This was the worse service ever. I usually am patient with others and their business it takes me a lot to do anything or act even a tiny bit stern. But I called asking how long the tow truck was going to take to come, my insurance called them to come pick up my car and a lady answered and started asking in the rudest voice I ve heard from someone in customer who are you I don t know who you are what your car is why did you even call me like come on when all I asked was how far away the tow truck was. This was 10:30 at night and my insurance called them, who else would be getting towed at this time even though I gave them my information prior. She said half an hour which wasn t true. And I hung up. This man comes and he s smoking. He said have you tried to start it because I don t want to waste my time coming here I said yes for an hour with 2 different cars and with jumper cables. He said those don t work and proceeded to take out jumper cables and do the same thing I did. At this time it s almost 11 and I ve been out since 8:30, I want to get my car to the mechanic and leave. After 10 minutes of trying to start my car again I ask if we can just bring it to the mechanic like I wanted because I ve been out for hours and he said fine since you guys are in such a rush I was just trying to help but whatever and then tells me that he needs to keep my keys and I said that I m okay I ll keep them I ll put the car in neutral and follow you to the mechanic, after a while of him saying he needs them he says whatever and we are on the road, we get to the shop and he places the car in the middle and front of the entrance and I ask if he can move it so it s not literally blocking the business and he says no so I literally have to put it in neutral and do it myself. He takes his picture and says that he has done his part and just leavesThis is the absolute worst place ever and I will never recommend this place to anyone. If my insurance wants to dispatch them to me again I m canceling because absolutely not

Turned us away after we called letting them know we'd be 10 minutes late due to traffic to retrieve my vehicle from impound, which when it was towed they not only bent my bumper but tweaked the ends of the frame. They also charge 35 to use "special tools" then another 140 if they actually have to use them.

worst service ever. i called in the morning right when they opened and the lady i talked to was so nice she said they would send someone as soon as they could. a couple hours go by and i haven't heard anything from them so i called back and a man answered the phone i was like hey im really not trying to rush you i just have to be at work in 30 mins so when you guys are on the way could you please give me a call so i can leave work and meet u there. the guy immediately started yelling at me and saying i wasn't there priority and they were dealing with an accident and i needed to be patient. so once again i said im not trying to rush you i just wanted to know an eta because i have to work and he said 4 hours then hung up on me. 3 hours go by and they call me saying they are with my car and wondering where i am. i said well the last couple times i called i asked them if they could call me when they're on the way because i am working and they said it was no problem. i said i can leave right now and meet you there. man once again starts yelling at me and says well we are here so if you aren't we are cancelling the job and leaving. i was like but you said you would call me when ur in route and he just said well we are here and you're not so we are cancelling it you need to call back when ur actually off work and then hung up on me. if you're looking for a company that has good customer service and efficient communication this should be your last option.

My car got towed from a parking lot off Purdue s campus. They were horribly rude. The hand written receipt didn t add up. It was $145 to tow, $12 for mileage and $80 for storage that add ups to $237 not $272 so i m not sure where the other $35 went. They only accept cash but don t tell you beforehand when you call or have it noted anywhere on their website. It s an absolute scam do not use this business!!

WORST!! WORST!! These grease monkeys are money grubbing thieves !! Making aProfit when people are desperate in the middle of the night and have no other alternatives! $240 tow for a 3 mile tow!! And oh yeah they don t take AAA or credit cards over the phone so they can keep your impound a few days longer or until you can pay cash!! These guys are criminals in my opinion!!! NEVER EVER CALL THEM FOR SERVICES!!! They are evil

Friendly , efficient and STAFFED!!!! Simple be nice to them they go out of their way for you! As long as you have all of the required documents that are required by law for them to give you back your vehicle after it s towed you re in and out! It s not their problem if you don t have the docs the government and insurance makes them check before releasing your vehicle .

My son's vehicle was down and needed towed to a mechanic. Roadside assistance called Jim's. We gave them the correct address. We waited till the driver arrived and picked up the car before we left the scene. hour later the mechanic called asking when they would get the car. We called Jim's. They read the address wrong and guessed where we wanted it take(instead of asking) and towed it to a random location. We asked why they told us to "argue with your insurance about it." We persisted and they repeated themselves and hung up. We called insurance and verified the address given was correct. A female agent from Jim's called us back and verified the mistake was on their end and they would go back and move the car from random location to our mechanic. Im under the impression she is the only employee with any professionalism.I highly recommend you do NOT call Jim's.Joey's enterprise services is FAR superior!

I got into a wreck Thursday morning. The cop had it towed to Jim s garage. I went this morning to get all my belongings cleaned out and ready for the insurance agent. The lady at the front desk was so sweet. Offered to let me ride on the golf cart since I was pregnant. The man who took us to our car was also very nice and helped get our stuff all together. Highly recommend this business!!Service: Car towing

My car got towed this morning for having expired plates. It will be around $200 to register the plates and $200 for the one day its been at this garage. It is $40 every additional day it remains at this garage. I contacted them and asked if i could work out a payment plan because I am a college student. Before I could even finish speaking the employee said No very aggressively. Only leaving a bad review because in a college town this ruined and made my day 100x worseService: Car towing

Fantastic service, and compassionate drivers. They took excellent care of my mom when she became stuck at night in the rain with her car impaled on a street sign. Driver got the car to a garage and stayed with her until I could get there.

We called in for a jumpstart at 7:30am, followed up at 9am and was told they were getting fuel and on the way. At 11am, we called again, first we were told they were on their way. After we said that was supposed to be two hours ago, they gave a different excuse. After waiting for 3.5 hours, we cancelled and called another service.

My Purdue student's car battery was completely dead & he was supposed to be driving home for his 1st visit. I called Jim's Garage and they were able to use the jump start pack to get him on his way. Completed in less than 30min's, reasonably priced, very courteous & professional. Highly Recommend.

I am an insurance agent, and represent multiple carriers and customers. An outside consulting agency needs to immediately come in and remind Jim's staff that they are a customer-service intensive organization -- people first.The rudeness I recently experienced when assisting a client regarding a total loss was unacceptable, and I hope it will be a team discussion that leads to better customer service.

Our car was towed in a timely fashion but then it sat for over 2 1/2 weeks waiting to be fixed. I had to tow it to somewhere else. I'd use them for towing but never for car repair again.Services: Battery service, Car towingServices: Battery service, Car towing

I told my son NEVER use this service. To many times screwed over, I paid them $100.00 & title of a car to get stuff out then they tried to steal taking forever to let us in 5 minutes before closing. Knowing there was a Jack & my tire iron.They probably had to put jack & iron back knowing I'm outside stairing at them.Seems law enforcement using them if you don't know better you will too. WARNINGThis time they towed my sons car charging him double then have nerve to ask for a tip.Who the hell runs a business like this they deserve to not be in business.Service: Car towing

After my daughter lost her husband his car was taken to Jim's Garage they were very patient with her untilshe made the decision on what to do with it and until she was strong enough to take it home. Cliff and Tina were very kind andcompassionate with her and us (Her parents). Cliff tried to make my daughter smile and he succeeded a couple times. He also gave her advice when it came time to make a decision about the car. I highly recommend Jim's Garage for any need anybody has. They are very sensitive to any kind of situation. . The front office "secretary" was absolutely intolerable. I had a vehicle stolen from me, and this was where it was towed after being recovered. My wife and I were treated as though we were the inconvience. No manners. I will say, after informing the owner of this behavior, we were assured it will be addressed. I hope for the better for the next poor soul that has to step foot thru that door...

Very pleased with the service Jim's Garage rendered. After making approximately eight phone calls to different towing companies on a Sunday morning, he was the only one willing to come to my assistance. I understand how many people regard Sundays as a day of rest, a day off from work, and I respect that. But I happened to need help on a Sunday morning and was very thankful that Jim came to my aid within an hour. Thank you, Jim!

I had my suburban towed after an issue with the wheels. I think I see why the reviews are so mixed here:1. The drivers themselves are very nice and knowledgeable. They're helpful and care more about your vehicle than business. Five stars in that category.2. The dispatch is unpredictable, somewhat forgetful. The issue is that they contract with the Lafayette PD directly, so whenever someone needs a tow, they have to wait if the police need someone to tow them. No matter what an actual estimate is, dispatch seems to always say "1 hour". It took me around 24 hours to get mine towed after many delays and misunderstanding. What you communicate to dispatch (for example, "keys are under the mat, and truck is unlocked") are not necessarily communicated to the drivers, which can lead to unnecessary delays if you're not by your car/phone.It seems from reading about the other towing options that Jim's is more reliable in terms of the town itself, but it's really hard to get one quickly unless you're lucky. One person on dispatch suggested calling at 8am on the dot to get the first tow of the day, which may work.

If I am allowed to give none of star I would to choose zero.I was working on the campus of Purdue University and got a towing charge tag from this company, but my car was not towed. I called the Purdue Parking Office and they told me to contact Jim's after Parking office had deleted their charge.I called Jim's before the pandemic and the owner or manager told me they will take care of it. I checked my citation from my account in later time and found the charge was not taken care by Jim's yet. I have called Jim's at least 5 times and the manager always says he will call Purdue to cancel this charge.Now the charge is doubled due to a late fee.It is time to buy a new permit for the coming new semester. The issue is not solved by Jim's due to their non-effective management.I will continue contacting the office unit the charge is taken care by Jim's office.Of course, the review can be at Five Stars, which depends on the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the service from Jim's.Please take care of your customers.

I slid off the road into a ditch this morning. I called and they said it would be 45 minutes I've been here for two hours. I understand police calls come first but this seems like a long time to have to wait in the middle of a busy highway (was stuck between the roads on heartland) when I called back they just said they would get someone out as soon as they were available. It would be within the hour when I suggested I would call someone else to see if they could get to me sooner she said fine I'm removing you from our list and rung up on me.

I called for a tow truck they said they would be there in about 30 minutes we waited over an hour called back they said oh sorry we had to go to an accident. Gyms garage didn't call us to let us know they were going somewhere else. The guy said will be there in about 15 minutes we waited 30 to 35 minutes still nobody showed up we called Jim's garage again the guys said oh sorry I guess nobody in Lafayette knows how to drive. Will be there and about 30 minutes . Again the guy didn't even have the courtesy to call us and say he was sorry you may want to try another tow service I had to send the guy to accident. We heard nothing! The guy then said just find another toe service have a nice day and hung up on my husband! Then! Horrible service! Unprofessional trashy personnel!

From the time my car was picked up by the tow truck to the time I paid my fine and received my car, two parking tickets were lost in the possession of the garage. Because of this, I incurred late fees on top of the parking ticket charge. I called the garage to voice, politely, my concern that the garage had lost the tickets and the manager, Cliff, was rude and blamed me for getting my car towed in the first place! All I was doing was voicing my concern that they lost them in the process and wanted them to be aware for future tows. The least they could have done was told me they were there upon initial contact with the car but were lost in transit that way I could have done something about them before the late fees were issued. Cliff was rude beyond belief and hung up on me.I would not use them for any type of service in the future. It's only by accident that I had to this time. Believe the reviews! This garage is terrible.
