I can't say enough good things about this shop. They were able to diagnose my issue and give me an estimate on repairs in just a few hours, even though unfortunately I was late to my scheduled drop-off. I could say more positive things, but needless to say, I won't be going anywhere else other than Lyons for my family's automotive needs! Thank you!

These guys are absolutely amazing. The splash shield on my daughter's car had come loose and was dragging and we were worried about her driving back home to Chicago like that. We needed someone to fix it right away. And even though they were very busy, they had her bring the car over and they could at least take it off so that she can drive back.They took a look at it, realized that they could fix it without removing it, and they took care of it for her right away. Absolutely honest and trustworthy. They helped us out when we were in a bind and was sensitivve to our situation.I highly recommend them.

Absolutely incredible place! They are extremely well priced and very courteous and helpful. I drive a manual Mini Cooper S, which can be difficult to work on if you aren't super familiar with the car or if you don't have the specific tools.I'd been going to a MINI-specialist repair shop for 2 years for repairs, and they charge insane prices. One time, after taking my car to the MINI people for repairs that were upwards of $3000, I got it back and it broke again the next day. I took it back to the MINI shop and they charged me $600 to just look at it and try things and break it even worse than it was before. After that I simply didn't have the time or the money to fix my car, so I went without it for 5 months.Before I moved back home for the summer this year (I'm a Purdue student) I decided I'd take it to Lyon's and see if they could do something about it so I wouldn't have to leave my car here. I've been here before, for an alignment repair and an oil change, and both times the mechanics were very friendly, fair, and knowledgeable, so I thought it was worth a shot. I was informed that they weren't sure whether they'd be able to do anything, since they aren't super well-versed in MINIs, but they were very willing to give it a look and see what they could do.I dropped the car off and then got a call the next day telling me that the problem was a bad coil on the engine and that they fixed it - for only $130!! The part itself was like $60, so the labor cost was only $70! I was floored because the MINI shop I went to before literally charged that much just to run diagnostics on the car, plus they told me they checked the coils and it was all fine.I've waited until now to leave a review because I wanted to make sure it really was fixed and it is. It's now been 3 months since I got it fixed, and it's been working great! I'm so happy I found this place - truly an amazing auto-repair shop!!(2023 Edit - Original Post from 2020): Just came on to post an additional note - I graduated a while back and moved out of state but came back to town recently for a sibling in the area, and on the drive over last night my engine light came on. I needed to be back in another state tonight, so I came to Lyon's first thing in the morning to see if there was anything they might be able to do. Even though they were busy, they were able to work me into their schedule today and fix the car for an extremely reasonable price (and even filled up my tires for no charge without me asking!). I was able to drive it safely for several hours back home tonight with no issues!! These guys are really just absolutely the best I've ever worked with. I can't recommend them enough!!! Stellar mechanics!

Found my new regular mechanic shop! Ron and the guys did a great job at a reasonable (lower than quote) price. Moreover what won me over was the atmosphere in the shop and their quick-witted presence. Genuine people who not only were solid mechanics but had strong ties to the community and seemed to care about me as a new customer. Can hardly say I felt like a customer, more like a neighbor asking for their advise and expertise. Highly recommend and hope others will continue supporting them for another 30+ years!

Very professional. They were booked for the whole week so I had to make an appointment. Not complaining a lot of customers usually mean good service. Got in today on Thursday. Dropped my car off at 10 am and told me it d be evening time. An hour or so later the called me and I came to pick it up. Paid and was out before 12pm. Cheapest alignment price in town. Everything felt great. Don t second guess this place. Good people.Service: Wheel alignment

Although, they are honest to explain the issue. They didn't really fix my issue. I went for alignment 3 times and paid twice, still my steering is not perfectly aligned, and the rear wheel is a little faded out and toed. I would have went for other alignment shop if the time goes back and get it done from the first time for a little more to pay. Other than that they have good appointment and treatment.

I am a thorough researcher (reader-of-reviews if you will) when it comes to things I generally care about, like my car. I m a mother and I have to stay safe on the road. And like every other review basically says... This place is wonderful. You re going to want to go here. The price is phenomenally right not to mention it s just good company culture over there. Downright good people. Lyons got me in on extremely short notice, too. I will be back for everything I need for my car. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very honest and reasonable priced. I ve taken my car here twice and both times they ve only completed and charged for service that was necessary. I paid $20 for an hour s worth of work. I wouldn t go anywhere else in the Lafayette area.Services: Brakes, BatteryServices: Brakes, Battery

I wouldn't ever go anywhere else. Honest, friendly, real people who are very knowledgeable yet affordable. I trust them with all my cars and after having several bad experiences around town I value them above all others. They saved me from being taken advantage of by a local dealership twice when I came to them with a diagnosis that was bogus from the other shop. They could have charged me and done the extra work, but instead of an 800 invoice from the other shop I left lyons with a 20 bill. So now, whatever they find, whatever the cost they quote I KNOW I can trust them and I say go with total confidence.

Very Sincere, honest, respectful, family owned auto repair. I am so very pleased for their amazing service and great prices. My mother drives from Chicago to Purdue for Cancer treatments and in the midst of arriving to Purdue her van over heated. Mr. Lyons was an angel and took her in right away and repaired her vehicle to make it safe for her 3 hour trip home. Thank you so much for being so admirable!

this repair place has been excellent to me and the cars I've brought in. they are honest and fair, just really really decent people.they charged me just $20 flat for replacing a little length of hose that was being a problem somewhere, they helped handle towing and junkyard stuff when my old car finally broke beyond all repair.with my new car, they spent a full day trying to diagnose the problem and when they couldn't, they arranged to have it towed to the dealership (where hopefully everyone is just as nice--we'll see.)

This place honestly made my week. Went in with just a couple questions as to how to replace a tail light fuse, and the owner sent out a wonderful mechanic to help. Jason helped and fixed my fuse in like 2 minutes and for no cost, he's a wonderful mechanic. Simply out of the good of their hearts they helped me. Thanks!

I have been taking my two old cars to Lyons for the past 5 years. The guys at Lyons are very good, so folks who live here know they are busy. I call ahead to make an appointment for routine stuff, and if I have an emergency they work me in.I have found them very personable, they make quality repairs, and they are an honest shop. An example is after fixing my power steering, the problem reoccured after 3 weeks. They fixed it for no charge.I recommend this shop to my friends.

This place is awesome. They have been extremely friendly to me both times I have gone and have been honest with me. They told me that I didn't need something done when another mechanic in town told me I would need to get it done.I will never go to another mechanic in town and would highly recommend them. Their prices are fair and they are honest.

I'm a college student and my car battery completely died and wouldn't jump. I got towed and chose this place to go. They jumped my car for me after noticing how new the battery was and asked me if it was still under warranty because if it was, they didn't want to replace it by charging me for the expense of a new battery. Turns out it was under warranty, so they finally were able to jump it so I could drive to where I initially go the battery from. They charged me absolutely nothing for the time and effort they took. I was very impressed with this place, and as a college student, I was especially happy with how they treated me as a customer.

Honest pricing and fast, quality work. Lyons replaced a rear hub bearing in my '08 Hyundai for about $400 in an hour (with an appointment). The dealership quoted me $1200 and four hours of labor. Thanks to the honest, hardworking mechanics at their clean and conveniently located downtown shop in Lafayette. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, or parks to walk to while you wait.

My car battery died when I was leaving my job at Purdue. I grew up in New Jersey wherefinding an honest mechanic is like finding a unicorn. A couple people recommended Lyons.They were quick, thorough and honest. They certainly have my business for the duration of my stay in Lafayette

I thought my vehicle would need new breaks since I've driven it for 2 years and I had gotten it used. They set up an appointment and only charged me for an inspection, they said they were fine and couldn't do work that wasn't needed yet. This honesty is hard to come by anymore

1st time, my car acted up and they were able to check it out and give it back the same day. They found no issues, didn't charge me, and to bring the car back if the issue persisted.2nd time, I set up a trip checkup and had a door handle replaced.3rd time, my starter motor went out and they were able to get me going again the following afternoon.Twice they were able to work me into the schedule and finish within a day.

I have using Lyons for close to thirty years. Ron and Ty are very good mechanics. In my dealings with them I have found them to be fair and honest. If you need a vehicle repaired and you want it done right this is the place for you.

The big guy with glasses fixed me up. Had an alignment. Got me in with a few days, had me in and out within an hour! Great job! Knows his stuff too! Gave him a tip. Very friendly! Will go to again! Good job guys!
