I had an accident and needed body work done. After waiting a month for an estimate and a call back, I called to get an update I got a call back that they lost track of my estimate but it was done. Sad to say I have been a customer for over 30 years up until today

Cates truly places the interests of their customers over their own! They are a family.We just picked up our car, and where most shops would have replaced the entire problem assembly, Cate suggested repairing only a component, thus saving nearly $800!!I appreciate their integrity, as well as the sincere care received from all the office and shop staff!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Side view mirror repair

I have trust in them. The Cates family are honest, sincere , and friendly. We have done business when our cars needed body work, tires and servicing. I also have taken my family members car there when mechanical problems required diagnostic checks. I am glad that I can still get honest personal service. I recommend them without question.

I am always happy with them, since my family always goes there. I went to get air put in a tire, and it was done within 5 minutes.UPDATE:. March 29, 2022- They still provide the same great customer service. I went there to get paint removed that had rubbed off onto my car, and it was done in 15-20 minutes.

Cates has been in business for well over 60 years. To me, that indicates stability and quality. A company just don't survive that long if they're not doing something right. Furthermore, the company was started by the father, Roy, of the current owners. I've had little mechanical work done here but, over the years, a lot of auto-body work. I would highly recommend them for either of their services.

I have always been very satisfied with the work! This time I had to wait for a part to be ordered and paid a very high price. I found the part in town at half the price and it was available for immediate pick up.

Great people , Great service. I broke down on my way home from Colorado and they got me in right away and replaced broken serpentine belt and the water pump at a reasonable price. Great Christian Auto repair shop

Took my car in to have front strut assemblies replaced on Monday. Within an hour they called with their findings and an estimate for repairs. They said it would be Thursday before they would receive parts and here it is Wednesday and my car has been repaired! So very happy with the speed and attention this situation was handled with! Thank you SO MUCH Cates!

This is the absolute best place to get body work done on your vehicle! I just got my car back and it looks amazing. You can't tell where the patch ended and the OEM pain began. Not only was their work well above par, but the customer service was excellent. They coordinated everything with my insurance provider, set me up with a rental, picked me up and all while have a smile on their faces.Other local businesses should mirror their standards after Cates.

They had the supplies to work on an older car. Repairs have lasted well. I am from out of state, my daughters go to school in Richmond, but glad I found this excellent shop in the town.(2 yrs later) I had another opportunity to use Cates - this time for body work. If you want the work done correctly they do excellent work. It was difficult or impossible to find replacement parts so they worked with many of the existing body panels and did excellent work.

The staff here does a fantastic job! I wrecked my vehicle and they only did the work that I WANTED DONE, not whatever they wanted to do. They also called me to keep me updated on the progress, I didn't have to call them all the time. They were very quick, as soon as the part came in they had it installed. Now my vehicle runs like new and I did not have to get all the body work done that I did not need at the moment. I highly recommend going here! Thabo You for the great job, I will be back for anything else that I may need in the future!

I took my car in for some body damage following an accident I had, and all of the workers that I came in contact with whether over the phone or in person were nothing but professionals. My car was returned to me in outstanding condition. If I could give ten stars I certainly would. I would give 0 stars if I could. Took my car to have the rotors resurfaced and when I picked the car up there was absolutely no change. I was told "Bring the car back when it wasn't raining." And that, "Resurfacing wouldn't fix them." I waited a little over a month and took my car to Wetzel. They resurfaced my rotors and it is a night and day difference! I'm so mad at Cate's. Spent $250 there only to have to spend another $300 at Wetzel.Service: Brakes

I trust these experts to do the absolute best work without trying to upsell unnecessarily. Pick up and delivery service if needed. Experienced!!! Everything you hope for in an auto service center. Professionalism, honesty, friendly respectful treatment from the 1st instance of communication, to the final transaction.

Always have quick and painless service, had my car out in a matter of just a couple days, would've been earlier than that too. Plus the people there are always very nice to us.

My experience with Cates has ALWAYS been great! I've used them through the years and have always received great friendly service. Cates has always been the best value. Notice I didn't say cheapest. I would much rather pay more to have work done correctly than have a cheap price from someone only later to have problems. All of our local businesses have to make money. That's why they're there. Cates, in turn, supports the local community. Great job. Great work. Great people.

Family owned,friendly,Christian's, owner helped me personally, I watched every body being kind to one another, did extra for one Man's tire, that is why I give em 5 stars., Bless you guys over there ,keep up the love your giving.

Large, clean facility with eight service bays. Family owned and operated, and they are involved in the daily activities. I was completely satisfied with the service provided on my car. Fast and fair! Highly recommended!

We ve used Cates Auto a couple of times now thanks to deer. Their work is fantastic and they just are so sweet and friendly. They also have rental cars if you need one!!

I'm from outside Richmond but my car unfortunately broke down passing though. A flat tire made me make an unplanned stop at walmart service center for a new one. They notified me of a strong smell of gas around my car. So, based on previous reviews I stopped in to Crate's auto service to have it checked out. I dealt with Don, who was very professional. He explained the problem and showed me the leak at the top of my tank where round the the gas pump. They were able to order the part that day and had me on the way in about 5 hours. In the mean time they provided transportation to and from my hotel. Thanks for getting me back on the road in a timely manner. We made my wifes grandmothers 100th birthday party in New Jersey on time. Thanks..

Purchased a 2010 and as is before 2 payment the car developed an oil leak. Took to Cates great people and very honest. Thank you Cates for being so honest. Will be a repeat customer.
