Brought my truck there for an oil leak and picked it back up with another problem. They stated that the truck was making the noise upon arrival which is inaccurate. We paid them over 1,300 dollars and they were very patient. I had to take back because the oil was still leaking and they said they couldn t help us with the sound that happened after it was in their care. They were suggested to us and we are very disappointed in their customer service. They made us wait almost another week to fix what they were suppose to the first time.We have taken it to another place and they made us aware that Automotive West didn t even clean the excess oil that was from the leak we had. I do not suggest them and hope they choose to do business better.Service: General repairs & maintenance

This is a high volume garage. I try to be understanding of anyone in the service industry. All that being said I made an appointment a week out in advanced let them know it will be dealing with warranty company my truck didn t go into the bay untill an hour after appointment. I called to see what the verdict was and the secretary didn t even try contacting the warranty company close to their closing time. So I picked it up and am going somewhere else. The secretary seems good at her job but she picks and chooses who gets the welcome mat and who she doesn t care for. All that said maybe they should get a part time secretary to help with the load in addition to what they have. Idk, but notGoing back. I do not have time to waste. Service industry is tough but customer service is key.

Rick and his staff made sure my repairs were done right. Some of the old parts were difficult to remove due to the age and corroded hardware. It took a bit longer than I thought it would, but I m ok with the extra time. The estimate was pretty accurate even with the extra time needed to remove some stubborn hardware. Overall, Automotive West is a great and honest auto repair shop. I can t recommend them enough if you need vehicle repairs.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

This place was recommended by some good friends but unfortunately I had a terrible experience here.I won t go into all the details of the repair, but I will say I have literally never been treated as rudely as I was when I came to pick up my vehicle. I couldn t get an explanation of what they actually did and when I tried to inquire he (Rick, the owner) was extremely condescending and rude. Any question I asked was returned with a snide remark. I was seriously dumbfounded at the attitude and lack of professionalism from a business owner. I will never return here nor recommend this place to anyone.Services: Steering & suspension replacement, Tire rotations, Wheel alignment

They only charge $10 for a lift inspection as I had an oil leak and unsure of where it was coming from and also funky exhaust smells so they looked at both areas...turns out it appears to be the rear main seal...and they discovered I had a plastic bag melted to the exhaust! No work performed just estimates given and in the meantime honest advice of putting some rear main sealer in there for now as it a small leak.

They were so unbelievably kind to me. They found the problem quickly, and went above and beyond what they had to. They were understanding when I told them I couldn't afford the parts at first, and offered to give me a temporary fix so I'd at least have a vehicle. Not only that, but when I found the parts cheaper, they let me just bring them in myself and only charged me for labor. Their labor is cheaper than I've seen anywhere else. They saved me over $100, and I couldn't be more thankful. They even gave me a free ride home so I didn't have to sit around and wait for someone to come get me. They are an honest company, and that's refreshing for the automotive business. I would definitely come here again.

UPDATE: I used to be able to trust this shop for repairs, and had previously given it a very good review after doing business with them for 8 years, it has now been 10 years I've been doing business with them, but in recent experiences I've found they've seriously gone down hill.I had them fix an oil leak on a vehicle, and it turned out to be a 1200 dollar fix, they had to drop the cradle and replace the rear main seal, well when I got it back the transmission was shifting funny, and the alignment they did after reinstalling the cradle was piss poor.I took it back to them, they put an alignment on it, and added 2 quarts of transmission fluid, and then charged me 69 dollars to make it right.Who charges to correct their errors?Now a few weeks after the repair, I pulled the car out of the garage and found it is still leaking oil, so we paid them over 1200 bucks, and they failed to remedy the issue, and in light of how bad the service is, I dont feel like going around with them, and giving them the chance to charge us more just to mess up again.To top it off I had them do some suspension work to a Truck, they didn't do a bad job, but it's missing wheel well liner bolts, and the alignment wasn't great on it either, I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING AN ALIGNMENT FROM THEM!I think I'm going to see if I have better luck with our local dealers, I'd rather pay more and receive better service.

My advice would be to not go to this place. A friend of mine took his car here and they ended up scratching his vehicle and are refusing to pay for it unless he goes where they want him to. The law does not work that way. You cause the damage then you are responsible for rectifying the situation. The guy then got very disrespectful when discussing another place. The owner has the responsibility of being respectful to its customers especially to a customers property you damaged and also acting with integrity. To many mechanics out there taking advantage of customers and situations. The owner needs to make this right. Be careful where you go and definitely be careful with this place. I recommend not going here.

This automotive repair shop is located on Kilgore Ave in Muncie Indiana. I have been taking my vehicles here for ten or more years now. The prices are awesome and the workmanship done is excellent. I have never had an issue with getting my vehicle fixed here. The staff is friendly and they make you feel welcome every step of the way. When needing automotive repairs I totally recommend Automotive West!

This is the worst auto mechanic I ever dealt with. I paid them for work that was not done. I don t live in Indiana so I didn t sue them. I wouldn t recommend them to anybody and I would never take another vehicle to them for service or repair. To their credit they did do some of the things I paid for but overall it was a nightmare and a horrible experience.

I recently attempted to start my car and found it unresponsive... After a talk with the guys over at Advanced Auto on Tillotson Ave here in Muncie, I was off to Automotive West for a quote. Automotive West's parts and labor prices turned out to be as good as I'd heard and they had my vehicle diagnosed and fixed in less than 2 hours after the tow truck arrived. Their mechanics are obviously honest, hardworking people because they could have replaced my starter as I'd authorized them to do, but they found a corroded electrical cable that had melted and caused the problem and replaced the cable. I will be taking all my vehicles there from now on. Wonderful experience overall and very friendly office staff to boot. Just tell them Steve sent ya! ~Steve Lovell

Automotive West on Kilgore Rd is a mom-n-pop business. It looks crappy on the outside, and let me assure you, they are just as worthless on the inside. I had a transmission be rebuilt through them and less than a month later, it failed on me. I got it fixed the second time and 8 months later it failed on me again. Both times they died on me, I was far from The worst part about it was Rick the owner did not care about it or where I was left stranded. I was even stuck with the expensive tow bill to have it sent back to be "fixed" again. These people are hardly good mechanics, and even worse people, especially the owner, Rick. Do what you want, I for one will never go back to them for anything.

Customer service is wonderful. Very informative. They communicate with you. Give you options. They are clean and polite. They service vehicles in a timely manner and in my opinion they are amazing.

They will fix your vehicle and charge labor and let you provide the parts ... Saves you money .. Also they will provide you with an estimate of the repairs needed

Worst experiences!!! Had my vehicle worked on, got home and the thing they fixed started happening again. Took it back got charged more, got it home still not fixed. Will never go back!!
