The alignment received was under warranty which saved me from having to pay for the same service twice. I bought my tires from Firestone and I was given a warranty with them also. Therefore I don't have to concern myself if they have to be serviced again for any reason. The wait time was "OKAY" but it could have been a little shorter but worth the wait.

I wouldn't recommend anyone for this location for the simple fact of me receiving an email stating that I have had service done on my car. Come to find out this location has given someone my telephone number, home address and email on a receipt to someone I don't even know how dangerous this is. They didn't think, oh the name on this account is changing but the telephone number, email address and home address isn't changing, how slow can they be.. So none of these things registered in their brain when they hand all this information over to a complete stranger.

I scheduled an appointment with them at 12:30 to accommodate my schedule, and also assuming it would be in and out considering an oil change doesn't take long. I arrived at 12:15, and have been waiting over 2 hours for them to complete a quick job. What is the point of having the option to set an appointment via app if you aren't going to honor the selected time? I understand they may have additional vehicles to service, and other customers, but I was the only customer in the building after an hour of arriving, and they still didn't finish the job in a timely fashion. I won't be returning.

Mark was exceptional. He knew just what was needed before he let me know what was actually wrong. Also knows the warranties for the work that I asked for. Very pleasant and knows his job well.

I had an emergency tire situation arise on MLK Day and wasn't even sure they'd be open. I also could tell they were extremely busy. I was expecting them to tell me they couldn't get it done the same day, but Neil said they could. Dropped my car off and maybe 3 hours later, it was ready!! Very impressed by Neil and his staff and they definitely won a customers future business that day! Thank you so much!!

Terrible experience called before hand on a road trip with a piece of metal stuck in my tire on a new car was told I d be in and out after an hour of waiting around. My car was pulled in and I was told the whole was too big to plug/patch. That was one of many lies I Was told by Marc. My cars electric and new With everything still under warranty. I have 25+ years of owner/manager experience and custom car audio fabrication, which is a very similar industry and pretty much the exact same job. It was blatantly obvious Marc found it easier to lie to me once he found out, he didn t have tires for my car Then to be honest and say it was too much work for a small dollar Repair he was hoping to sell me a tire, but realized they don t have one for my vehicle. I lost over 2 1/2 hours when it was all set and done and drove the remaining 600 miles of my trip with fix a flat in my tire and was able to easily get it repaired once I arrived at my destination by a local service center in this area for A very minimal charge, and was so grateful I tipped him The same amount, he charged me just for the honesty and good service

Completely, honest, straightforward, and trustworthy folks over there at our Portage Firestone. I also greatly appreciate their hospitality and ability to finish my services in a timely and efficient manner. I will never go anywhere else for my car s needs.

Neil gave such great customer service!! I bring my vehicle to them because they are very honest and try to be fair about the repair pricing, they go above and beyond looking for better prices for parts.

Mark was awesome really helped and looked out. Also was happy they got us in and out in a timely manner, but still made sure job was done correct. I couldn t ask for anything more above and beyond customer service.

Got my tires changed pretty quickly. Shoutout to mark for being outstanding and able to squeeze me in for the tire change before I went on road trip. If you do call make sure you ask for him.

Went to firestone bc I had a bad experience with discount tire. I ordered the rims they call me I set up an appointment for the next day. When I came in the next day no one knew they were putting tires on my truck and they didn t have the people to do my truck that night. So I had to leave work early the next day so I can 6 hrs for them to put new tires and rims on my truck. About 4 hrs into it they told me I I was waiting on the valve stems. I don t have my tire pressure sensors in the tires and I am still waiting for them to call me to finish the job I have already paid them to do.

Beware of Firestone on rt 6 (new one- west of willowcreek rd). Took our car for tires and got an oil change while we were there. They drained the transmission fluid and then just put in oil with the old oil. We left. Car was being really weird but it was on snow so we thought it was that mixed with new tires. Pulled over after about 3 miles, jacked the car up and saw transmission fluid plug was wet and oil plug was dry. After checking oil level we also discovered they put in the wrong oil. We were close to home with 2 babies in the car so we couldn t sit in the cold waiting on a tow so drove the 3 miles home.Called Firestone and they admitted to the mistake and came and towed the car back.We ve called insurance and Subaru to see what we should do and Subaru will be inspecting the transmission this week to see if that will need to be replaced because the car doesn t sound right.On his way to work- total of 22 miles on the new tires- tire blows. These are not the tires he wanted but they kept pushing him to buy. They replaced all 4 tires today for the ones he wanted to begin with at no charge.Yes, they fixed what they could at no cost, but truly they have a bunch of morons working there so just beware if you take your car there. I m sure we ll have to get a lawyer over the cost of a new transmission.

If I could give negative stars I would. Hands down, the most incompetent business that services cars that I've ever dealt with. They have one main job to do, TIRES! They can't even do that right. Took my vehicle to have a tire fixed because, Levin Goodyear on Rt. 6 in Hobart is no longer in business. I had a leaking tire, needed a balance, and 4 wheel alignment. The lady at the desk called me only to say, there was no leak in my tire, (funny, I have been re-inflating it for a week), couldn't do the alignment, because their "tech" wasn't working, and couldn't balance my tires because there wasn't enough tred on my tire! Also, threw in, did you know you have two different size tires on your car? Uh, yeah? I bought it that way, and if you bothered to look at the stamp plate, you'd see it was built that way! Don't have someone working the front desk that doesn't have a MF clue......Told her give me my keys, took my car to Goodyear in Valpo where I was informed the rear tires were put back on the front, and the front tires were put on the back!! I called, and balled them out, they had the audacity to tell me I didn't have my car servied at their shop. Absolutely the most incompetent, worst business in Portage, IN. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Went in for an alignment because I had bought brand new tires at a different location. Guy at the counter says you know we sell tires here right. I said yes I know you sell tires. I just don t want your tires. I would like an alignment. When I got the alignment sheet back, it was barely in spec, but still green. Yeah, green means go but you did nothing. Basically refused to service my vehicle because I didn t buy the tires from him.

Great shop run by great people. Craig and Neil, the managers, are genuine and HONEST people, which is hard to come by in this industry. They don't try to sell you things you don't need, and they stand by the work done in their shop. I've been taking my car to them both for years, since long before the Portage Firestone opened, and continue to now even though there are many other shops closer to me because they are the best! Very happy with the 4 new tires I got today, the great price they got me, and how quickly they got it done!!Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Oil change

I got an alignment from this place. The technician didn't bother to loosen the tie rod boots so they got rather twisted up during the rotation. The boot stself did not tear l, so no harm done.Took it back for another alignment after getting more suspension work done on the vehicle, and asked them to correct the issue. They did without protest and second alignment was free since they offer a 12 month warranty type of deal where you can keep coming back for free alignments for 12 months. There is a life time warranty option as well for a bit more money, but I do not plan on keeping this vehicle for more than a cpl years.

Had front alignment done and on the right side it says it went from -0.28 to 0.6 and the tie rod was never touch i went to the store no help i called corporate and they sead i will get contact within 48 hr is been 4 days will not recoment at allServices: Tires, Wheel alignmentServices: Tires, Wheel alignment

I had an alignment done, they ve done an inspection and replaced my sway bar links and engine mount. They did miss something at first but they more than made up for it. Craig, the store manager took care personally of my vehicle and handled the situation very professionally. I definitely will be returning for my mechanical needs. I recommend Firestone in Portage, Indiana to anyone looking for a good place to maintain their vehicles and have services done.Service: Wheel alignment

Worthless tire place watch two people before me walk out with a spare tire being put on cause they said the tire wasn't able to be fixed... Long behold it was my turn to have my flat fixed didn't even take it off the truck to see what was going on but to my surprise like the other two people it couldn't be fixed said it was to close to the sidewall but I did a temporary plug fix a week before and it was atleast 2 inches away from the sidewall on the treads of the tire.. took it to another tire place and they were able to patch it no problem and they laughed at what they said . Stay away from this place but they'll happily sell you a new tireService: Tires

Terrible service here. Buyer beware. So I used the Firestone website to choose tires and schedule installation. On the website, it said the tires I chose were in stock. We arrived on time this am, and were told that the tires we wanted were not in stock, but they would give us "better tires" for the same price. Hmmm...ok....so before we left, I asked my husband to verify the price, and of course, it was 60 bucks more than the quote we had, because they added insurance which we didn't want. The receptionist said she would remove that charge. We were told it would take about 2 hrs, so after 3hrs, I called them and was told the car was still on the rack and would be ready in an hour. After an hour, they called us to say we needed new idler arms, because they we were worn and dirty. We told them we only wanted the tires and we were told to give them an additional 40 min. So the tire job was gonna be 4.5 hrs even though we scheduled an appt! We picked up the car and the bill was 11 bucks more than the original quote. When my husband asked why the increase in price we were told it was more tax! We were also told the reason the job took so long was because they had to go get the tires!! Umm...they told us in am they had the tires! When my husband stated that it was the worst service he'd ever experienced, the receptionist replied " have a nice day"! Lesson learned. Would not recommend anyone purchase tires from Firestone. Fingers crossed that the installation was done properly!

Had to take my car here 4 times for them to fix the drain plug they stripped during an oil change had to finish the job at home waste of time and money do not recommend taking your car here even for the simplest of jobs

I unfortunately caught a flat with my brand new car. The staff was helpful, communicated effectively with me. Craig was verh helpful with getting me squared away ! He was knowledgeable, fast and had great customer service. Hopefully I won t have to come back (who likes paying for tires or repairs). I called this Firestone and asked how much for a mount and balance. The lady told me between $50&$70. I don't like greedy Businesses, so I went to a location nearby, and only spent $30. I wonder what else they are over charging for. My suggestion is to avoid this location.Service: TiresService: Tires

My stepmother just traveled from Alabama to Indiana and had car trouble. This is the shop that her car was taken too. So she arrives late in the afternoon yesterday and car was finished that day. And as a mechanic myself I want to ask how yall sleep at night. Car needed electric fan replaced. The most expensive one I found on internet was 360 bucks. Your computer told yall what was wrong with it for 111.00 dollars yall charge 598.00 for the fans, 250 to install and then another 100ish for For sales tax 980ish dollars. For a 200 fan from autozone. For a grandmother and her siblings 4 states away from home visiting family. That's way to much of a markup for parts , way to much for a job that was done in 15 min. And charging for diagnosis if you wasn't fixing I could see. But fixing it and charging diagnosis and marking up part that much and charging all that time is straight up ridiculous. Glad to know some folks still take advantage of women or elderly or both.

The oil pressure switch sensor went bad on my truck, I called them to get a price & ended up going there. They worked on my truck to replace the sensor for roughly an hour. Great job Firestone

I don t even know where to begin with their excellent service. I have been having problems with my Dodge Journey for about two months or so but when I needed to take it to a dealership they told me to make an appointment and the light have yo be on for a diagnostic test. Not to mention their diagnostics test was $160 . I found this Firestone read all reviews and took it in. They told me the problem within a hour and I was able to get everything done this past Saturday. What I appreciate is someone explaining to me my problems, my break down of my bill and most importantly the customer service. I will definitely be coming back here and thanks again for excellent service.

I used their online scheduling to schedule an alignment for my truck. I never heard back, so I called to confirm. The guy I talked to said they don't do appointments on Sundays, that it's first come first served. I told him I needed an alignment on my truck and that I was replacing the front end Saturday so I would be the first in the parking lot Sunday morning. I changed out the front end of my truck and as I said, was in the lot at 7:15 for an 8:00 open. I check my vehicle in and ran across the street for breakfast to get a call 15 minutes later that ram trucks specifically can't be aligned there. After the shop knowing my intentions of needing an alignment on a Ram truck 3 different times. Their rude front desk lady referred me to Merrillville who I called and said they couldn't get me in for several hours if at all today. I would have never changed the front end if I knew I couldn't get it aligned right away. It seems this shops systems are just as terrible as their employees are incompetent.
