitate to recommend Pontoon Restoration for your pontoon restoration project.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Something fishing is going on. David King says he sold the company for $1. New owner said he will not do the work that David said would be done when he took the 7300.00 deposit. Police report has been made and lawyers are being contacted.

I recently purchased a used helm at a very reasonable cost from David King and was fortunate that they had one that matched the color combination of the new seats that I purchased. He s also been available for me to ask questions about the entire restoration process. I ll be going back in the future for other things in the future and I d recommend him to anyone for their pontoon restoration.

David from Pontoon Restoration was great to work with. He gave me multiple choices for restoring my 2003 Aqua Patio pontoon. Once we decided on a complete restore, we dropped off the boat at David's shop and his team went to work. David kept me apprised of the progress the whole way through, sending me pictures and letting me know timing. Once the project was finished, we picked up our boat and could not have been more pleased. Our pontoon is like brand new and everyone we have taken out on the boat has commented on how nice it looks. Totally recommend Pontoon Restoration for your Pontoon needs. Thank you David!!!

Dave helped with the overall design and specific desires with our pontoon restoration. We were highly satisfied with the result! He was on time and very receptive to any post work minor problems. Of course, everyone on the lake thought we bought a new pontoon! Definitely worth the cost.

David and his crew did a very good job on the restoration of my 2007 Crest pontoon. His advise and suggestions were very helpful.I like the quality of the materials used and the people He has working for him are great to work with. If I had another boat to restore I would definitely work with David to get it done. Great job guys!!!

David and his team did an amazing job on our pontoon. David came out of his way to come to the house to discuss the restoration and was very helpful in our decision making process. I highly recommend him and his company. We are very very pleased with the result.

Not a good experience with this company. At first I thought it was a good choice. He came to my location to pick up my boat. We worked on the details of the job and off he went with my boat. Then all the fun started. It was frustrating trying to get ahold of Dave the owner. I would send texts to him and I wondered if he even read them. Now we get to the good part. He calls me up and tells me the boat will be done and I need to have payment in a week which I agreed to. However the return trip to bring my boat back went from $490 to $1000 because he decide to get a new truck and he needed some to help pay for it. Right then and there I knew this guy was shady. So instead of paying him a grand for delivery I purchased a trailer and made the 4 hour trip to see the boat and pick it up myself. I get there and the the boat's not even done. They have to put lights on it, dock lights and the blue interior lights. So I go to lunch and realize they didn't put the pedestal support bracket in the floor. I call Dave up and tell him about that. I asked Dave if he fired up the engine he says no he's seen that it had been winterized by someone. That winterization was from several years ago. However instead of calling me he just doesn't do anything. I get the boat home and the engine turns over but won't fire up. So I now wonder is there something wrong with the engine or did this shoddy business not hook something up correctly. The engine ran fine before I shut it down, how do you hook up the new console wiring and not double check to make sure you wired it correctly. So I'm still without a boat in the water because of this company. I would recommend finding someone else to work on your boat. Dave is more worried about getting your deposit and then payment than he is about doing a good job. I shouldn't give this business 1 star. August 6th this is an update on our experience with this company. I finally was able to get my boat serviced so that we could use it this summer. I took my boat to Ohio Boat Works who worked on the problem we were having with the shifter. What they told me was that the control/shifter box was totally jacked up nothing was hooked up correctly. Someone at Pontoon restoration had have taken the box apart to get the cables through the opening on the new console they installed. Apparently that person did not know how to do that or the manager that quit that day sabotaged the box. Thank you Ohio Boat works for fixing this problem. After taking my boat out for the first time this summer I noticed the lights that Pontoon restoration put on are now falling off and coming out of the seat, maybe that is what happens when the job is not done correctly, they did this at the last minute only because I noticed it when I picked up the boat. And then I also notice the gas gage and the speed gage on the new console that Pontoon restoration installed do not work either. I wish I would have taken my boat to Ohio Boat works instead of wasting my time with this company and Dave King. I take my 1 star back and I would give them nothing but bad marks. If you take your boat here you take the chance of getting the same service. If you do not believe me look at the other post. I saw two others with the same type of service. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this company and I would absolutely not recommend Pontoon Restoration. However I would recommend using Ohio Boat Works in Reynoldsburg Ohio. Michael is a good guy and they know how to restore all types of boats, pontoon to power boats.

Dave took our old pontoon and made it better than new. He had some awesome ideas and was very creative. Finished 2 weeks earlier than he estimated ,and was right on budget. Thanks Dave for the awesome job.

Pontoon restoration did a complete restoration of our 25 year old pontoon about 3 years ago. They did a great job. They replaced the decking only where needed, instead of just completely replacing, which saved us money. They suggested and put down the vinyl on the on the deck which is great, very easy to clean, and does not get hot. Also they raised the side walls about 1/2" which allows for water to run off, rather than being caught as it was in the past, this was again their suggestion. The seats they replaced have held up well. We definitely would recommend their work.

Our experience with this business was very disappointing. Right from the start David King seemed to be more focused on getting our money rather than doing a good job on our boat. Buyer beware, this is a money hungry third class operation. They don t deserve one star.

They weren't even interested in giving us an estimate. We were looking to get our seats replaced in our pontoon. But I guess they are only interested in bigger clients. If Pontoon Restoration Company wasn't interested in having us for a customer or too busy or whatever, I wish they would have just told us in the first place. Now we are behind in the process by almost 1 month. We have finally given up. Very disappointed.

Dave and the rest of his guys did very well for me. When I arrived my order was already on the trailer ready to drive away, he made sure we had everything before we left, and even checked to ensure we made it home safely.
