I reputable business very honest after driving 20 hours nonstop from Boston because my father was passing away here in South Bend. I noticed a terrible flaw in my tire. I have an unusual SUV with unusual tires and they were not able to source it locally but the gentleman was kind enough to switch it out with the full spare tire so I could get back to Massachusetts and order new ones as a blonde female It s very obvious when I walk through the door that I don t know much about cars ( yikes ) and it makes one feel very vulnerable . i ve developed sort of a phobia of walking into automotive or car dealerships, but that was not the case here and I very much appreciate your help. I m very far from home. Thank you, Jenna-I also want to thank the local couple who offered me a ride back to the hospital in the rain to see my dad. Thank you very much and God bless you both for your kindness. I was born here, 30 some years ago.. but I don t know the area at all. I was very very lucky to come to this place

Always have been up front and honest with me, if I need something done on a budget they always are willing to work with me on what needs done immediately and what can wait. Overall i highly recommend this buisness, they are honest and hard working folk.

They started working on my car BEFORE giving me an estimate or getting my permission. This is an older vehicle which we were trying to decide if it was worth fixing. I will NOT be using their services in the future. After more than a decade of being loyal customers it saddens me that I will have to find somewhere else for my car repairs. It is NOT the same after the former owners sold out. I used to feel confident in the service and treatment but now it feels like the same run-around you get at a dealership where all they want is to upsell. **** PLEASES NOTE: After my review, I was contacted by Central Automotive and we had a converstaion about my experience. I am happy to report that they were very generous in refunding some of my expenses for the unauthorized work. This has gone a long way to repair my confidence in using their services in the future.Service: Auto maintenance

I've been going here for a few years. My son also. These folks are professional and knowledgeable. If you work downtown, it's the perfect place to drop off your car. My state agency employer uses them also. Good people!

Honest, courteous and reliable. I have been a customer at PTL for years and highly recommend them to my friends. We have 4 older vehicles that they help us to maintain and keep safely running for my family. They work hard to make the appointments fit into our busy schedule. They are detail specific and take the time to explain the estimates before the work is done, They also give us options on immediate services needed and those recommended in the future so that we are able to anticipate and budget for future repairs.

9/23/13 First Time Customer - I heard high reviews from my boss and friends that Hedman Tire & Auto were the best, and they exceeded my expectation.Jeff was Extremely Friendly, Very Fair in Price, and Honest on work that had to be done. Explained the repairs, even emailed pictures of work to be done, and when it would be done.I will never go back to the dealer after taking my 12 year old car there faithfully, a Hedman customer now. Thanks again for keeping me safe.

My daughter is a student at University of Notre Dame many miles from home(New York) Her car broke down and she had to bring it to a mechanic. We were afraid that an unfamiliar mechanic would take advantage of her lack of any mechanical knowledge. Your company was amazing. You were completely honest, thorough and respectful. The car only needed a new battery and you fixed It while she waited. Thank you for your honesty. She will recommend your shop to all her fellow students

Honest, courteous, professional and great work. I have always felt 100% confident in referring friends to Hedman's, and when I have checked in with people after they've taken in their car they are just as happy with Hedman's service as we are.

We have been taking our cars to PTL for many years. They have consistently been fair and honest; at times they have told me that a repair didn't need done, or suggested a less expensive option. They are prompt and courteous. Even though we now live in Bremen, we continue to bring our cars to PTL for tires and service

My wife and I have been going to Hedman's for many years.We have always been very please with the staff (Roy, Jeff and the guys).They are always customer friendly and very professional.Their repair work is outstanding and professional, dependable and it will be done in usually the same day you bring it in (depending on what needs to be done of course.)They have kept our cars running good throughout the years.I have and will send people to Hedman's for their automobile needs.Next time your auto needs repaired...remember Hedman Tire and Auto.Tell them we said 'HI'.

Best mechanic shop if you are a woman or female presenting. Like O'Reilly's they are staffed by grandpas and uncles that really want to see the world have safer cars on the road than just making a buck. I always go there first unless it is an emergency and sure enough only when i take it to anotber mechanic in emergency is when i get ripped off.

Got a quote from the shop for parts that were 2.5x the cost of the place they were getting them and that does not even include the discount they would get from NAPA or similar for the parts. Unacceptable.

I can't say enough good things about Hedman Tire and Auto Repair. The ratings do not lie. Packed my family of five in an '02 Jetta and am in South Bend for the summer going to school. I am a fish out of water, and my car dies while we're here. Took it in for a repair not knowing what was going on. I am the CLASSIC case of someone who has no clue about cars; mechanics could absolutely take advantage of me if they were the type to do that.Not Hedman Tire and Auto Repair. They fixed the problem, the price was absolutely reasonable, and my wife had to be the one to take care of all of it because I was in class. The reviews don't lie. Send the car to Hedman.

It's official, this is now my go-to place as my car gets on in age. They've fixed a number of issues for me: power window motor, convertible top switch, misfiring ignition coils. In each case Warren was very transparent about his crew's steps to diagnose and remedy the problem, meaning that they did what they said they would and on the schedule promised. price was reasonable and as forecast.And indeed, their location is frickin awesome; if you work anywhere in South Bend you can pretty much walk bart or muni from here.

Hedman will always have my business. Their techs are knowledgeable and their prices fair. Convinient location downtown means I can walk somewhere to grab a bite to eat if it's a quick fix.

As a guide I think it s my responsibility to give a fair assessment. Have issues or need tires this is the place to go in South Bend.I am not from the area and was only in town because my son has been at the Pediatric ICU At the hospital. My tire was low on pressure and I had paid for air at the citgo and got no air. I was spent from being up all night. He told me to back up and he came right over to help me out. It is businesses like this that can represent the parts of South Bend you want to visit again! Thank you for the help!

My emergency car repairs outnumber any preventative maintenance so I m always grateful for the way Hedman works to take in my vehicle and get me back on the road as soon as possible. I highly recommend for being fair and flexible.

Recent change of name. I was happy with the work received here. They even made a few adjustments on that work a few weeks later for no charge. I would definitely be back.

Expect a call from me tomorrow. Went there for an oil change and a small inspection. They said my front rotors were bad, but it was my back ones. They also didnt tighten the lights on my tires and almost lost my tires driving to my friends house to do the break work ourselves (thankfully I did and didnt choose to go through hedman). As for the oil change. Pretty basic. Kind of hard to screw that up. But turns out they didnt tighten my filter down so I just leaked all of my oil out of my car. Here i am thinking it's something else with my oil because i just got an oil change. If i would have drove home without checking for a leak i would have blown my engine. NEVER GO HERE.Edit for your reply:I WATCHED him take all four of my tires off. So you're very wrong about that, sir. As for the filter you said on the phone "maybe it was a bad filter" and I have 2 things to say about that. 1. An oil change means replacing the filter. So if it was a bad filter that means you guys gave me a bad filter. Which once again means it's your fault.And 2. I was at work and had a co worker look at my car and the filter WASNT TIGHTENED DOWN AT ALL. JUST like the lug nuts to my tires so I'm seeing a pattern. You can keep saying "it was a little over two months ago" all you want but yall were the last ones to work on my car besides ME and MY FRIENDS with MY BREAKS. this is your fault. Own up to it.

I have used Hedman for many years and find them to be helpful with advice about what does and does not need to be done. they are prompt, courteous and reasonable. I am glad they are in south Bend.

I think Hedman Tire & Auto is a GREAT place to take your vehicle!!!They are friendly, honest, and knowledgeable! They won't sell you something you don't need or won't fix something that isn't broken... Use them! Really...

Just went in for an alignment but it turned out to be more than I anticipated. The reason why I rate them so high is because they were open and honest and fair with pricing which I appreciate the most. Definitely go back
